  1. Nothing at all wrong with this receiver, I need hookups it doesn't have! I'll put a negotiable fair price on it, maybe that will get it where it can make some sweet sounds and gnarly explosions again!
  2. Fine Line, Shibata, Micro Line there are more names for that type of honing. Whatever it is called by the manufacturer. They fit the groove better, do less harm to the record and get more of the sound out of that groove. Once you've heard `em you won't consider elliptical again. NEVER EVER!
  3. Hey guys, didn't spell it out well. Think I should keep it? I do hate it when a song with a particular "weight" to the presence or ambiance that it can fill me with is F'd by a popping! "Echos" has tonnage of that weight with me, just like "And You And I" does... I sent that lp back with it's pop at the intro.
  4. First part of "Echos" is what's messed up. "Meddle" my friend!
  5. Finally got a copy of one I had back in the day. But..... a great song, the great song on this record that has a quiet start has a minute blemish. When played it sound like a scratch through about ten revolutions. A brand new sealed copy is what it looked like. The rest of it is as it should be & this was their only copy. What say you?
  6. & you're good about posting what he's had trouble doing recently!
  7. Hate, hate, hate the DC I-95 bypass. Was driving my sister-in-law from FL to MA when a crazy blew by us while we were at 75mph. Have you ever seen a Suburban sized large suv do a 360 in front of you? I do not mean wheels on the ground 360, I mean it twisted sideways it's roof was parallel with the roof of a vehicle in the adjacent lane before it finished flipping sideways and crash-landed into the cars two lanes over from where it started. & we were in her teeny tiny kia syphilis (this was 1998)!
  8. With those nice LaScalas yep you'd better get that kind of a sub built, good choice. I can get away with my mass produced good one only because I missed out on the folded horn Klipsch a while back... my back appreciates that though!
  9. I'm happy for you too bud! Won't forget we had those exact same issues with that title pressed by fri music. It would be nice to have mine on lp again but the disc I have is pretty darn good for this Yes fan. Discogs has that in NM condition "complete" for $54 shipped from my country. Not for me today though.
  10. @Full Range Wow! the holy grail of vinyl almost! Or is it a half-speed too. I have a couple of cds that are "Made in Japan" some with the obi some not, they are noticeably better sounding than other copies! Enjoy the trip!
  11. That's off of International Drive, towards town from DD nice digs! Killer perks! It took me a year or so to find out that it wasn't the Floridians that drove like that @dtel it was the people from overseas visiting, renting the Cadillacs and such. Going towards Disney there once I saw one mini-van veer four over in front of a tour bus with Brazilians (when the world cup was there) to get off at IDrive. I was stuck for a while cause the stupids in front of me had to rubberneck and would not move around the debris. They drive the same here in my sanctuary town, seems they have a particularly hard time staying on the right side of the road. It's freakin scary out there. Can't turn off the anti-collide stuff on the `16 Honda it wobbles the wheel every time one of em barrels towards me on my side. Like those 362s you pictured, they look formidable.
  12. Long Live the US Cowboy!! @Dave1290
  13. @dtel Dang is that near the Grand Floridian hotel? Looks like one of the half a dozen close Downtown Disney then towards I-Drive that I recoated a few of.
  14. Those are great B&Ws, should go on the portrait wall! *been hectic here lately..... Thursday when I was edging the lawn I heard something scurry across the street and hit the leaves near me. Looked up and this was five feet away: So it's here in our neighborhood and not going away, first time I've seen one from the day it was born through a few weeks later. Last of this one next time one of those football sized turtles, the redtail, a brown eagle or a coyote is near I'll try to snap a shot of them.
  15. It was 92 in here when the new ac system got cranked up for the first time. After five or so he measured at the return in the hall 90 degrees, at a vent on the floor in the den.... 54!! Man that felt c-c-cold the metal vent was colder! Amazing what you can get on a promissory note. Glad that we could too! Thunderstorm tonight did nothing for interior humidity it's under 50% without using the dehumidifier!
  16. whiskey sour bud Don't keep the syrup, spoonful of sugar does that with the ice. Don't hold your breath....but you might be surprised next week @oldtimer
  17. End of one bit^&in' last 30 hours "Gotta Keep On Smilin' "
  18. That will be nice Carl, electric bill has been up to $120 past three months with the heat already. Right now after an hour long thunder shower it's now 84 in here with 80%.... it sucks, the piano will have to be tuned again for sure with double the humidity it's supposed to be at. This Yahama was made down in TX forget where, but she says it keeps the tune well except for getting the soundboard damp.
  19. It's only 16 @CECAA850 but accompanied by that furnace fan and how it runs a strong 16 easily and 17 more than likely according to formula he was putting in the laptop. Dead one was a 10 so the improvement should be noticeable coupled with mastic or tape repairs to the knocked loose duct under there. Can't get under there like I could when I was 18-35.
  20. Same here @WillyBob I'm very glad we've got the cloud cover today!!
  21. Bet that different locales come into play with the pricing of this too. This includes enlarging the intake in the hallway and repairing some duct work under the house so it's about $400 higher than it was, 3/4 of the way from 7k to 8k is more than I wanted to pay but the brand is better and they'll be here at 8am tomorrow with everything to get us cool again.
  22. Went back and read the info from @Tarheel and @Wardsweb about the ac stuff, thanks folks! The motor on our compressor seized yesterday around 4:30, no doubt what it was. The capacitor is fine, contacts good. It died and it was from 1991. Furnace was from `99. looking at those dates thinking we came out pretty good but 90 degrees & 60% + humidity inside feels like FL in that duplex I was in for a while. Just signed away almost 8K for a 2.5 ton 2 sp compressor and two speed furnace and coil. All American Standard but da*=it, here we go again with more owed:
  23. Walked into the room after maintenance most of the day and just putting on half worn clothes instead of getting a shower... copacetic for now. Stuck on a group I haven't listened to in a while. You might have put them in the "hair band" category but they're more talented than that. Lead singer's got a pretty good range, the tunes are composed almost like each LP of theirs is thematic... one is. This was their first.

    The Other Discs

The company you keep can sure change the outcome of things, you're right @JohnKuthe but I'd hate to have missed out on "Oh Atlanta" for those Saturday road trips down there!!
