The difference between you and me is I can laugh at myself as well as things going on and the humor in this video is more of a mockery of how tight everyone's asses are. I don't need to post about how mad I am at someone for putting my name in their signature and mocking me. I wouldn't take the time to call, I'd act on it if it were a real situation. And I've done that in the past. If you knew me and where I came from you'd know that. I've been shot, stabbed, and beaten with a baseball bat for getting involved in situations similar to what everyone is so appalled at. I have been called a racist numerous times because of how vigilant I am about things like this. But when a post of a gag video goes up like this, if you can't laugh at it, maybe you're the issue. Just as it's my opinion it's funny and it's yours and others that it's not, doesn't mean that I would not do anything about it. There's where you are totally wrong about me.

I'm of the opinion of most on here as well, I'd look at it and potentially do a full restoration job on it if it's what you really like. When done, you'll get another 20-30 years out of it. Unless you need all the new gadgets of today,I'd say give it a look over. I know I still kick myself in the rear for getting rid of one of my Yamaha receivers that was and above what I have now,even within the Yamaha line.

Carl, As much as that infuriated me, I was still willing to take them and move on with things. That was why I kept saying for him to post our emails from here to show what was going on. I didn't want to post them as there were comments,which were then deleted by the members who posted them, that I wanted those same members to see from him posting the emails.

I don't recall the conflict you describe but if you have issues with someone attacking you and not your post, either hit the report button or give me (or any moderator) a PM. No one's saying you can't stick up for yourself but if moderators get involved early on, things usually don't escalate as quickly, or at least that's how it's supposed to work. It was over a pair of speakers I was going to buy and the seller said he couldn't get a hold of me, but had my email addresses,phone numbers, and office address. I never got called or anything and even after all that said I would still buy them, but he didn't want to sell them to me. He put up the post "Looking for Jim in NJ" or something along the lines of that.And then proceeded to lay into me.

As long as he knows that this is just how you are and nothing personal. A more accurate descriptor would have been rough as corn cob toilet paper. Roger, I have no issues with your response either, but I am not saying anything about conspiracy theories, and don't like Mark as it is. But that doesn't change the fact about him leaving and coming back. The issue is how some members get away with bashing others and continue to,and other members can't say squirt,or they get the thread locked, or worse booted. I am in no way in anyone's clique, nor care to be, but let's face it, there are cliques on here and some moderators back those cliques more than others. Members are able to complain about peoples names and their signatures and name changes and bash them, but when the member tries to defend themselves,they are the ones attacked. There are people on here who I don't agree with or even like, and there are members who feel the same way about me, but I respect their knowledge and welcome their input if I can learn something. But let's call it what it is when discussing moderators and showing some favoritism towards other members and giving them a little more leash than others. And that's fine, friendships develop over time and it's expected. Just try to be a little more fair when someone is defending themselves, even if that person trying to defend themselves is the cause for the thread in the first place. By the way, I did get a good laugh on this thread from the way the OP wrote it, and I like how a bunch others write as well, but a name change that sticks for 30 days and can't be changed isn't the same as a person being banned or can't respond due to thread locking because one of the "clique" members got the "last jab" in. Jim, A year and 4 months, you are still a newbie and haven't been here long enough to have a clue as to what that was all about or what and why that member got banned. When you don't know what is going on, you will learn more by keeping your theories to yourself, taking a look at what older members post, and asking questions. You really do not have a clue here... I agree I don't know what's going on, and don't look to see how long members are on this forum, but when the ignorant people like me see how there is favoritism, that should tell you something. There were several things I didn't agree with on how Marck Deneen spoke to people or even me on a few occasions, but that didn't bother me if he left or was booted, he should have had that choice to leave if he did on his own. There are several others on here who can bash others, but because people purchase their products and have a good reputation for a good product, they get away with it,and the ones who go back at them get barred. How's me sitting back have anything to do with the favoritism being shown? Others have left because of this as well. Whether you think I have a clue or not doesn't change the fact that there's personal friendships on here that have more weight at times then saying knock it off to both parties. And as much as I don't have a clue, if you would read my comments you would see how I state that. My point again is simple, if you boot people for fighting back or knocking a builder because they can't reply with an answer that other builders know the answer to, why does that person get booted for instigating, but the clique is allowed to continue an attack? Heck I was attacked when I got hurt and broke my back and the clique all had their reasons why I disappeared. And when I did come back and saw all the BS and responded, the thread was locked. I was called a POS, a deadbeat, someone who couldn't be trusted, had comments not to do business with me as I would not follow through, and several other things, as well as threatened that I was going to be sued over a verbal agreement. And not 1 moderator stepped in and said cut the s#it until I started commenting back.

