  1. When I finish my buying spree of records to complete my collection I will budget in and purchase an iFi iphono2 for myself
  2. Last of the Leo Kottke collection spinning now ( unless more titles are added in the future ) Another upbeat release that is toe tapping on most occasions Hope you enjoyed this Artist presentation as much as I did 🎶 Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Time Step
  3. I have been busy with work so it's been a little quiet in the record spinning department Nearing the end of the Leo Kottke collection Todays spinning is an upbeat record that incorporates other instruments like drums, slide guitar and a fair bit of singing as Leo normally prefers his guitar to do his talking/singing On this release Leo does a fine cover of Buddy Holly's - Learning The Game Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Balance
  4. King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King Genesis - Nursery Cryme 801 - Live Yes - Fragile Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon Genesis - Selling England By The Pound Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare ELP - ELP debut album ELP - Tarkus Moody Blues - Every Good Boy Deserves Favour Bill Bruford - The Bruford Tapes Focus - Focus 3 Brian Eno - Before And After Science I can list a dozen more because of my active listening and collecting
  5. Have a search on YouTube as well for some live listening reviews of both products
  6. @JohnJ In my personal opinion ( and I would personally like to own one of these myself ) the external phono stage I would choose is iFi iphono2 https://ifi-audio.com/portfolio-view/micro-iphono2/ If you want a tube sound they have an external tube buffer module as well https://ifi-audio.com/portfolio-view/micro-itube2/
  7. This answer is from a site that reviews capacitors This is the link http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/Cap.html And the capacitors being talked about Vishay MKP1837 / 0,01uF MKP 100VDC - 1% tolerance I have employed these capacitors in my crossover build
  8. I also like Dan Fogleburg Best album from when I was a young fellow was with his friend Tim Dan Fogelberg / Tim Weisberg, Twin Sons Of Different Mothers
  9. Continuing with Leo Kottke again This album will hit a nerve with almost everyone Majority of the material is a theme of mostly about betrayal and death So this would be Leo's Dark album Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Burnt Lips
  10. @Tigerman May I suggest something in the Jazz genre ( but you may already know about this band ) Bill Bruford's Earthworks These two titles to get you started 1) All Heaven Broke Loose 2) Stamping Ground - this is a live album
  11. Following on with Moraz / Bruford combination before I return to Leo Kottke Genre for the most part is fusion jazz and has a feeling of improv jazz Very very tight and very listenable Artist - Moraz / Bruford Title - Flags
  12. Just to break things up A jazzy release by two artists Quite a detailed and intricate recording featuring only two instruments Artists - Patric Moraz & Bill Bruford Title - Music For Piano And Drums @Tigerman you appreciate Jazz and would like this album a lot
  13. Every Leo Kottke album is different but all are a treat to listen to I always make a short description comment as a guide 🎶 Its a good idea to have a sample listen to see if you like one over another
  14. Have only heard this album on digital format From memory it's more electronic in nature
  15. On a roll now This next Leo Kottke album is sublime in nature Beautiful and masterful guitar playing, you can just sink back and enjoy Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Self Titled
  16. Today I am continuing with spinning Leo Kottke This album has an amalgam of genres from , country to folk to classical and some raunchy guitar solos of the finger picking style Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Chewing Pine
  17. Definitely on a shortlist as a favourite album in my collection 👌
  18. I will continue with my Leo Kottke spinning on my Sat morning And it's also a record fair day - so I will be going to find some missing or special titles ? Who knows what I will find
  19. Just playing a recent purchase to take my Phil Collins solo album collection to 3 😄 This is an amazingly good album and has some great tracks that are simply brilliant Yes and hit songs that you can't stop tapping your foot to Artist - Phil Collins Title - Hello, I Must Be Going
  20. Back at it again after a short break Needed to play some easy listening / soul genre music and this album is a gem 💎 Winwood an English artist played all the instruments on this album Great release with all tracks being polished and entertaining Artist - Steve Winwood Title - Arc Of A Diver
  21. Borrow your friends DeanG crossovers to try on your La Scala & see if that is the model that makes them sing in your listening room Although my La Scala are highly modified - I found similar listening issues - so I custom made my crossovers to suit my speakers, equipment and room dynamics
  22. Impressive sounds like, temperature control record storage
  23. Bass is a subjective topic Let's just say that the La Scala reproduces accurate bass, but overall they are blended well for all music genres I have nothing against low bass as long as a speaker reproduction of it is accurate All to often it's just a drone and not very pleasant and draining to the listener Low frequency is added / mixed to audio media these days without thinking about the rest of the audio spectrum
  24. Paul McCartney - Only briefly Should make time to have a listen on YouTube , just to get a feel for it 🎶
  25. The Cab Sab looks tempting But I'm more into the wine of the coffee bean
