  1. Nothing wrong with RF-7's. I have RF-7's, Lascalas and Cornscalas. The 7's take a back seat to neither. Heritage guys take exception to this but I've never heard it from anyone that listens to mine. 7's need a lot more power to shine IMO than the others. That's certainly good to hear. I'm not a 2ch guy, always been configured for HT set up. So, I never really took the time to look in depth with the Heritage items (never thought to associate them with my HT), plus always figured the La Scala's & Khorns were better suited for larger spaces. Recently I've been curious enough to look into Heritage items & see how they might fit into my needs/options with any future applications. Don't get me wrong, love the hell outta my RF-7's, they work great in every space I've had them. For all I know they still might provide the best results with my existing/space set up. But lately, my brain has been working overtime in regards to exploring potential Heritage options. Even found someone only a 1/2 hour away with a pair of La Scala's for sale. Haven't called him yet. (lol)
  2. Bunch of enablers I tell ya.... For years, I've been perfectly fine with my RF-7's. Then I read a few threads on the Hope Gathering... get a few PM's about La Scala's, Belle's & Klipschorns from twistedcrankcammer & Sancho Panza... click on a few links.... start researching & troubleshooting/maintenance of speakers I don't even own; Crites, additional wood braces, gluing seams... checking out minermark's upgrades... Youthmans pics & reviews, been jumping on CL & the bay. I even find myself staring at the available corners in my room... and before ya know it, some hi-res Heritage can start to rewire your brain. (I think my wallet just gave me a dirty look)
  3. I have 25+ Blu-ray titles in 3D. My glasses are active & the Sharp does an excellent job displaying the image. Results can vary, as many titles are shot in 3D and some are converted in post. But overall I thoroughly enjoy 3D at home. I did have to upgrade my older hdmi cables for newer high speed cable (the older cables were causing ghosting of the image)... the new cables eliminated that. The Resident Evil films are amazing in 3D (some of the best transfers). Pacific Rim, Edge of Tomorrow, Tron, Avatar, Life of Pi, Transformers, Avengers & the Hobbit films are good live action examples as well. The first 15 minutes of Pacific Rim is outstanding. Pretty much all of the animated title are excellent (Despicable Me, Jow to train your Dragon, Croods, Frozen, Rise of the Guardians). I have several of the NatGeo/IMAX types; Under the Sea, Hubble, Space Station etc., while most are short they really showcase 3D for the home.
  4. Fire Rainbow. Fairly rare optical phenomenon when ice crystals form in cirrus clouds high up in the atmosphere. The sun has to be in the right position & at the right angle as well (not unlike a prism effect with raindrops that form a rainbow). This was the first time I've ever witnessed one. To give a sense of scale, it filled the entire southern horizon. I just happened to have a camera with me (no tripod or filters) and, in person it was even more vibrant & colorful than my pics were able to capture. There was also a Sun Halo formed around the Sun at the same time (an enormous large halo fully surrounding the sun, so large I could not even fit it into my camera lens)... but my pics never turned out. The rainbow effect was more subtle around the sun & the pics were blown out. Rather tough to properly shoot the sun during a fleeting impromptu event, I hope to experience them again.

Apologies to Steven1963... someone chose to publicly "call me out" on your thread. Against my better judgement, I took the bait... as I felt it required a public response. Back to your regularly scheduled programming. lol

Yawn. Manufactured drama. Maybe you didn't see my post about a Klipsch thread breaking out on the Baltimore Orioles Forum... but that doesn't change the fact that I posted it there. Several members even "liked" the post. Whiny? Can't help you there. I cannot help how you read or interpret words typed on a post. Ask 10 people & they'll probably give you 10 different points of view on any post. Funny with everything posted on that thread... you took offense to the graphic I created (which only took about 2 minutes to create, but I digress). I feel it was spot on.

Well... if you have the graphic... you saw it in the context it was originally posted. I also included the fact that if things keep going the way they were... might was well change the top banner, because it was getting hard to tell I was actually on a speaker forum. I even attempted to lighten the mood by saying "Hey, I was just at the Baltimore Orioles Forum & a Klipsch thread broke out." Throwing it here like a grenade without the rest of my post if kinda shady. Somewhat related.... I wasn't even going to acknowledge your new thread about "who has the balls", because why should I indulge such a yet another adversarial post. But to answer your question.... I freely share (no balls needed for such) that I never reported a thread or a post, nor have I ever contacted a mod about a thread or post. Everyone on the Baltimore thread posted their opinions & I clearly shared my humorous comment on the thread (not with a mod).

