  5. Morning all BUSY weekend.....Saturday started off a bit wet...but we had 127 cars parked by 9am at my parents Open House. Had people showing up starting at 5am. Overall we estimate they had over 400 people at the show. Sold a TON of product and had a really great time. They took yesterday off and treated us to a local favorite The Metro Diner (Has been on Diners, Drive-In and Dives). After that dad and I sat stunned as we watched the Jaguars beat the Dolphins....had to partake in quite a few beers and a few celebratory Bourbons. Overall GREAT weekend with the family. I'll post a few pics of the setup and crowd soon
  6. Happy to be wrong....amazing what can happen when WRs actually catch the ball
  7. Thank you JL They are truly wonderful people. I was blessed with both. He has raised me since I was 3...and have never thought of him as anything but my father (my real father passed when I was very young). If you are familiar with Brad Paisleys song Man He Didn't Have To Be....I've always felt that it was written about him...truly an amazing Husband, Father and Best Friend. And honestly one of the most talented people I've ever know....I feel like there is nothing he cannot do/make/build/fix/teach....I am the man I am today because of him. And my wife Susan...Pioneer Woman is all that comes to mind....we grew up together from the age of 5...dated on and off through Jr/Sr High School. Both got divorced around the same time and both moved back to our hometown where we ran back into each other...and this is where we find ourselves now 6 years later.
  8. Not of her welding.....but her and dad taking a quick break last night
  9. What is her type of choice: mig, tig, stick or acetylene? So far Mig with Argon and Stick with Lincoln 7018 H8 sticks dad is gonna let her get used to the wirefeed Mig before teaching her how to Tig Ahh, good old 7018, my personal Fav is 6011, once she gets into that wire feed you know what's going to happen, she will say the hell with those Sticks! HA! Already has!! Text I got earlier "Ran out of sticks....finishing rest with wirefeed....YAY!! Sooooooo much easier!!"
  10. Yeah....think my dad has a new hero....he called me this morning just going on and on about how much she has helped him out this week pretty damn proud of her
  11. Looks to be multiple stacks with covers on them in that second pic......looks like it could be a great find depending on asking prices. Read somewhere that MSRP for a 2 stack system of 6 cabinets with EQ's was something like $25,000.....is that correct?
  12. What is her type of choice: mig, tig, stick or acetylene? So far Mig with Argon and Stick with Lincoln 7018 H8 sticks dad is gonna let her get used to the wirefeed Mig before teaching her how to Tig
  13. Morning All Wife is addicted to welding...and pretty damn good at it. Days are numbered....tonight and tomorrow will be a blur. Should be a great time and turnout for my parents. Short day today....at least my "corporate day"
  14. Welcome! Some really cool looking stuff you have built...VERY different and looks well thought out. Loving the Ethernet Multiswitch "console"
  15. Morning all......completely beat this morning Spent about 4 hours last night on the plasma cutter....while dad taught my wife how to weld......she's damn good at it too Sunday is going to be a complete veg-out day
  16. Miami over Jacksonville pains me to say it....but we are just not a good football team right now
  17. This description sounds like what iv had for 20+ years, bad part is that all the buildings are in three different states, well two now. This set up is what im shopping for in nevada, may not find all the out buildings im looking for and may need to build a few. So finding out spreads like described are hard to find, focus is on land/space/house/barn. Deets dad has his Chit together, im impressed, nothing like seperate shops. :emotion-21: This all sits on about 5 acres. Yeah...We built the original Barn in 1987...dad and I raised the 12 telephone poles by ourselves. It was actually a functioning barn for about 10 years. Housed the pigs and horses. Once the horses went away, dad closed it all in and made it a "shop" for my mom who was doing small craft shows and such. Started gaining steam in the mid 90's and dad added on the Storage Room. About 15 years ago dad retired from trucking and went in full time with mom and started doing more furniture building and finally decided he needed his own space (he builds large pieces....tables, hutches, settles, amoires, etc) and added on the woodshop. It's actually all one building except for his metal shop...it's seperate. He wanted to keep it all connected due to it being Florida and can rain at any given minute. I'll snap some pictures this weekend to give an idea of the space
  18. That's it! That's the "barn".....main area inside is mom's "shop"...about 30x30 from there you alk into the storage area to the rear....thats about 30x15 attached to that is dads wood shop...thats about 30x60 then behind that is a pole barn that houses all of his metal working tools....plasma cutter, welders and his new CNC cutter in front of the barn is the Bunkhouse...which is just a building with an open room that's about 15x20 space with a wrap around porch...also has an Outhouse behind it. then in front of that is their home that has the garage renovated into their "Store Front"....that also serves as a Bridal Suite for Weddings.
  19. Morning all Busy week this week. Been working after hours with my parents helping them get ready for their Fall Open House. They own Tuckers Farmhouse and 4 times a year they open it up for their sales. They re-purpose Amish Barnwood into "primitive" art, house decor and furniture. Their Fall Open House is Saturday and I've been in the woodshop with dad helping get product finished. They surprised my wife and me by letting us know that the huge "Farm Table" that I've been helping dad finish is actually ours. The whole time I've been working on it I've thought how perfect it would be for our large family. I'll have to get some pictures once we get it to the house. They are on Facebook...take a look if you get a chance....they also do Weddings and parties....was a really great place to grow up...and the kids love going over and spending time.....awesome that we only live about 5 minutes away. Also started talking to dad about building some custom speakers....he's actually excited about the prospect....thinking Cornscalas or Jubilees...thoughts? He's a master carpenter and has every woodworking tool known to man.
  20. morning all Great weekend. Little boy turned 3 yesterday...great party for him on Saturday. Back to the grind today...long day of meetings today....gotta pay those bills.
  21. Morning all Have a friend from high school that was trapped in a building next to the Towers for nearly 7 hours after the initial plane hit. Her and four fellow workers were rescued by a fireman that was doing search and rescue. She as buried under rubble and suffered a fairly serious head injury that has resulted in her having memory loss. Every year she calls me trying to connect how we know each other...it's always a really tough call to take....but by the end of the call she is happy to regain the knowledge of why I'm in her contact list. She calls everyone on her contact list.....every year..... Freedom Isn't Free and Peace Isn't Pretty NEVER FORGET - 9/11
  22. Funny you mentioned the issue with early CD's sounding bad. My daughter has been getting interested in some of my older CD's (Have around 1200). I have multiple copies of some CD's from different time periods. I took an original copy of Social Distortions Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell that I bought when it was released in early 1992 and played a few tracks and then played the same tracks from a "Remastered" disc that I bought a few years ago. I was pretty amazed at how much better the remastered disc sounded.
