  1. Like Scrappy says, keep fighting it. Sometimes it's a question of who you talk to. Sometimes the customer service doesn't want to deal with the issue and the manager on duty doesn't either. Most of the time they will try to turn it around and blame you for it. Keep at it. My question to them is, if it didn't meet their requirements why would they accept it for shipping? Why would they not tell you, they weren't responsible for any damages? Is this an item you ordered from Klipsch or you were buying it from another individual?
  2. Looking for an RC-7 to finally have the matching center for my RF-5's. I am local to South Florida. I haven't seen anything come up in my local craigslist in months. I am willing to travel a little or meet someone along the way. Thanks.
  3. There's a reason why companies spend so much money on marketing. It works. Bose is probably one of the greatest examples of that. It should be required for any marketing class in college. It could also be the wife insisting on something smaller, but I doubt it.
  4. I actually got a pair of RF-5s cheap because of that. I went to check out some RF-5s from someone who was moving cross country. They hadn't used them in well over a year since the amp broke. When I cranked them up, one of them the tweeter wouldn't work and the other was cutting in and out. They wanted like $450 and I offered them $200. When I got home, I opened them up, one was completely lose and the other one just needed to be tightened. A year later and they work flawlessly. If I were to change them would it help with the sound?
  5. I don't have the center but I do have a line on a matching RC-7 that I was going to buy if I don't sell the RF-5's. If you buy these I'll point you in their direction I'm about 2 hours south of Orlando. I'm 5 minutes from exit 107 I already have a pair of rf-5s. That's why I was looking for the matching center. Rc-7s don't go up for sale very often. If you sell them let me know about that center your eyeing if you don't mind.
  6. You wouldn't happen to have the matching center for those rf-5's for sale would you?
  7. That was up on Ebay a few weeks ago for like $350, but it never sold. Listing expired. I never saw it come back. Wonder why it wasn't popping up on my searches. I would have jumped all over it. Damn it.
  8. DOH! If it were only two weeks later. I am looking for this speaker to match my rf-5s. I have irregular income and I need to wait for a closing. If you still have it then I would be interested.
  9. People who own an RC-7 typically keep them. Not sure Christmas would make them all of a sudden want to sell it. I hope someone gets the urge to want an RC-7II.
  10. You have no idea how right you are Youth. Buying lightly used anything can save you lots of money. With a little patience you can get good deals on anything online. That's how I got my RF-5s. The previous guy had them and wasn't using them and was moving away. I got them for a steal at $200. My current truck was 2 years old. It was a repo and has well over a 100k miles now. My boat was two years old when I bought it. Anyone on this forum that boats knows how much they depreciate too. The original owner of it lost more in two years than I have in the last 8.
  11. Thanks for the reply guys. Rc-7s are hard to come by. It would be best for me because of the set up I have. I have a cabinet that I built that will fit an RC-7. For an RC-64 I'll have to take the top apart and redo it or just take it off and hang the tv on the wall. I'll hang on and see if an RC-7 comes along first. Then I can focus on getting rears and pass on my ten year old quintets. The wife won't let me move them into our bedroom and my teenage son has been asking about them.
  12. Hello all. Been gone for a while, enjoying my Rf-5, but now I want to upgrade the center channel for Christmas even though I think it might have to wait a little longer. I'm currently using my Synergy C-2. I have tried searching but can't seem to find any info on which one is best. I remember doing some reading before that the rc-7 or rc-64 or the best choices because there's no dedicated center for the rf-5. Is one of these any better than the other? Is it a personal preference? Thanks for the info everyone.
  13. Love them. I was playing music for like two hours the other night. Just listening to some of my favorites. I just sat there enjoying the music from my new(to me) speakers while having a scotch. It was the perfect Friday night.
  14. UPDATE. After some more research, I went ahead and did what one of our forum members suggested and I offered the guy $200 for them after about two weeks of going back and forth in my mind. The seller said yes, because he didn't want to lug them across country. Well I get home and checking all the connections first before I try to figure out if it's the tweeter or crossover and it turns out it was nothing more than a loose wire to the tweeter. I plugged it in and used a pair of pliars to tighten and they are going strong. I had them on for almost two hours and they were playing as if nothing was ever wrong. I can't believe I was so lucky.
  15. Will, if something needs to be filled in with, what is recommended?
  16. Thanks for the info William. How can he tell if it's oil finish? With today's cheap finishes does anyone even use oil?
  17. Hello everyone. Looking for some advice for a friend. He has the speakers seen in this picture. They are RF-5's As you can see they have a fair amount of scratches. He has some kids that are just terrors and a dog. He wanted to know if there's anything he can do to fix them. They are wood veneer. As someone on another thread mentioned, he can't just stain them because they are already stained. What can he do to fix them? IS there anything he can do?
  18. Thanks guys. I'll post over there and see what additional help I get.
  19. Thanks. Since it's wood veneer a little sanding is a bad idea. Perhaps just some cleaner to make it nice and clean and allow the stain to stick better.
  20. Hello all. Here's a pic of a speaker of a friend of mine. He wanted to know if there was any way he can fix the scratches. He tries to take care of his stuff, but he has some kids which are just terrors and a dog and as you can see this is the end result of it. Anything I can pass on to him? I am not sure if they are RF-3 or RF-5. I want to say RF-5. If it matters I'll ask, but I think they are both wood veneer. Thanks
  21. In speaking to someone at Klipsch he told me that while you won't get them exact, you can calibrate them to be ALMOST exact.
  22. These are in Clearwater. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/174290.aspx Maybe you and Celso can work something out with delivery/pickup. Bill They are nice, but I need them black. That's the one condition from the wife. Unfortunately I think I might have to hold off. I am running some numbers and this real estate deal I am closing on this week didn't produce what I thought it would. I have to put 200 linear feet of fence on my property before I can get my speakers. I appreciate all the help guys. In the mean time I will just keep learning from you guys.
  23. So I'll take that as a no? Perhaps it's too much work for something that isn't really that old.
  24. No they are in Miami. It would have been perfect because they were 20 minutes. I would have saved the shipping.
