As soon as you are able, I'd build some DIY bass traps and replace those foam pieces with acoustic panels made from Roxul Safe N' Sound. Night and day difference. The problem with foam is it is terrible at treating a room for improved bass/mid-bass response. Also, you should definitely put some sound diffusers in there. That's a small room, and adding sound diffusers will help make it sound bigger than it really is. I added Aurelex T'Fusors to my small room and it made a world of a difference.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it's awesome!

Congrats, buddy! I will be ordering mine (with matching center/surrounds) later this year and slapping some DeanG crossovers in them.
-
My only gripe about the new line is that currently there are no surrounds that will match the RF-7ii and RC-64ii's. They discontinued the RS-62ii and didn't offer a replacement. The only thing you can buy is the RP's with the dual 5's, which doesn't have the same beef as the dual 6's and visually the finishes don't match.
I really wish they would come out with some top tier Reference surrounds that have real wood veneer and titanium compression drivers. Actually I wish they'd come out with a "baby RF-7ii" bookshelf with a 10" woofer and the same 1.75" compression driver.
Yeah, what's up with that? Very strange that they'd overlook that.. And I agree on all points.

Thanks guys. Kind of a bummer
What exactly are you hoping will be improved?
Hmmm, should I get the top tier Premiere speakers (280F), or the Klipsch RF-7 ii system?
Depends on if you can afford the real thing or need to settle for a compromise.
Well, there is room for improvement on the crossovers, but I don't want t debate that again. The Premiere horns seem as though they could also be an improvement for imaging and off axis response. Plus, it's just nice to have a refresh once in a while.

Thanks guys. Kind of a bummer, but it's not too disappointing, considering how amazing the current ones are. Hmmm, should I get the top tier Premiere speakers (280F), or the Klipsch RF-7 ii system?

This is pretty old, from 2002. But it's still funny. People were claiming "Klipsch is the next Bose" because some guy supposedly found poor cabinet build quality an (admittedly) damaged RF-7 speaker. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/135320-i-opened-pair-klipsch-rf-7-s-i-found.html Yes, RF-7's are the next AcoustimASS system... Oh bother...

Anyone know if anything along these lines is planned. I'd definitely be down to upgrade if so.

Can anyone provide any info on what the best general guidelines are for getting good stereo imagining when your main listening position is off axis (to the right a few feet)? I am about 11 feet or so from the towers. My projector makes it so I can't be symmetrical, and there's no way of remedying that as it stands in this room. I just need to know how I could get the stereo image a bit more centered, as it sounds like it's off to the left too much. I have done the Audyssey calibration and done SPL meter level matching to both speakers. I also have acoustic treatments (bass traps, absorber panels, and sound diffusers)
Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

I wonder what other celebs are genuine Klipsch fans. Would be awesome to know.

Oh my goodness... I am so sorry. That poor guy and those poor kids. We should start a GoFundMe for him. Really helped my wife and I out of a rough spot once.

Why'd most of them leave? I've seen a few people say that. That's unfortunate.Stick around Yasnyl - we've lost many of our most technical folks.
I never would have thought the screen would have had that profound of an effect.
As for the experiments and modifications - very interesting stuff, and I can certainly appreciate the use of well constructed higher performing passive components.

This is super cool. Love the info! Thank you!!

Would be very interested to see what a Premiere RF-7 would look like. The Premiere series is so damn gorgeous. It's my current wallpaper.

Hmmm, I think I know what this is about.

What's NLA?

This truly is a great community of folks who share a similar passion for audio. Differences of opinion are welcomed as it would be pretty boring if we all felt the same way. We just have to be careful that we don't come across as argumentative. Glad to see it all working out
Now this I can totally agree with!

I like this thread and I hope it stays "unlocked". Its about time more folks became aware of how different caps can and will change the sound coming from your drivers and I'm not talking about changing the style or topo of the network, but actually just changing the capacitors and maybe the inductors. I am on my third round of custom networks and not to sound like a cheerleader, I'm going to keep the builders name out for now, but we all know who does the real custom "art" work around here. I have gone from an Audyn/Dayton (budget) build to a Audiocap Theta (foil) cap build and I am finally springing for a Jupiter flat stack build. Im not going to bore anyone with the details and the improvements, but its exactly what you're going to get more of, "details". If I wasn't hearing a definite improvement in each step up, I would dang sure be adding the cash for a new amp or pre purchase instead. Im pretty sure there is room for improvements on any network any Klipsch offering comes stock with. If its a Heritage speaker you own and you're a critical listener, Hi res files, multi channel audio or LP's, you owe it to your ears and the speakers to hear what you have been missing.
I'd say I agree, but then you already know that. Amen, brotha!

Thanks again guys, it won't happen again.

I just read my initial post, yeah, it does sound a bit accusatory towards Klipsch. It sure could have been stated much less abrasive. Sorry again, everyone. :/ Hope we can try one more time. Sorry to Scrappy and Thadd, especially.

Ninjai,
As was previously noted, it is not what you are saying, but rather the way you are saying it. I think your comment about placing the coils at right angles is interesting and await Bob or Dean's response. Once again, there are ways to say things, and there are ways o say things.
As a sometime offender myself, I only offer this as an observation. Your comments are appreciated, but the delivery needs a bit of work (but the again, who am I to critique? ) .
Very well put. This is all I want, people who respond to suggestions in a civil and humble manner. I didn't make these threads to be "mean" or upset anyone. Just my observations and things that I think would be helpful/want to see. I really wish things didn't descend into personal attacks and insults, that really was not my intention. I do apologize that things turned out that way. I hope we can all just get along and stop with the bickering.

Meh.
I'm done.

Acoustical help with Room EQ Wizard and in room response and decay time

I can't press it enough, I would strongly consider putting in some diffuser panels. it's one of the most neglected things I see in people's home theater rooms. Absorber panels and bass traps are wonderful and are immensely helpful, but sound diffusion is easily as important.
