  1. I'm probably going to still go for it, DIY plans for the bass bin are available and the K-402, drivers and crossover schematics are all still out there and available.

     

    Looks like a tough build though, I've never built anything more than boxes.

    I asked, it was confirmed that they're gone and I was told Klipsch is in the process of removing it from the website.

    I don't know if the quote is up to date, It was $10,295 for two of the KPT-JUBILEE/535-B two half years ago from American Cinema. 

     

    This was when I bought my pair of KPT-904-Ms.

    It would be cool to build a pair that adds enough height to be front ported, it would make these speakers a lot easier to place. My KLF20s and KLF30s always wanted to be closer to the wall than their rear ports would allow.

     

    I'm looking forward to seeing the finished results and possibly the measurements from the OP. I've always liked the looks of the KLF towers and I think developing an upgraded version is a worthwhile project.

    I got rid of them because I heard a pair of KI-396 and was really impressed, even though they lacked a little on the low end compared to the Cornscalas. I eventually replaced the KI-396s with KPT-904s.

You're making too big of deal out of this, I no longer have my Cornscalas, but resonance issues were easily fixed with 4 lengths of 1 3/8" dowel rod to better couple the front and rear panel together. I used glue and clamps to attach them to the front panel and flush mounted bolts to attach to the rear. 

  7. This one deserves more attention as it's basically a KPT-435-M but all in one box. And since it's a cinema surround it shouldn't have a behind the screen voicing.  It should be ready to go for 2-channel use. This should definitely kick the pants off my KI-396-SMA-IIs, which I love.

    A stock pair in perfect cosmetic condition will go for anywhere between $600-$800. Mahogany will probably be most sought after.....then medium oak and black will be at the lower end of what someone might be willing to pay.

     

     

    They also came in light oak, which will probably bring the lowest price.

    Then buy the buy the length you need in the gauge you need (probably 12ga), but pure copper wire has a shelf life of about 10 years or so and tin plated copper will last many, many decades.

Assuming 4 ohms is the lowest impedance of your speakers, a speaker wire run can be no more 0.2-ohms total. 20 feet of 16AWG Pure Bare Copper would be 0.1606 ohms, well under the 0.2-ohm limit. On the other hand, 20 feet of 16AWG CCA would be 0.2362 ohms, well OVER the 0.2-ohm limit.

     

     

    Why would someone use 20 ft of speaker wire? It's going to be more like 6 or 7 ft for most people and far less if you're using mono blocks. And using 14ga wire would solve all of it. This is so bogus.
