  1. Morning gang..... and a happy Friday to all... Checking in to see whats going on..... We had a real chitty week..... like so bad we talked about closing the shop and getting "real" jobs.... Just one of those weeks.... The used car guy Jerry who has the dealership next to my shop also had a real bad week. He took the whole week off to go racing with his buds and wife. They got to Richmond Va and did one race. Then the next stop was Bristol Tenn. They made it 150 out of Richmond and the motor home took a chitt. Sat at the motor home shop for three days waiting on a part from Cummins. Got the part got it installed and did not fix the issue. The dealership can't seem to re-flash the ECU. So there they sit all week. My man Jerry has some big coin wrapped up in his race car and trailer..... probably close to 1/4 mill Hmmmm I guess my week wasn't that bad..... Later all MKP :-)
  2. NICE.... Very cool stuff.... MKP :-)
  3. My Cornwall II's have been the only Klipsch speaker I have parted with. I liked them... I thought they had a very good sound but Chorus line killed them.... Just blew them away. Both Chorus I's and II's. The Cornwalls can not handle the power like the Chorus can. The bass the Chorus can put out is just chest pounding, Cornwalls bass response is not there imho. I know I'm not talking about the Cornwall III's...... just mho about the II's. MKP :-)
  4. Looks very nice... Congrats on your new Cornwalls. MKP :-)
  5. Morning/Afternoon and a happy Sunday to all..... I see we got some fine internet pics going on That is crazy looking Neil. Don't know what the hell I would call that. I can see the Napoleon thing going on. That is way too Audiophile for me..... I can feel the change in the air.... was a nice day and the evening was quite cool. Went too the shop for a few hours and bent up another brake line for the ford. Was back at the house by 3:00 and spent the rest of the day and evening on the deck with the EV's. Had the young couple over from next door, cooked some ribs on the grill. More of the same planed for today... Later....a good day to all... Prayers and good vibes too all in the storms path..... MKP :-)
  6. Ford might still have that??? If they do it will most likely be a whole cable assembly. Aftermarket will be some type of generic cable.... I make some of my own cables at the shop... I got some really cool terminal ends.... send/post me a pic of your old cable and terminal end.... might be able too advise a part for ya MKP :-)
  7. Were going to be chillin on the deck with the EV's pumping No labor for me today(well not at the shop)maybe around the yard or something... and a happy Labor Day to all... MKP :-)

  10. Morning all, Just working on 1st cup. Got up a bit late this morning. Was up late last night we watched three movies with our fiends. They left around 12:00 but we stayed up till around 1:30 Not sure what I'll get into today... Looks like the rain has past and the sun is drying things out. That would be "CRX" Ceptor.... This one got 4 wheels lol lol. Now my dad is the motorcycle nut. He's the one that raced. He's a madman. My dad was a horse jockey and raced motorcycles as a hobby. I never owned a bike. I just was never really into it. I have rode a bit but never really wanted to get a bike. The car in the pic is like the one I have..... well the one I have is a shell. It's a 1986 CRX Si , so it's the fuel injection model. I started with Honda back in 86 and I remember when these cars were new. The 1st CRX Si was 1985 but the 86/87 models had the better looking trim and the phone dial wheels. The 1st time I saw a 86 Si was when we were getting a truck load of new cars at the dealer. One of the cars was the Silver Si one and that was the one I fell in love with. I said to myself "one day I'll have a Silver Si" I got my car about 26 years ago. 1986 silver CRX Si.... 85k miles and zero rust. It's has spent it's whole life in my garage till about 12 years ago. That's when I pulled it apart to do a rebuild on it. It's going to be a stock build but I have changed the tint if the silver to a Mercedes silver (Iriduim Silver). Over in Europe/Japan and Australia you could get the 135hp. 1.6 DOHC ZC engines in the CRX's. But here in the U.S. we only got the wimpy 91hp SOHC engines. The 1.6 DOHC ZC engines are the engines in the 86-89 Acura Integras. So those engines are almost a drop in swap... Those engines are of the non V-tech type. V-tech didn't come till 1990 in the Acura NSX for us in the U.S. A few years back I built a 86 CRX Si.. Pulled it apart, dropped in a 94 B-18B Acura 1.8 non V-tech engine (142hp) .. painted the car flat black including the engine bay and door jams. This build required custom engine mounts/axles and wiring harness. I must say the car looked AWESOME when it was done. I used Acura Integra GSR rims with a new set of Yokohama tires. I built this car in just three weeks. The day before the car show that we were going too I was trying to finish up. Around 11:00 PM that night I turned the key to start the car... It didn't start... cranking but no start, spark but no fuel... and at this point I was toasted/burned out..... done for!! All my buds have left to go the the cars show in Carlisle PA. It was just me and the wife at the shop. She was asking all kinds of questions.... she