  1. What was ultimately sad was the fact that as you got to about 100 yards of the water, The fog was so thick it dropped the temps about 20 degrees. And you couldn't see 100 feet. So at least it was cooler near the water!
  2. There has been some increased testing in the state over the last 4-5 days. Corrected.
  3. The only thing we know for sure is that we don't know anything. So why not be cautious? I'm all for the masks still. And as i pointed to before this, we are not appearing to be all be out of the woods yet.
  4. WA State's daily covid bar charts show a missing report from the last day, according to the local paper. The 'experts' say we don't have adequate testing still. AND YET... the number of cases has increased on average over the last 6 days. Not a hugely significant movement, but it was on an average decline for almost 15 days before that. Things were looking good. Maybe it's a blip. I hope so. I don't think it can be 100% pertaining to testing as I haven't heard of a ramp up in the state.
  5. Well, you already know this. I got nothing!
  6. Are you using the same browser? I have a mac and a pc with different browsers and some web sites and links appear differently on them. I remember the old Netscape and the newer browsers of that period looking totally different from each other. I know Netscape has virtually disappeared now... just an example.
  7. Sorry to be a party pooper. The laws of physics don't allow you to surf up the backside of a wave. Gravity wins every time. ;>)
  8. My son and I are indoctrinating his beautiful daughter into Rush via the rock lullabies. Another generation of Rush Fans. I'm truly dismayed that she and we will not see them again. I've got a ton of files of it from variou artist's works. It's great stuff! I listen to it occasionally myself
  9. I remember the poor ol' Aints! Paper bags as masks. Better times now.
  10. True... definitely not in the car for me. And I do try to get a 'clean ' breath evry now and then even if it means moving away from the crowd. I don't have an answer why anyone would wear it in the car unles you were ubering.
  11. I'm not surprised. If I don't eat an Altoid before donning my mask, I will almost pass out from my own breath! I brush, floss. Stinkbreath!
  12. The right and ability. That's what I find disheartening. Some won't read reports from the other side. It's all nuance that can be sifted through. The more you know.... Now if you say you can decide for yourself then why be fearful of reading 'other's' news? Will it automatically program you to that viewpoint? How? I read the local paper. Then the WSJ online. The Times. Fox. AP. Newsweek. Business Insider. I have the time. I have the need to know. I too, can discern the subtle change in adverbs and adjectives that can change the way reports are understood. It happens with a lot of folk. Science says the more data you have, the better your understanding will be. I guess plenty of folks don't believe that. IMO
  13. If the game show 'doctor' would just stop pontificating on medical issues he knows nothing about, then we wouldn't have to have all the 'experts' explain what he said or meant. That's what I'm tired of.

Holy crap! With room to spare!
  15. I was wondering what to do with all of my old late '60's blacklights. I may donate 'em to my local clinic. My Steppenwolf poster will never look the same.
  16. No. In spite of the authorities opening things up. People won't go if they're not feeling it. I hope we don't have a repeat of someone doing what the prez said again. I hope.
  17. I believe that it will be the people that determine when things are 'open'. Not State or City leaders. When the majority of the general population feels safe, then I think things will open up.
  18. "I was thinking this morning, and this is just kind of a thought experiment because I was thinking about this — why don't we just put everybody in a space outfit or something like that?" Moore asked. "No. Seriously." OMG... and this is the kind of adviser and advice that the president gets. God help us if you can.
  19. That's why only most of my stuff goes through it. I ran out too. I don't think my Lp-12 needs it as it has an onboard power supply but I could be wrong.
  20. I have used an old Monster HTS 3600 forever it seems with great results. We don't typically have much lightening in the Pacific NW. But we have plenty of wind and at times it causes brownouts. Mostly dependant on whether your power lines are run overhead or underground. Almost all of my HT/stereo system is run through the Monster. Never have had the least bit of problems or worry. My understanding from what I've read is that the Panamax brand is preferred by some. I don't know enough to say why, however. It's a great idea to use one.
  21. At least we're not staying at home with Hyenas. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/21/opinions/zimbabwe-wildlife-photographer-wolhuter-lockdown-coronavirus-spc/index.html
  22. Simple, really. And I do mean simple, really. Wa state had projections that would facilitate the need for extra beds. The curve was initially very steep. But (IMO) the state had an early social distance and then a stay at home order. Remember this was ground zero in the U.S. It could've gone waay bad (again, that is a conjecture because we really know very little and I don't think I'm Nostrodamus like some on this board do, by making predictions.) I don't give two shakes of a rats *** how you or anyone else feels about any state's governors orders. We see that it was effective here. And thus... no need for the extra facility. And as that was made apparent, the state sent the hospital to where it was needed more. Smart people plan for the unexpected as well as they can.
