I have 5 AudioSource AMP5.1's: $90 each/shippping included to lower 48 states It was bought from an authorized dealer so I can give you a copy of the receipt so you can have warranty coverage. My brother wanted me to charge these on my credit card and said he'd pay me the money but now he doesn't have the money and the place I bought them from has no return policy. I'm only looking to get what I paid for then which is $90 each shipped. It was quite easy to see the Audiosource was the superior amp, even though it was rated at 30w less power. The music was more dynamic, bass was much tighter, and high's cleaner. It does everything you'd expect a seperate amp to do. Power: 70 watts (8 ohms) 100 watts (4 ohms) Dimensions: 5.5 x 2.75 x 11.75 in., 9 lbs. If you have the tools, it's quite easy to build a sonosub. You could easily out do the KSW-15 and stay within budget. Check out www.stryke.com, their preorder on the AV-15 is extended until 10/21, it looks like it will be quite a deal(especially at the preorder price). This link gave my brother and I the confidence to do our own SVS clone with the old CS driver. There are only binding posts on the Ultra. If you buy the whole package from SVS, they include a Better Cables 3ft RCA to 1/4" cable at no extra cost. 1.) Just use that cable to go from your Denon to Samson 2.) Set the switch on the back of the Samson to parallel 3.) Run speaker wire to subs from each channel of amp 4.) Be careful not to hit your jaw on anything because it's gonna drop fast.

Here's a thought. While the current Synergy line is good, I think the sound from the older KSF synergy series is quite better. It's much more similar to the sound of the Reference line. You might want to see if you could find some of them used. When I was living in army barracks, I had KSF8.5, KSF-C5, KSF-S5, and KSW-12. My buddy in another same shaped room had the SF-1, SC-1, SS-1, and KSW-12. I was using a Yamaha receiver and he was using a Denon. It was quite apparent that my setup was better for music and especially for HT. Even he reluctantly admitted it. He ended up returning all of his speakers except the sub in less than a week. I'm not trying to say the new synergy line is no good, they're great. It's just the fact that I think the sound quality stepped down with the new ones.

I have a pair of ksb 3.1 for my fronts that I might sell. I also have a ksf-c5, center, and ksb 1.1's as my surrounds, and it sounds great. On the ksb 3.1's it comes with a metal grill which make it sound harsh. Then I took off the grills and they sounded oh so smooth. I happened to have a ksc-c1 at the time I had my ksf-c5. I compared them and the ksf-c5 sounded so much better than the ksc-c1 with my system, and the funny thing is that the ksc-c1 was made to go with my speakers. Klipsch really lacked on that center. The guy who owns the store I bought my Klipsch from uses 4 Aerial SW-12's for his HT(so he says anyway). Would be quite impressive to hear though.

Thanks for the information. Now I just want to see if I can find a place to demo the DA4ES and DA5ES. Some people are claiming the 4es isn't as good as the 5es.

Nice setup. How do you like the Sony with the RF-3's? I was thinking of getting a Sony ES receiver to power my R*-3II system. Just trying to get all the info I can on it.

Check out the Infinity Interlude subs at ubid.com(authorized dealer). They have the 10"(IL100s) and the 12"(IL120S). The can both be had shipped within your budget. I used to own a KSW-12 then I went to the IL100S and it win's hands down even though it has a smaller driver and rated to have less power. It's much more musical and all Interlude subs include the RABOS. If you buy the kit($60 and well worth it), you can use the built in one band parametric eq to tame your biggest room peak. If at all possible though try and go with the IL120S. I've owned that as well and is a very large step up in performance from the IL100S due to a larger driver and double the amp power. I read some "profesional" online review and the reviewer was bold enough to say that this was the sub to beat under $1k.

I also noticed brightness w/my RF-3II's when using my RX-V800. I found my audio magic by adding a Parasound HCA-855a. BTW, I also found the amp in my older RX-V995 to be far superior to the newer similarly priced Yamaha receivers. With that receiver I didn't experience any brightness. ------------------ FABULOUSFRANKIE

Your right on the price, for what you get it's spectacular. I love my Ultra(w/TV-12) and S1000. I run it off a single channel of the S1000. If I remember correctly, the Samson manual says something about not putting a load lower than 8 ohms when the amp is bridged. SVS makes some great subs. I've tried a 20-39CS Plus with my RF-3II's and it sounded phenomenal. Now I have the CS Ultra(w/TV-12) and it sounds even better. I also picked up two of the original CS drivers people were selling over at www.hometheaterforum.com and I plan on building two 16-46 clones to sit next to my Ultra. I agree with trespasser, only I would opt for a different subwoofer. I love Klipsch but their KSW line of subwoofers are boomy. I could never get my KSW-12 to blend right w/my KSF8.5's. I now own RF-3II's(KLF-30's being shipped) and I could only imagine how hard a time I'd have getting it to sound right. IMHO their are better subs for the money. My first choice of sub would be one of the offerings from SVS. If you can't get over the tube look I would take a look at the Adire Rava. Another excellent choice is the Infinity IL100, I did a direct comparision in my room with the KSW-12 and IL100 and the Infinity easily wins, cleaner and depper bass with more kick. The Infinity Interlude are probably the most musical sub's I've heard under $500, they are also more musical than some subs cost much more as well. Don't pay CC's prices though, they can be had much cheaper on the net. I bought some refurb'd Il120's(12" version) for a little over $300 shipped from ebay. ------------------ FABULOUSFRANKIE

TheEar I agree, that the Aerial takes the cake when it comes to the finish and I don't know much about it's build quality but I'm sure it's excellent. Both are top notch subwoofers, I just didn't expect my ear to prefer the sound of the SVS. Let us know what you think when you get your Ultra's and CS-Plus(ain't it a bit excessive for a comp).
