Eddie 500

Well, I just bot a Pioneer SX-1250. Havent rec'd it yet but should soon. I will have to give tubes a try in the future but for now I needed something that I can run several sets of speakers off of. Plus, I got a little one still running rampant around the house and fragile gear is a recipe for disaster. Ill let you all know how this beast sounds when I get her.

Khornbred- did you ever do a comparo of the panosonic sa-xr and the pioneer 1250? Almost everyone here is suggesting a 70's receiver except you and a few tube lovers. Exactly which panosonic model are you talking about? I'm trying to learn something here-thanks in advance...Eddie

Thx for the recommendations Gary. Don't think I wanna go seperates, nor tubes. Im thinking I like a receiver or maybe even an AVR for my application of 2 channel listening with me khorns.

Seems like one of the monster Pioneer SX-series integrated amps may be the way to go for me. Now to find a nice one. Anyone wanna sell me theirs????

I pulled my old kenwood kr 5600 out of the basement for a compare. Soooo much quieter than the behringer a500........ I don't think it was a ground issue just not sure why the behringer made that annoying hum. Happy again

I thought I wanted black until I saw a schweet set of Walnut. Unless you really want black and he comes down substantially from his asking price I'd hold out. They are real close, which is a plus. Good luck.

Both my class D amps are completely quiet, no hissss at all. can you guys recommend a particular brand or model? Thx

cant afford balanced power.

I had the gains turned way up on my amp which was causing the hum to be more noticeable....now that Ive turned them down its not as noticeable. Its still not "black noise"

never knew how much buzz my equipment made till I got these efficient speakers. Id like to stay SS, cause I know thing 0 about tubes. And they seem rather expensive too. What do you guys like with your Khorns that wont break the bank?

I've read that the markup on new speakers is 100%. Seems accurate when you factor in shipping etc.....

Now that Ive been enjoying these behemoths for the last few days I wonder why I waited soooo long to get a pair. My local music/vinyl/cd store has had an sudden uptick in sales as of late and I'm enjoying music all over again. I contemplated some Cornscalas and Cornwalls for about one year and almost pulled the trigger w/Crites but am so glad I held out. Cornscals/Cornwalls are nice but are in a different league than the Khorns.....just MHO and ymmv. Anyone contemplating the either/or like me..........Go for the Klipschorns and you wont be sorry
