  1. Congrats on your new purchase Bill. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy the sub and amp you steered me too!
  2. If you are in the market for an amp I know a guy that has one! ME
  3. Thanks for the reply. Now why do they make these digital decoders for only CD players... Wouldn't you think they would have or have developed something for BRay?
  4. Can I get an explaniation on what the major difference is between: http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/processors/products/umc1 http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/processors/products/xda1 I guess I'm not real sure on what a balance DAC is used for? Ok and I know this isn't part of the thread but how many ppl use a line conditioner or is that my monstor power strip I'm using?
  5. My Marantz is also 3D capible which I don't think the other is. And I really like my Marantz so its hard to fall in love w/ something you dont have.
  6. Oh my so.... should i switch over from my Marantz SR6005 to the UMC-1???? Does the firmware that the UMC-1 utilize 3D technology? Any thoughts on what to do?
  7. Can you explain to me what all that means? it looks like the stock market.... :/
  8. I'm also in the mood to offload an amp or 2 of mine if you are interested. But Bill did speak first. If you are interested I have a BK 7250 and an Acurus 200X3.
  9. If you are wanting a BK amp I know someone that is selling one. ME! haha... I won 2 auctions on ebay. a 7250 and 200.5 basically the same amp just a few years apart. PM me if you are interested with your number. I've talked to Bill alot about this and I have an idea on what I'm wanting. I also have an Acurus 200X3 I'm probably going to be getting rid of too. I've had the 7250 set up for 3 days and it works great but I just got the newer one yesterday and will probably keep that.
  10. So I'm new to the forum but I have been around both types of speakers my parents have a polk system. They have had it for many years. It is mostly used for TV watching and with movies. I can't remember what type or model they are. I can find out and get back to you on this. This system was awesome I really enjoyed listening to it. I do think it could be updated w/ a newer reciever. I think polk is lacking in the mains and center compare to Klipsh but that's my own opinion. I do thin Polk is great sounding but when you listen/ watch of everything it's plane ol hard to be Klipsh. My system I have I love. I probably watch 40/40/20 on TV, movies and music. But quite honestly since I've added an amp to my system I find myself streaming Pandora hours before work. Before I joined the forum I had just all the speakers I mention expect the Paradigm and I was using just the Marantz. My reciever allowed me to Bi Amp my speakers which I felt I could tell a difference in clarity and sound. With that said Klipsh can carry there own when it comes to speaker. My recommendation is going w/ them. Right one on ebay they have a deal for 82's w/ the 64 center for 1.5k not a bad price considering new they are over 2.5k ish. If you are looking for an amp I have a few that I've came into contact with that I might be willing to sell.
  11. I recently purchased both amps now deciding the pro's and con's Acurus Pro's Deeper sound, more bass, smaller unit, Con's It doesn't have the dynamic ability of the BK IMO BK 7250 More dynamic sounds, clarity from vocals and insturments, balance amoung channels, Con's It's a tank, Super heavy Will be adding more as I have time to listen to them both
  12. You can Bi Amp your speakers yes. In your Onkyo manual for your 7.1 setup does it have upper speaker. If it does when you wire your speaker the top speaker connection goes to your front upper channel. When I did this I for sure could tell a huge difference but now that I have bought an Amp I went back to single connection. I might try bi amping again once I get another amp. Chris
  13. Thanks it worked. I for sure can tell I have bass now. Even while watching TV lol but I'm ok with that. I might end up trying an SPL meter someday down the road. Maybe when I become a stero guro lol
  14. When can I send you my gear to get that look. They look great nice work!
  15. Ok so today before work I was cranking some pandora and noticed the sub wasnt going. Is this normal? I works when I'm watching TV, Movies etc but not when I'm streaming music. Is that a setting on my reciever to change that?
  16. I just bought this sub and was wondering if I set it up correctly. Basically I turned the Hz to the 12 o'clock position and let my Marantz 6005 Audyssey do the work. Anyone have any other suggestion. Current system RF-82's RC-62's RB-62's SW-310, Servo 15a: going to be adding 2 RB-61's or 81's still deciding on that. Any thoughts on a better sub than the SW-310?
  17. I would have to completely agree with you on the rear speakers... I love how it make you feel like you are in the movie.
  18. The person I bought them from said he used both of them for less than a year and I got an amazing deal on both. He als said he was planning on down sizing I told him make sure to give me first shot at his gear. lol
  19. I really do like them. I think from going from my reciever to the amp the speakers seem more crisp. I have a 5 channel BK coming this week so I'm excited to compare how they sound.
  20. Today I picked up 2 wonderful Christmas Presents a Paradigm Servo 15a and Acurus 200X3. Paradigm owners please help. I redid the Audyessy for the room I also disconnected my bi amp for my towers. I can tell a difference in the sound quality at high levels. If I want more bass should change the frequency on the back of it or do it thru my receiver?
  21. Ok so I was checking out the local craiglist is an Acurus A250 for 375 a steal? I just bought a B&K off of ebay for 700. I currently don't have a 7.2 but with in the next few months plan on completing it. If so will the B&K sound good with the Acurus? If so would i hook up my mains to the Acurus and let the BK dow the rest? Thanks
  22. Even more of a reason to get rid of my SW-310. Any suggestions where to list it? It would be nice to get a trade RB-61 for it if i could find someone that would be up for that.
  23. I was the winner of the amp B&K 7250. Hopefully all is well with my buy. I will let everyone know how it looks and works when it arrives. Now for a few sub questions??? Currently I have the SW-310 I've really been thinking about selling it and going with 2 Epik Empire. Does anyone have any knowledge of SVS subs? Alot of other forums ppl seem to like them more? I've also considered SW-115 and just keeping SW-310. My SW-310 is less than a yr old so I know I won't get out of what I want? If I were to sell my SW-310 I would put a budget of 2k for subs. What do you think I could get for it? Maybe I'll be posting it the garage sale stuff soon? Suggestions first
  24. Ok so I've been also looking at a few amps on ebay and found some 200X5. Now in a perfect world and I have my set up perfect 7.2. How to wire my speakers??? I was thinking Center and bi amp my mains. Then use my Reciever to cover Rears and bi amp the RB61 or RB81?? or am I completely lost???? I'm still deciding on size which size I want to go w/ on these speaker. I think either would sound amazing and really the big question comes down to money. Are the 81's worth the extra for upper front speakers? I can see it would if I didn't have floors???
  25. Ok so when all said and done and after I get an amp. I've been looking at the B&K on ebay. 200X5 Now I'm just wondering how to wire my speakers up. I was thinking running my mains and center and bi amping the main. Run my Sides and once i get my upper fronts thru my reciever unless I win both amps then i could just use that. Any suggestions?