Let's say you're a school teacher with 30 students, all exceptional. Behavior is fine except for 2 kids who are constantly causing trouble. Something happens and you don't know exactly what started it. Maybe it was a private conversation that you don't have privilege to. In any event, human nature is to side with the good student as you know the history of both students very well. Unfortunately, there is the isolated incident where the good student is actually at fault and you got the call wrong. It happens. Members have no way of knowing who gets warning points. They can only see their own. Members have no access to the "Reports" area and how those are handled. If I personally am viewed as biased then so be it. I try not to be. Just remember as you form your opinions, very rarely will you have all the information. Carl, This is the reason you are one of the members I respect, I don't feel you are biased for the most part, and explain yourself much better than most people on here, myself included. I have seen you let threads morph and evolve more than some of the other moderators. And you are 100% correct in most of us not seeing the behind the scenes things. And I for one would never want to be in those shoes.

Cris, It could have been the tubes then, maybe not.It might have been that they are wired for both ultralinear and triode mode at the same time and need to be wired one way for better performance. I did mine in triode mode only.It not only opened up, but the sound quality tightened up and was cleaner throughout.I also switched out the original tubes for better tubes. But I also had posted on here a little while back how I had my amp re-wired and upgraded with caps. There are several builders on here that could help with that, and if you look at Matts page and amps,they are a work of art. I haven't heard one but there are a few on here who have them. Also, Maynard's amps are a very nice sounding amp as he splits the power and channels. I'd see if any of the builders on here have a return or something they are toying with to see if you can get a one off from them.

Cris, Where are you located? I have the forte II as well as I said the KG 4.2. Depending on your ears the forte II can tend to be very bright if you do the crossovers or tweeter diaphrams. Same as the KG's, but the KG's aren't as focused as the forte II's can be with placement. I've done both sets over with the Crites crossovers and titanium tweeter diaphrams and actually like the sound better on the KG's as the forte II are much more brighter to me now. I'm also in the minority though with saying this, so take it with a grain of salt. Again, take the KG 4 and set them up and use the SET for awhile on them to get used to sound and placement. Being your speakers also have rear passives they are going to be more placement dependent. When you go onto listening to heavy metal or rock, get yourself the SEP, or PP Integrated. I am into several different types of music and love blaring it at all levels, so I have 3 amps. The SET for critical, the SEP for deep bass and crisp highs and more rock, and the PP Integrated for when I want to blare things. I purchased an amp switch as well as an audio switch that are both manual and not powered and have no issues with them in my system. Remember as well on the tube amps, there is a sweet spot on the volume where you'll get the sound quality each one was designed to do, and anything lower or higher will result in a loss on SQ.

The Cornwalls could also be the problem as they are good for Rock music, but others say they lack in the mids and highs vs other speakers.I've read they tend to get a little muddy on the sound. The KG 4 is a good speaker. I use Klipsch Forte II, KG 4.2 with the Chinese Class A SET and have no issues with them.

The tube amp will need awhile to break in and SET amps do not have the same boomy bass. They are more for mids and highs. The tubes in them are entry level also and you may or may not be able to get a different sound with different tubes. The tube sound is going to be different than SS sound, it's not going to be as tight (in the $500.00 range) with bass as SS, but you'll need to listen for awhile in order for your ears to acclimate to the changing of the sound coming out of the speakers. I can tell you on the PP Integrated,it sounds different as well and goes louder,which may open things up for the speakers. The SEP amp will do the same and will go lower in the bass response than the SET. Try triangulating your seating position with the distance from the width of the speakers and the amp should give you an almost 3D imaging. Try that for about a week or so while you look more inot the sound you describe and look for a different amp. One other thing you can look at is an Aphex 204 Aural Exciter. They are used in the recording industry and act as a "boost button" and you can adjust the highs, mids, and lows. I have that in my system as well.

Cris, It looks like you already have a tube amp on the 1st shelf on the left. If you are looking for more power, then try an integrated PP. Maynard brings up many good points as does Mustang Guy. I recently got into tubes myself a little over a year ago, and started out with a little Chinese Class A SET,which would push those,and then upgraded the caps,wiring, and resistors-all under $500.00, then purchased a used Yaqin MC-10L Integrated for under $500.00.That pushes 42 wpc.I upgraded the tubes with NOS. I have a custom built SEP amp which is done up as a dual channel mono amp in one platform which pushes my speakers with no problems and would also do yours. Speaker placement and sitting position will play a big role in your SQ. The more tuned in it is, the better sound you'll get.

In my little time I have been on the forum, I've had maybe 3 interactions I know of with Mdeneen, and as per his words-master of many different things, doer of many things also. He had no issue on letting you know he was smarter than you either, whether he was correct or not. Having said that, I could care less if he was here or not, but don't think he should have been removed whether on his own or not and not been able to come back.

Well for this we might as well bring back MDENEEN, XXJPMXXX and let him change his name back to the_sloth, and all the others who were banned. Like I said, I'm a big boy,I can handle myself. People can talk all the smack they want behind a computer screen, in person we all know it's always different. I don't think 99.9% of us, myself included would have any issues with each other if we were in front of each other. Even the smack talkers on here would most likely talk to each other to at least be phony in front of each other. So why not bring all the banned back? At least this way they don't have to change their names to continue. If they are back, and people think they are A-Holes, it just makes it easier to identify them.
