  1. Wish I could have caught it in time, I'm looking for one. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  2. Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal. If the bias is set right, shouldn't be a problem. Plus there are so many upgrades and mods available. These hang in there with McIntosh MC75'S. Hard to believe. But true. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
  3. Klipsch still had the CF badges Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  4. I am looking for a C20 preamp volume potentiometer. I do not want to modify my preamp for a Gold Point stepped attenuator. Reasons, no on/off switch Can cap. must be removed for clearance And want to keep the unit stock. Look in your scrap piles, for non repairable donor units. Would be willing to buy one. 5. You sho got that right Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  6. Anyway may not be a bad idea just to get them, just in case. I play pretty loud sometimes. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  7. Dave, are you attending the gathering this year? If so I would like to discuss in detail, what benefits would be, to mod my v3. CF4'S to v1. A former member here has 3 or 4 pair woofers. K 30 cone stamps. But from results I have seen, I think they are v3. Correct me if I am wrong. But I believe v1 and 2 used K29? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  8. What I got today. My McIntosh C20 back from the tech whom recapped it. Got home too late to install back into my all tube system. But was playing and sounded really good while I was picking it up. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  9. Ain't over until the fat lady sings Hopefully one will show up soon NOT,! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah right...I know! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  11. All I can say is my quest is over now. The ST70 pairs so close to the MC75'S. It is ecstasy. My McIntosh C20 is not back yet, but with the Adcom GF555 it sounds so good I can't even comprehend what it will sound like with the C20. My one and only next investment will be a Oppo player. 12. Will do. No time left after working & running the shop all day. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  13. Well, since it has Valvo EF86 pentode mod, I am going to have to give it a try. They sound incredible in our guitar amp builds. I don't plan on changing anything if it sounds half decent. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  14. Bruce, do you know who manufactured the board, part#, etc? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  15. Bruce could you enlighten me on the updated driver board? I am assuming the two mesh plate preamp tubes have been converted to something other than what wa originally in it. Is it 7199? I know I have a lot of research to do on mods. But maybe you could tell me what the factory used in those 2 positions, and what their recommendations were for it? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  16. Catch ya'll at the Gathering Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  17. Probably should. Really want all electrons hitting the plates. At the speed of sound. Front & back. Narrowed down to the Belle's and CF4'S. I'll let the kg5.5 and JBL L200T rest comfortably numb. While I'm the same. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  18. Way to go! 55' will reach out and touch someone ! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  19. Don't think l'll plug my headphones in it! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  20. Anybody know what the miniature sockets are? Bias points? 1/8 input jacks? I know nothing about Dynaco stuff. Other than the tubes in this thing alone are probably worth what I gave for the whole amp. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  21. And so it seems my luck continues. Was looking through Craigslist at a vintage Kenwood receiver. Nothing special about it really. But in the 4 poorly taken photos in what looks to be like am old warehouse, I spot it. Sitting on top of a speaker. I text, and the guy can't even tell me the make or model. I know it's a Dynaco ST70, but what condition is it in. So off to Houston again with the $450.00, he says he will take, I go. Now the interesting part. I bring my tube tester, Fluke 77 and variac. But the seller is doing some remodeling on a vacant home. So I plugged in my tube tester, begin to pull on of the Mullard 6CA7's real carefully, by the base. Trying to wiggle it out of a rather tight socket, I manage to break the only USA manufactured tube in it. The 5AR4. So, I have a Sovtek to try it out with. Going to put a speaker load on it and bring it up slowly on the variac. But this unit has been recapped, and metal film resistors replaced, along with bias measuring test sockets? Really don't know much about Dynaco. But what a find on a Saturday night, late. And a great score today! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
