When I saw your name and the title.....I was thinking about a 5 channel Heresy sound system!😀

Congrats James on bringing them back to life. They look wonderful.

Pretty good price on that Gibson guitar. One of the best sustain guitars made.

I doubt that some other diaphragm is going to work. Just about everything for the Palladium series was designed specifically for that line. I don't think parts were shared with other Klipsch speakers.
I don't think any Palladium speaker parts were shared with any other speaker brand.
I remember the woofers were custom made by Rohacell. B&W also uses Rohacell.

Yes....Trey is gone.

Your budget and speaker availability will help with your decision.

A receiver is just a processor and an amp in one. Some call a processor a pre-amp. Those two items are called separates. You can upgrade your pre-amp and still use the amp, or vice versa. Separates usually sound better than a receiver.

He ain't dead is he? Can't be hurting for money...why sell your guitars?
Maybe taking advantage of the current insane prices on rare items. I doubt he needs the money also.
Lots of artist lately selling their entire music catalog, Springsteen sold his for 500m a few years ago.

CW LCR would be the best option. Heresy for surrounds.

I just find it funny in looking back through this thread, like so many, where posts have turned into this (below):

I thought the same thing. Maybe he changed his mind.

Just because you didn't pay much, I certainly wouldn't consider those cheap speakers. Properly setup, they will rock

No news from dozens and dozens of great members since ~ 2020, and it's not because they died.
FYI, BSM is still alive.I wonder what coincided around that time?

It made my day seeing the cowgirls lose that game, it was especially nice seeing the JJ interview. He cried like a crime was committed.....what a dooshe. It was refreshing that the refs didn't contribute to the outcome, or Jerry's check wasn't big enough!
The Lions game was a good one. It would be nice seeing a team that's never won the SB win it all.

I think the "brightness" is somewhat inherent with that speaker. The RF7ll addressed it, and it helped, the RF7lll addressed it again, and it helped again.
There was a XO update for the original, and the tissue/tweeter update, along with all of the remedies mentioned here. It will just take some time and work to get them where you want them. They are spectacular speakers, soon they will sing!
Also, thank you for saving them, they sure are worth it.

If I did get the Chorus I, I also have a Sony home theatre receiver (4400es) that outputs 125wpc at 8ohms. Would that be better than the Marantz for showcasing them? To be honest, I don’t love the sound that comes out of it, but it does have more power.
You never know what it will sound like with that speaker until you try. I have a feeling that Heresy price might be more firm, negotiate on the Chorus.

Try hooking them up to another power source, a good integrated, pre-pro, or just a receiver.
