I measured the temp when i got home. It is 103* in standby mode. Seems a bit too warm in this mode i would think, but maybe normal thou? The insides look to be free of any dust, its very clean. Going turn it on and see how hot it gets after an hour.

Bought a used Marantz surround receiver and have some questions. I have not set it up yet, but how do you set the tone controls? I have it plugged in and in stand by mode and it gets very warm, is this normal? I will be moving soon and dont want to set it up til i get to the new home.

Yes, i'm now using DeanG universals in the Cornscala's. Very nice. Sold the B3's a year ago.

Pretty sure the Ayon V will be the amp for me. Once the fall weather comes back around i will be doing much more listening and will get it ordered at that time, unless i find a good used one before then.

Me too. Which speakers are you going to drive with the Ayon PA? I guess i cant call my cornscala a cornscala any more because it does not have the LaScala mid horn, so my similar cornscalas i'm not sure what they need to drive them. DE85,DE120 at 8ohm and 3015lf@4 ohm. I'll have to take a look at the spirit PA.

Have not seen any Ayon spirit v for sale used. Might be an indication to how good it is.

I have had a similar idea. To buy a pair of Crites cabinets and use the 55g and the de10 or is it the 110? Can’t remember. I want that in your face Klipsch sound. I think you will get that with the 1” mid driver(55g). Maybe use Klipsch 33 woofers as well.

I have found nothing bad about that amp. Would be nice to have a listen before I throw that kind of money out there.

With good looks and all great reviews I am leaning toward getting the Ayon first. Being the more expense of the 2, probably should. I may not have the money next year for this kind of stuff.

I have researched many other amps amps and have narrowed it down to these two as what i would like to try. Goods reviews on both and nice looking amps as well. I will most likely end up with both amps, just need to make up my mind which one to purchase first. The price just may determine that.

I may just buy them both and do my own review.

well, ya know they have to have a good wright up on those things to get people to spend that kind of money. The personal reviews on that amp have been pretty good thou and better than the Prima Luma which is made in China. I see a few Prima Lunas for sale second hand and hardy any Ayons. Either way, over all, the reviews of both amps have been pretty good.

I have seen the spirit v for $5000 . The price is so close to the EVO 400 that it makes it hard to decide. The Ayon is made in Austria, I like that.

Has anyone here ever owned or listened to any of the Ayon amps? I'm getting my ducks in a row here and looking to purchase a new tube amp to power my Cornscala's. Currently looking at the Ayon spirit v and the Primaluna EVO 400 and the older Dialogue model. I would really like to learn more about these Ayon amps. Read something about the way they are wired is similar to SET, but with way more power.

I watched several videos and read some on both the EVO400 and the Dialogue. Very impressed with these amps. I think a Primaluna is in my future. I would like to see a video from Kevin@Upscale on the Aton amps as well. Don’t think he had done one thou.

Nice to hear that. I also have been researching the Toolshed amps and the Ayon spirit V. Too bad we can't walk into a store and listen to these before purchase. I would like to know the tonal differences before spending that kind of money.
