  1. If those were local id be at the bank right now! Those are GORGEOUS and incredible price! Hmm perhaps I should inquire about shipping.
  2. Ya, it's funny you say that I have had that happen to me too on many occasions.
  3. I Can't speak for that model but I have the Marantz SR 5011 and like you I bought it because it has pre out's over the previous one I had. Coming from a Pioneer Elite and before that a Yamaha I personally thought the Marantz and Pioneer sounded way better with my heritage speakers than Yamaha I also thought the room calibration used with the Marantz and Pioneer seemed at least to me to make much more of a difference than on the Yamaha. I have been very happy with my Marantz and would definitely recommend the brand.
  4. I don't really think I would have that issue because my room is kinda on the small side as it is. Curious what you guys think. I found a pair locally from a guy he says they were manufactured in 1972 they have AK-3 crossovers and he says they are in cosmetically 9/10 condition and working flawlessly. He will not go below 3k I have tried for weeks and he wont budge. I haven't gone to check them out yet because they are like 2 hours away from me so if I go all the way down there I wanna go with cash in hand ready to buy. Do you guys think 3k is a good price if the condition and all that checks out? What do you guys think? Is 72 a good year, are the AK-3's a good crossover? I have considered the fact that if I bought them and liked them I could most likely make at least half the money back selling the La Scala's I have so that's definitely a plus.
  5. I definitely am a music listener as well. In fact I'd have to say as far as theater goes I am extremely happy with the setup I have now. I am very happy with it as far as music goes too. I think that's one thing a lot of people misunderstood. I am in no way unhappy with the La Scala's I am just now in a position where I may be able to afford some used Khorns and have always wanted to try them so I figured why not give it a shot if the room would be adequate for them. It would definitely take a lot of rearranging though. I don't really think it would be worth it for me to go through the trouble of building a false wall I think I would rather just go the plywood route if I did decide to get a pair.
  6. So if I just put them as close to the wall as possible without having them perfectly sealed against the wall they wouldn't sound good?
  7. This is the corner in question. I have heard though that they don't need to be 100% against the wall. Is this true? I mean it would only be a couple inches from the wall.
  8. It's a water pipe I definitely can't remove it. I wish I could.
  9. Ya, that is one thing I have considered but even though they use the same drivers I have heard the Khorns still sound considerably better through all the thread's I have looked up on this site and all over the internet. I would say 70% of people say the Khorns are a lot better.
  10. I have always loved the large soundstage Klipsch has provided and the largest possible is what I am going for. I would be keeping a La Scala as a center and either moving the other La Scala's to the rear and selling the Chorus's or keeping the Chorus's and perhaps selling the La Scala's that I have as mains right now. I would love to keep everything but I don't know where I would put it all lol! Who know's though I would probably keep the La Scala's and sell the Chorus's. I don't know if I could part with those.
  11. I've been considering for quite a while now whether I should maybe get KHorns but I am not 100% sure it would be worth it for my room. Right now I have La Scala's and am of course very happy with them but have heard quite a few people say there is a pretty big difference between the La Scala's and KHorns. I do have 2 corners but one of them isn't perfect, there is a pipe that comes out and the Khorns would have to be about 6 inches away from the corner to accommodate the pipe. The other corner is perfect though. The main concern I have is the room isn't very big. It's about 21 ft by 18 and I would have to do some serious rearranging to clear up the corners for them. What do you guys think, are they worth it in my situation? What's the smallest room some of you have put Khorns in?
  12. Where are you located? I have a single La Scala that's a part of a pair I bought that I also used as a center.
  13. La Scala's 1600 Chorus's 800 Marantz SR 5011 800 Emotiva 5 channel amp 1500 Center La Scala 500 Klipsch R-115SW X2 forget the exact amount but I know I got them for a pretty good deal new on eBay.
  14. yup, I guess I should have shopped around lol.
  15. I agree but here's the thing, I just bought a 4,000 dollar TV from bestbuy plus a new receiver so I got about 200 dollars in bestbuy rewards so I figure why not buy some nice headphones. Bose really seems to be the best ones they have, As you can see I am a die hard Klipsch fan if you take a look at my sig but unfortunately they don't really have any Klipsch headphones at best buy other than wired ones which i can't use because these would be primarily gym use. It was pretty much between the Bose, and Beat's and I thought the Bose took it especially with the noise cancelling.
  16. I would just be using them for my iPhone no amp or anything like that. Pretty much all Bluetooth use.
  17. I'm currently in the market for some new Bluetooth headphones and usually I wouldn't look at Bose I know there generally overpriced and all that but at best buy I tried them out and was pleasantly surprised. They do seem to get very rave reviews. For a price range of around 350 what would you guys recommend? They'd have to be Bluetooth that's a must.
  18. Ya I'm really not in the position for DIY lol I'm pretty mechanically inclined but not good with wood working. Those jtr subs are insane looking, especially the orbital shifter with the folded horn. I've always heard Horn loaded subs were really good.
  19. Thank you, it's a good thing you mentioned that because that's actually the ones I was looking into. As far as this sub goes I was wrong that solution didn't fix it, shortly after I posted that the buzz returned. I'll call Klipsch tomorrow and see what they say and then go from there.
  20. Thank you guys I will definitely check that out. Quick question, I know you guys may think I am crazy for this but to be honest I was never really blown away by those subs to begin with I mean yes I thought they were much more accurate than my Velodyne and seemed to mesh better with the La Scala's but in terms of volume these things can't keep up with the La Scala's at all. Not to say they do a bad job but I am wondering if perhaps I should just take this opportunity to sell these (of course fix the afflicted one first) if that ground loop isolator doesn't work. and perhaps just get some SVS sub's. I have to say those things are absolutely gorgeous. What do you guys think, are Klipsch sub's any good? I have to say on AVS forum they say they aren't that great but they pretty much bash Klipsch all together on that forum from what I've seen. I see a lot of you guys don't use Klipsch sub's. All input is much appreciated! Also, I did buy them from an authorized dealer. It was onecall off eBay open box so they said but both boxes looked mint when I got them and it did say all manufacturers warranty still applies.