Ditch my attitude? Not really. No need to ditch anything on my part. Satire. Parody. Merely visual commentary from me. By now it has be discussed ad nauseam... but I'll briefly engage you (despite your attempt to highjack this thread & regurgitate the tired, old & now closed thread). From its origin, the topic was admittedly borderline by most, and day-after-day-after-day the subject dominated the forum and became more & more argumentative & ugly. Granted many off topic subjects are discussed in the Lounge (by off topic, I refer to non Klipsch/Audio topics). When the pendulum swung so far from a "Speaker Forum" & was dominated by politics & race.... the header was a parody & commentary. I could have responded on the Baltimore thread with some verbose reply & bloviated endlessly with a long winded diatribe.... but my visual parody summed it up perfectly & was much more succinct. But thanks for reviving a dead & now removed topic. Not sure what the point was other than to derail another innocent thread. If you were attempting to embarrass me or something... that failed. I thought the politics & race comment were ugly & out of place on a speaker forum. Still feel the same way as I type now.

Good suggestions & candidates for future consideration. My current space is average 14' x 16' x 8' & I always presumed that La Scala's or (say a new series such as the KTP-904's) were for use with much larger spaces. But, clarity, dynamic range... is clarity & dynamic range no matter the space. Something to think about. Funny, I had recently posted about a possible amp change in my set-up, purely for the mundane, practical need of expansion. Wasn't spending $$$ to drastically change SQ per say (just the need for more channels). Your approach would be $$$ spent to improve/enhance the SQ experience, where the impact would be more tangible. Food for thought.

That's good feedback, it might help to push me off the fence one day. I just went on my CL.. & found a Belle, La Scala's, Heresy's & pair of RF-7's. Seems rather abundant for my area.

lol.... my RF/C/S-7's are like a comfortable pair of shoes. Owned them for 14 years... pretty much since the day they came out. They've been great for HT & have matched well with every space I've put them. Not sure what I would upgrade to.

I've never purchased anything pre-owned. I've never sold anything either. I suppose I need to overcome my risk vs. reward concern. Just figured I was buying into someone else's problems. Might have to explore the 2nd hand market sometime.
  14. Winters over, great weather has arrived. Not 2 channels.... I'm guessing 2 wheels?
  15. Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. I don't anticipate any concerns, just curious for feedback from current owners.
  16. The movie that sparked my quest for home theater back in 1997. Not so much anymore, but one of the best transfers back in the day.
  17. Quick question for those who have/had the Emo XPA-3, XPA-5 or Outlaw Monoblocks.... Considering that you have solid clean stable power (& capacity).... how are they for noise/hum? Are they quiet?
  18. Had several new arrivals last year (70" Sharp, new Denon, Oppo, etc.) & I just realized I've yet to watch this since the upgrades. From Trinity stomping on the tin roof; to the lobby scene.... it never looked or sounded better. --------- Why do my eyes hurt? You've never used them before. Why do my ears hurt? You were pissing off the neighbors.
  19. Plus, EMO has the occasional closeout, warehouse sales & ebay Store (jadedesign). edit: When buying multiple mono blocks from OUTLAW... you can save from 10-30%. (3 blocks save 14%)
  20. I've been struggling with how to address my L/C/R power as well. My HT scenario is slightly different, as I have the need to add 2 additional surround channels (currently 7.2 @ 125Wpch/ upgrading to 9.2). I'm not trying to throw $$$ at amps to dramatically improve reference level SQ, as $$$ spent to do that is better thrown at speakers. Obviously not going to add an amp to power 2 surround channels, so considering options to power my front (L/C/R) sound stage. Right now looking at these: ** EMO XPA-3 (200Wpc) ** OUTLAW 2200 Mono Blocks (200Wpc per each) ** EMO XPA-5 (200Wpc) its only $200 more than the XPA-3, so there's value with that approach Good luck with your decision.
  21. Burning some calories tonight. If Crack had a Heart Attack. Double Feature. Double Bypass.
  22. I have owned many Denon Products over the years & enjoy them. Lots of overlap with Denon & Marantz. So I guess by association.... I have some "love" for Marantz. For me, Denon provides a lot of value for the $$$. Kinda like Rolex & Tudor; a lot of shared parts, engineering & R&D.