wanted to know what was going on or not going on.. She had the Honda electrical manual in hand. I was so burned out I couldn't think straight. I told her "I all know is the fuel pump isn't powering up" So she sat me down and made me explain the electrical circuit too her. Then it hit me..... what if my custom wiring harness is "pinned" wrong. I pulled the connection out at the ECU and looked at were each pin should be.... well there it was, power for the fuel pump was in the wrong place. I pulled it out and put it in the right place.... hooked up the ECU... I turned the key to the "on" position and I heard the fuel pump power up. I looked at the wife and said "it's going to start" and that it did. At 1:30 AM we got the beast running and we did the test drive to Carlisle. We left the shop and with in 1/8 of a mile the car fell flat on it's face with no acceleration. I got it back to the shop too find the fuel filter full of H2O. I dumped out the water and put it back on. I took enough tools with me to do this a few times on the way. What a fun drive that was.... but we made and took 1st place in our class........ ahhhh OK our car was the only one in that category lol lol. The kids loved my car... amongst all the shinny custom painted cars was this flat black CRX with a 1.8 Acura eng stuffed in it..... and I knew it looked good.... it was different! Sold it about a year later.... Didn't make any money from it.... well I got my money back out of it that I had in it.... but the time I had in was a loss, but we did enjoy for a year. Hmmmmm sorry for going on... later MKP :-)
  11. Morning gang.... and a happy Saturday/long weekend to all... Just swinging in and catching up on some posts. Not a whole lot going on today just some rain...the remnants Harvey will be blowing through for the next day or so. Man, the rain fall from that storm was unreal Will be going into the shop for a few hours today.... gonna be working on my Honda CRX. Got the block back from the machine shop last week. Just doing a stock build on this old gem. Good vibes too all..... later... MKP :-)

  17. A couple years back me and The BOSS went to our local junk yard to get a part. When we pulled into the yard I spotted a 72 225 Electra. This thing was super clean.... like no rust and a spotless interior... even the headliner was in tact. I asked my man Tommy about the car (Tommy runs the yard and he used to have my shop) me and Tommy are cool. He told me some guy drove it in and wanted to sell it. They gave him scrap weight for it. I asked Tommy if I could drive it back to the shop and check it over... no problem he said. I checked it over and could not find a reason to "not" buy it. I gave Tommy a 1000 bucks for the boat. We drove it all summer and I took it to a couple local car shows. The only money I put into was a set of hubcaps and alot of gas... Sold it the end of summer for $1400. The car was a "strip" model..... No A/C, wind-up windows. The only thing it had was power steering and power brakes. But it was a fun ride.... I got to drive a Buick with a 455 My youngest daughter loved it... she could not believe how big it was.... when she 1st got into it she said "OMG it's like a full size couch lol lol MKP :-)
  18. Yea were also having some great weather here in Md. We had the EV's on the deck yesterday. I messed around in the yard most of the day while The BOSS did her thing. Then in the evening we lit the Tiki torches and relaxed on the deck...... more of the same planed for today Been catching up on some posts.... The BOSS and I were at the ocean all last week. Went down with two of our friends. They only stayed a couple of days then our youngest daughter came down with her boyfriend. Was a good time. Check back later..... MKP :-)
  19. 510 ft lbs of torque @ 2800 rpm. Stock Man I loved those old Buicks. I had two in my day. 65 Skylark and 67 Skylark. I got the 65 when I was in the Army stationed in El Paso TX. Found it on base, this Major was selling it. It was priced at $900, but when we did the deal he handed me back 50 bucks and said "here it needs some shocks". So I got it for $850. The car had Zero rust because of it's life in the desert. This car had some really cool stuff: Power windows, A/C, cruise control and electric bench seat. But it only had the small block, 300 cu. When I got back to the East Coast I snagged a 72 Buick Electra with a 455 in it. I had big dreams of making a bad azz Buick. I about wore out the Kenny Bell catalog I had. Well, the 455 never made in the car. I ended up selling the car and 455 when I went out the Seattle. Out of all the cool cars I've owned I would love to have that one back again. A few years after I got back from Seattle I called the guy I sold it to. I wanted to see if I could buy it back. He said "ahhhhhh no". He was a Buick collector. He had a barn full of Buicks. He even had the 65 GS Skylark and two Stage 1 cars and a GNX Grand National. The GNX was bran new, only had couple 100 miles on it. He told me the GNX will be worth over double in a few years...... Yup those GNX's get some big coin. Now my heart is heavy thinking about my old Buick..... oh well time to play some music MKP :-)
  20. The wife and I are at the ocean for the week. Were in the 80% eclipse. Should be starting in the next hour or so.... MKP :-)
