  1. ok, thanks for the info on this guys. I never used a staple with the black nylon covering, just adhesive and it is very hard to work with. The black i used was very stiff and hard to fold. Think i can get it done.
  2. Nothing at the moment. A friend was asking. I may try some kt66 gold lion thou.
  3. Looks like ill have to lay panels down, spray them with 3m 77 and lay the tweed/cane cloth on them. I will be able to see what im doing that way to be sure lines are straight.
  4. The cane material i have now came from Bob Crites. When i built the CW's i also built the grill panels out of masonite. I layed the nylon grill material on the floor, sprayed the panels with 3m 77 and layed the panels on the material. Cut, trimmed around edges, glued and folded. The black material was very stiff and hard to fold.
  5. Where do you guys buy your vacume tubes at that has resonable pricing and can be trusted?
  6. Very nice. Makes me want to refinish mine in that color stain.
  7. Ok, thanks. Next question. Does the cane material need to be stretched tight when its applied? The black nylon material i used previously did not require stretching tight.
  8. Ok' would the old adhesive need to be removed or can i just go over top with the cane.
  9. Cornwall, but i build them and the grills myself if the matters.
  10. Also, can the cane grill material be installed using the the same 3m spray adhesive?
  11. Anyone know how to remove old black grill material? I used 3m spray adhesive when i glue'd them on.
  12. Claude, where would one find Klipsch test CD's?
  13. I have a mod wright sony C333es that is getting very finiky at playin regular cd's( i believe you call they redbook), but plays all my sacd's no problem. Any idea's why? Could it be the CD's getting old?
  14. Thanks for the info. Still haven't pulled the trigger yet. My old Audcom is still sounding good with KT77's in it. 30/ch and it rocks. I will be getting one of those this yr thou.
  15. When using a sound level meter/db meter, should the A level or C level be sellected? Not sure what each is designed for. I think klipsch used A for the specs.
  16. Still evaluating the Supers and they are sounding fantastic. All of the distortion i was getting from the K55m mids is gone and can now listen on axis to my ears. I think they sound great on the floor, but haven't tried them elevated yet. Anyone with a pair of Heresy 1's should try this mod, but be sure to use a 2.0 cap on the input and #2 tap for your mid if its a K55m and klipsch autoformer. Low volume to high volume, doesn't matter, they sound so rich and clean that i can hear everything now like cymbals and breathing. With mid on tap 3 they were too distorted to hear the small things when listened to on axis to the ears and sounded much like a hollow horn if you know what i mean. Thanks for all your advice claude, you knocked it out of the park buddy.
  17. Some have reported a larger sound stage with the ALK universal network which is still available as i just email AL a few days ago about it, but these are about $100 more than the Crites networks. AL recommended the AP-12/A5800 extreme slope for cornwall. That combo is very pricey and need to work together. I just ordered the B3's from Bob Crites for my vertical CW's.
  18. Just listening at low volume now 75db and it sounds way better than i thought it could. Maybe at high volume may not be so good? Will see. Just glued the 2.0 caps to the 3.9's. Shouldn't hurt any thing.
  19. Claude, just finished moving mid to tap 2 from 3 and switched the 3.9 input cap for a 2.0 as you suggested. Only listened to a couple songs off an America CD and all i can say WOW! What an improvement. The Supers are much cleaner now and i can hear more bass i think. Lots of listening to do to be sure, but man, these Heresys are bad *** and i think i just want to stay up all night listening, just as i used to with my CW's. You were spot on with that tweak. Thanks
  20. No problem Dean. I understand. I appreciate all your help.
  21. Thats a good score for sure. I'm listening to the Supers now at a avg 90db and can't make up my mind if i want to lower the tap on the mid yet. Some music sounds real clear and some sounds just like too much mid range as long as i listen off axis. On axis i would deffinitly lower the tap from 3 to 2. Might give it a try just to see. Even off axis at 90db they do start to wear on my ears after an hour or so.
