  1. Thank You Paul, if I'm lucky maybe I can get them all done before 2021!! As for the recharge: the first Heart LP I bought was this one.. not exactly this one... I wore the first one out. Bought it for "Barracuda" & "Kick it Out" Love it 40 years later for the other excellent music on it.
  2. A recharge is what I need, and will get soon, more to follow. Fedex came early today, it's almost 10pm now and I just got to open this up... The gauge of that cord handles some amperage, can't put it on the extension cord. I''l be doing close to professional LP cleaning soon.
  3. The year? Just one? Didn't know it could be narrowed down like that!
  4. Know all that brass sounds good at your place @Full Range ! @Dave1290 Yep music at the dentist, all of the above played in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Muzak or the channel of it that he had quit buying the records when the 80s came out!
  5. Think I read they had 135mph winds and called it a bomb cyclone. Need PWK at times like this...... bs, think it's called a post tropical cyclone that far north with snow instead of rain, did it get a name? Cat 4 hurricane up north! Good grief. Seen one blizzard in my lifetime and I'm glad it went to 40 F the next day. March `04... 28" in the flat spot in the middle of the patio. Had to step on the coffee table to climb out of the sliding glass door `cause around the houses, cars, bushes it was four feet and more deep. Thunder, lightning and 55 mph wind that even hit Cape Hatteras that day! 14 here yesterday morning, didn't break 30, today we will!
  6. Gotta test the motor, rest of the stuff gets here Wednesday they've got 1.5 gallon jugs of distilled for sale several places around so have to pick up a few and get started while it's too nippy for most anything outside for me. Got the first three candidates lined up already two new to me and the first mfsl I ever got. Hope the ultrasonic doesn't interfere with the wifi
  7. Are those beans dried 'naturally" like just in the sun without being washed? That's close to being the honey process where the shell is taken off but that's it, the mucilage is left on (like the brittle thin stuff around a roasted peanut). That is terrific when started with good beans, got a 6 oz sample put in my last order of coffee and been on it for the last four days... will end tomorrow drat!
  8. You guys would laugh at me being cold when I took the trash out at 6:30 this morning. It's 60F in the house at nighttime and I went outside in my sweatpants and a tshirt when it was 20F. I've got to tell you that I'm still pretty quick!
  9. Well, I'll have to play the keepers! Janis huh? She covered the airwaves here a decade later in `79 Now this gals voice grabbed me when I heard them on tv doing spring break or something in the rain at the beach. Not saying there is any comparison except in female and the emotions expressed!
  10. So plans got changed, some LPs will be here Saturday when the previously scheduled trip happens. Doesn't sound like it will even be a whole crate, but I'm going to ask if he's just planning on putting a stack in the front seat just to put a crate upright open to the back and put the seat belt on it! The spinner got here from Baton Rouge this morn, just need the tub and the tergikleen to arrive!
  11. Heck Yea! My original pressing still sounds ok, and ya know what? I always noticed it was heavier than a lot of the other records I had. Some of these re-releases are really primo.
  12. Not really I'd call it self-imposed brainwashing, not with admonishment though. It is on the individual to make behavioral changes.
  13. Yep I searched for it and it looks like it earned the Rocky in the name!
  14. Glad you mentioned that, the one I talked about won't quite go fine enough to make expresso.
  15. Did I mention the time I talked with Bruce for a few minutes? Springsteen that is... he was in town for two sold out shows after the "Born in the USA" record came out. Nils was walking around the mall with big ol Clarence Clemmons! Saw them a few minutes before I noticed Bruce was the one that walked into the record bar at closing without Joe up front telling him to get lost! Note the sticker Dave
  16. Yes when I messed up my photos stored at the site and got tired of editing them I started using that too Paul. Found it by rt clicking on posts made by folks that post a lot of pics, now I'm one of `em! I use the itty-bitty app on my desktop: https://postimages.org/app Last Friday... bummed me out. So I logged into discogs and snagged another Mastered at Abbey Road, DMM, 200g RUSH LP that I never had. A good friend had this one and I was over there all the time so I didn't need it. That Moving Pictures sounds so good, like a half speed that I found this: The pre-cursor to the precursor for 2112
  17. Hey @Pete H they had good reviews at amazon for that * baratza, but I'd already fallen in love with one made by Bodum. Two have lasted me almost twenty years now and both those twelve step places did one thing...... made me addicted to coffee!! That Bodum electric burr is getting towards a bill last time I looked but nothing else I've witnessed (& I used to have some friends in the high tax brackets) would grind as evenly and consistently even sized grounds as what I use! The newer one I have is more quiet than the first so as long as I can get good beans I'm Happy!
  18. Got those titles covered already.. my kinda music that you like too! No Carl from Lake Mary was already talking to him & mine will be in better shape sometime soon! My fragile was brand new a couple of years ago!!
  19. You've had day after day of that close to 100% down there in TX this week huh? We had all the foggy days, thunderstorms, loads of rain too! Cool wind all day yesterday and low 30s in the 7:00 hour today. Used to be the coldest in the 5:00 hour forever, since that big tsunami it is in the 7-8 hour.
  20. Like that horizontal not-sheet paneling in the room there. Glass brick window? If those are thick seems like they would insulate well, & good rehabbing this weekend!
  21. Those are interesting @Full Range, like the gray rubbery stuff in the front of the upright piece to help prevent movement and damage to the items. Thanks for the heads up on those LPs for sale. Things are happening, caught my brother in a good mood yesterday and while talking he expressed his appreciation for something that I've been tackling the past six months or so. This Tuesday he's going to bring those four crates of records up here and man, I'm going to be busy. Already ordered the motor/LP spinner, got to narrow down the ultrasonic I'll invest in today. The 40khz variety that is available in my budget all have one year warranties. A few have the sweep function that varies the khz by 3 or so cycles so that there aren't any "hot spots" in the tank. Thinking I might put it to use then pass along through the garage sale here possibly. If a place I've found in the midwest here turns out to be legit I've got a line on a SharperTek with a two year warranty. Found prices that amounted to too good to be true on a Crest 45khz unit also but that place splashes "call us with any questions" on their nicely done site then doesn't answer the phone. The way I'm wired that's my most basic "sniff test" for www purchasing, it's a no-go. Any of you that clean your LPs have a preference for the surfactant that you use that works well? Yea, I've searched and have it narrowed down, just curious. Drying might be manual and that could add a year! Figure with the limitations of the usage constraints time wise it would take me a year or so to clean what I have already then the "new" stuff that looks good enough to attempt. Then I might be done with collecting records `cause I know I'll have to downsize in the future sometime. The size of my collection could triple if there are a lot that trip my trigger in those crates. It's possible that @Dave1290 will have some competition soon for his unofficial DJ moniker!
  22. Nope I disagree, and if you didn't see them play any other games the past 29 games or prior you wouldn't know. Clemson did not stick to their game plan played the same no matter the opponent. I watched LSU use that formula and win pretty big. Clemson.. something went wrong there and they didn't win.
  23. Lived the FL life for a decade it was kinda like that!
  24. Klipsch would be smart if they used stacks of mwm's with horns on top or a few pair of jubes on stage to initiate the inexperienced! Those folks have the coin to pick those up on a whim!
