  1. When all the good neighbors are home reasonable volume and tasteful music. When just the evil neighbor its Marilyn Manson at 115 Db for 25 minutes then all quiet....
  2. The most drastic and easily discerned improvements that I have made to my la scalas were daves' fastrac horns and bobs' crossovers. Somewhere around $700 and after that it is just to my tastes.

    Spade sizing

Sonicap Vampire Bar spades @ $1.90 each. Pure copper and they work well.
  4. The type A crossover was voiced with current drive. To hear it as intended you would need a current drive amplifier of some sort. I like the explanation here http://lenardaudio.com/education/12_amps_8.html
  5. Does current or voltage driven amplifiers ever enter into the preference?
  6. That's the tough part. Here in Alaska I own them as spares. They are heavy!
  7. Claude, I was fortunate to have read this thread. The best upgrade to my La Scalas' thus far is Dave's Fastrac horn but the A/4500 did not integrate as well. The "handshake" is well nigh perfect! Also, mid-bass up is in another league. Thank you as I have no need to change crossover points. Sean.
  8. This probably a dumb question... I have 3 Db attenuation on my La Scala Fastrac horns w Atlas pd-5vh. The fastrac drop-off more steeply and have slightly less output. I am installing kappa 15c tomorrow which spec 3 Db more efficient than what they are replacing. Can I run these without any inductors? Just two capacitors? Maybe crossover mid a little higher with the Kappa and fastrac? Thx Sean.
  9. Here in Anchorage JBL 4645c movie theatre subs are being surplused for $350 obo. I was thinking of grabbing one or two but I do not know how to integrate them? Worth doing? Thx, Sean.
