Thank you SIR ... know you have had a few of these
-
You would be amazed. They are much tighter and crisper then my Cornwall's ... bought the Cornwall's in 1985 new and thought I would never replace them ... think I will have Cornwall's as rear surround speakers now. Cheers, Emile
-
Thanks Mark, Yes, think the might be "acceptable" to the wife now Wanted to reveneer them in walnut, but that was just too big a job especially since I wanted to listen to them (and not wait 6 months ... ). Cheers, Emile

Looks like a "Chinese" factory job
-
Yeah not bad ... "Chinese" factory job
-
OK What do you all think! (Don't look too close ... not really attached; have to get velcro from the Depot.) Cheers, Emile
-
Awesome! Yes ... but ordered some cheap Chinese knockoffs Guess just to see what it will look like Sunday 4pm ... time for wine (Sunday's is an hour earlier ...) Cheers, Emile
-
Hi, GREAT! Thanks! Pics helped. Grille #1 done. See pic. Yes; was too lazy to cut out circular holes for the individual ports And ... if I would have known about these (see your last pic) I probably would have build my horn boxes the same size Oh well Cheers, Emile
-
Yeah And for the "non" engineers/mathematicians among us ... 2" versus 1" throat means FOUR times bigger area So; 4x better Cheers, Emile
-
Carl, Thanks a lot ... still trying to figure out what type of badges to get Seems to be the hardest part of the whole project Cheers, Emile

Thank you SIR!

No clue what those badges are any pics? Thanks, Emile

Simple question: what is the next step up from Chorus II?
Emile replied to vasubandu's topic in General Klipsch Info
As noted before ... go "Pro." I just got the 904's (OK; there are bigger and better ones). Dual 15" woofer and 3" voicecoil with 2" throat horns. Unbeatable Cheers, Emile -
OK ... bit late Got my 904's a couple of weeks ago. Have them in my "TV room," replacing a set of Cornwall's. Hooked up separately from my AV system ... powered by a Marantz 2252B (with a decent NAD CD player). Just AWESOME! Yes, "only 52W/ch) but at 1/4 volume they are giving 90dB's. Sound is louder than the Cornwall's (yes; they are more efficient) but "range" is just unbelievable ... bass is incredibly tight (2x 15" woofers) and mid/hi range is incredible ( 3" horn with 2" throat ). Have many Klipsch speakers (and tested a bunch more), but these "pro-series" cannot be beat (and yes ... there are bigger/better ones than the 904's). If you are not getting "awesound sound" then something else is wrong Yes; probably for a full 200 seat theater. IMHO a 10W/ch tube amp will be more than sufficient in a "home setting." Next week I'll try my VTA ST70 tube amp with them Per specs, yes. But really did not bother me ... but I "love" horns I put the horns in a box with a grille and that probably reduced it by 3dB's ... working on grilles for the woofer boxes and don't think there will be a dB drop on those Cheers, Emile

Assume it's $1,000 per foot ... otherwise it's NO GOOD
-
Thanks! Yes, working on grilles for the woofer boxes. No clue what to do for badges ... may just get the (sorry) cheap Chinese knockoff's ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Logo-plastic-Silver-color-80-mm-3/152770997248?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D44040%26meid%3Df12f98c3a5c54aca8e577704352a9f83%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D152863494827&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Oval-Logo-plastic-Silver-30mm/152561081123?hash=item2385595b23:g:IMwAAOSwdx1aAuUg ) unless I hear it's "blasphemy" etc etc ... Cheers, Emile
-
OK; with the woofer box Will make grilles for those next week. Cheers, Emile
-
Done (again ) Pic is chopped off due to 2mb limit.
-
Add-on ... Took the horns "off" and put them in a separate box (for the wife )
-
They are dual 15" woofers ... cabinet is about 27x43x17.5 ... slightly bigger than Cornwall's. Cheers' Emile
-
Check out Bob Latino's site ... http://www.tubes4hifi.com/bob.htm . Just got a ST70 from him and it is AWESOME! And affordable Cheers, Emile
-
Re your listing ... Have Cornwall's, KG4's and a bunch of other Klipsch speakers. LOVE them (with Bob Crites' Ti diaphragm updates) ... but ... just got a pair of KPT-904 theater speakers ( http://assets.klipsch.com/product-specsheets/KPT-904-Data-Sheet-v04.pdf and these are UNBELIEVABLE ... way beyond the "consumer" Klipsch speakers. Horns are 3" diaphrams (i think) with a 2" throat -- much better/bigger than Cornwall's/Forte's/etc. yes "200 seat" speakers. ) Plus; (if you can find them) they are "cheaper" than Cornwall's. See my thread under " Klipsch Professional KPT-904" Paid $750 for mine and now using my Cornwall's as rear speakers Cheers, Emile
-
Here's one without my "mistake" grille ... Will post more when "done." Cheers, Emie
-
OK; starting a new thread to show "mistakes" made by members.Sure we have all been there and made stupid mistakes Willing to contribute to "worst mistake of the week" via PayPal. Here is my "last mistake." Bought a pair of KPT-904's ( http://assets.klipsch.com/product-specsheets/KPT-904-Data-Sheet-v04.pdf ) and WAF is about 1.0 out of 10. So; decided to take the horns "off" and build a separate box for them. Box was build ... Heritage cloth came in from Bob Crites ... made grille frames and glued on the fabric. But ... IDIOT me ... forgot to paint the grille frame black - see pic. Have made more "mistakes" hooking up equipment, etc ... Would love to see "your mistakes." Cheers, Emile

Thanks ... sounds like a winner! Cheers, Emile
