  1. Meant to say I have went THROUGH the manual numerous times to get everything set up properly
  2. Usually when I hit the Surround decode button it will go to Dolby Truehd or DTS MASTER or whatever. Just went downstairs and tried hitting the straight button and then surround decode didn't make a difference unfortunately. I'm honestly perplexed, I went to the manual numerous times I know this receiver pretty well the PS3 I'm not as familiar with but I checked the settings against the settings suggested for home theater on the AVS forum and it looks right,
  3. What would be your suggestions on how to go about fixing the problem? I'm not sure how long it's been going on, the last movie I watched was in Atmos and it decoded as Straight as well. I thought it decoded it like that because I do not have an Atmos enabled receiver. So tonight I put on a movie that I know decodes as Dolby true HD. As far as I can tell my settings are still the same
  4. Not sure which is the culprit my Yamaha RX A1010 or the PS3 slim. I went through the settings on the PS3 and it is set to bitstream. I went through my AVR settings and I still am not figuring out what is wrong, it is decoding everything as "Straight". Any suggestions?
  5. I have never heard of that, I'll suggest it to him.
  6. With "current" model Klipsch parts, he needs to find beat up pairs that are being parted out, which I doubt he will find very often, or just go directly to Klipsch. Cost should not be much more than $100.00/pair if I had to guess.Bill Okay, sounds good thanks. Not sure why he wasn't just calling Klipsch Besides, if he bought from an authorized Klipsch dealer and within 5 years, it "should" be covered. Bill He bought them from ultimate electronics when they were going out of business

  8. I have a friend who says he burned out both of his RF 82ii tweeters, fused the copper wires. He may be under powering them I'm not sure what he is using to drive them I have not seen his system yet. Any suggestions on where to get replacement parts other than Klipsch? He said it happened while listening to Lil John, "turn down for what"
  9. An old Tim Wilson classic from Bob and Tom show. Much funnier when he sings it than reading it
  10. Well, the church burned down and no one knew what Pentecost Baptist was gonna do the Sunday brimstone got so dadgum hot it burned up a church bus in the parkin' lot In a panic the reverend Dr. White called up an ex-member that hadn't lived right he owned Joe's beer joint right across the fence it's the same Joe's he'd preached against... He said, "I don't really want to be a hypocrite, but I got a Sunday school class about to have fits. We're all excited about revival week, and moved by the spirit, so to speak. With all the souls we saved and money we spent, we thought God told us to sell that tent... I got a famous evangelist supposed to come and done run out of chairs, will you loan us some?" Joe says, "Well you can just use the whole dang place... A-9 on the jukebox is "Amazing Grace" I ain't supposed to open because of them 'blue laws' but I'll open tonight if it's alright with y'all." Preacher said, "Well, I reckon it'd be OK, the good Lord works in mysterious ways. I was gonna talk about Joshua, Judges and Ruth and I reckon I could do it from the DJ booth." At the First Baptist Bar and Grill it's the only church in the bible belt that smells like a whiskey still... when the sinners finish one more round, we'll have dinner on the ground, then go inside and pray we don't get killed. The evangelist came with a well-dressed choir, they showed up around happy hour, looked around the joint and didn't take it real well... said, "The White ministry has gone to hell" Ms. Mills that taught youth Sunday school and two deacons in the back room shootin' pool were sharin' the Lord with a Jim Beam rep who was teachin' Ms. Mills some line dance steps... Reverend White was readin' from the book of Luke to a tall, drunk trucker about to puke he had John 3:16 memorized tryin' to dry him out to get him baptized... The evangelist yelled about the lights and the beer said, "White, you can't save any souls in here... this place ain't nothin' but a den of sin... ain't the kind of place Baptists ought to be in!" Preacher said, "Well we don't really need y'all here You didn't do a very good job last year, you only saved one sinner, that's Todd McGuire, the little SOB that set my church on fire!" "Joe's beer joint has done been revived, only been here an hour, and I done saved five. Sure, it's got mirrors and a big dance floor, but I finally found the flock God called me for." They're at the First Baptist Bar and Grill it's the only church in the bible belt that smells like a whisky still not a stained glass window anywhere in site, just a blood-stained floor and neon lights, and the communion wine in here is always chilled. We're here every Sunday; we're livin' large; We're the only church with a cover charge. And if you don't like our doctrine and think we ain't devout, we'll have our bouncer throw your butt out ... of the First Baptist Bar and Grill (amen sister!)

  12. Me too Brie...Weren't they posting song lyrics????? You take a mortal man And put him in control Watch him become a god Watch people's heads a'roll A'roll, a' roll Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionette oh! a squirrel....... I can hear that guitar riff now, these RF-7ii rock that song!
  13. They can also get you in trouble, I knew of a certain couple at my work who are both married but have developed a relationship at work. I didn't even realize it but whenever I would see them I would start wistling various songs about cheating. I would catch myself, realize what I was whistling and stop . I know they must've thought I was doing it on purpose but it was truly subconsciously. Funny little thing that glob of gray matter in our heads.
  14. Also in fourth or fifth grade when we would convert fractions and you would write the equal sign And the blank =- I would always do it to the tune of "we will rock you" boom boom-boom okay enough of my OCD ramblings you guys have real music in your brain
  15. When I turn on my computer at work it sounds like the first few notes of the "threes company theme, unfortunately it gets stuck in my brain all day sometimes. Apparently I am weak minded These are not the droids you're looking for
  16. ...and a mid-point rest stop in BoCoMo Where at in Boone County? I just seen a picture of your La Scala's, they sure look purdy!
  17. Im more and more curious to how those four 18s must sound. Especially since I have no reference point, I've never even heard 15's much less 18's. Four hours is really nothing to come over there and drool over your set up Scrappy. Just have not had a lot of time, too many things going on. Then when you do have some extra time I actually want to be able to go down there and enjoy what I have.

  19. I think I'll wait until the room is enclosed, and I get the second row in I will be building the platform same time I finish my walls and ceiling. After that if I feel I need to add atmos speakers and flying subwoofers ill worry about it at that time :-) Actually atmos is very low on my list at least until a few generations of bugs are worked out. Flying subwoofer would be nice though it could follow me around and accentuate my footsteps, brings a whole new level to uh oh here comes dad!
  20. I agree, they are great subs! I had a third but I recently sold it because I would like four that matched and the one I sold is textured finish. I keep thinking that I should wait until the room is enclosed before I decide if I need two more, I keep thinking that I should wait until the room is in closed before I decide if I need two more. But when I place a chair where the second row would be I do not get the same feeling I get in the front row . Then when I see Big Behemoths like these come up for a reasonable price it makes me wonder . What are your opinions Carl?
  21. http://www.avsforum.com/#/forumsite/3207/topics/1996930?postid=34135626 These two subs sound great but when I add a second row I want to add two subs in the rear so the second row get the same tactile feeling as the front row . Just wondering if replacing the SVS with these two would do the job instead of four SVS. Thanks for your replies
  22. Cool beans, glad somebody can use them

  24. No worries Derrick, this thread has made me realize how little I really know and I'm happy I have a wealth of knowledge at my fingertips. I appreciate any and all comments. Unfortunately I just do not have time to answer all of them or the knowledge to respond to some of them as far as that goes .
  25. Do most of you use the EQ on your subs? I have mine disabled, is there an advantage to setting the eq on the sub itself as opposed to disabling and using AVR?
