I listened to the RC3II at a klipsch dealer and I don't think there is anything whimpy about it. I listened to the RF3II and then had them turn off the towers and just the center and it was powerfull. No lack of muscle there. I would go with the RC3II and when you get the RC7 move it to the rear for your 6.1.

Where did you order the magnets? I would like some too.

Hey guys just wanted to mention to you that I wouldn't limit yourselves to a Klipsch subwoofer. Nothing against them but as I'm sure you know that matching speakers is important but having the same brand name for a sub isn't that important. I have an infinity hps 250 which isn't made anymore I like it but I'm not saying its the best out there. Also for me I tend to like front firing subs more, if I could I would trade mine in for one instead of the downfiring. If you want a real powerful sub that is clear and your not worried about price, sunfire is the way to go all the way. Other than that I haven't listened to subs in a while so I don't have much for you other than one last point. That is (to me) 15 inch subs aren't as clear as 12 inch subs. thats why I choose mine. It was as loud and powerful as the 15 but so much clearer. Happy hunting.

I was considering buying from brandnamez.com too cause I heard people talk about them and they do have low prices. But I read the reviews. Some where great but I kept reading and found some extremely pissed off customers. So I decided to never buy from them. Most of them say they are extremely slow or lose orders. One customer wrote in bold letter that he is going to sue... after reading them I said no way.

I have a Denon DCM-270 and it is $200, the Denon DCM-370 is $300. I like mine, but received it as a gift, HDCD® Decoding and the coaxial digital output would be nice for the extra $100 dollars.

Toshiba makes good DVD players and has all that good stuff for only $290

Thanks for all of your quick respones. You know all the people on the Klipsch forum really know their stuff. I also joined the Polk Audio forum to learn about the 800i and compare them to the RF3=II. The polk people don't seem to know as much. Also these Klipsch and Polk Audio both sound great, so I couldn't decide what I wanted, both are great. But after numerous messages, research and listening I think I am ready to buy the Klipsch before the summer. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Ok my first question is, is it true that you can't blow a horn or is that a rumor. Or is it just hard to do? My second question is that I hear the Klipsch horns can be painfull after a while if listening for awhile. For example someone told me that after a 2 hour movie their ears hurt. Is it just because they listen to loud? Is it just during the break-in period? Should someone just turn down the treble to avoid this? If people could give me their honest opinions it would be appreciated.

I had that problem to. First of all you are right with the optical cable, keep it hooked up to that. Next look at the cover of the dvd, does it say dts, or just dolby digital, because not all dvd's are dts. then go to your dvd player. Turn it to stream/pcm, at least thats what I had to set it to. Yours may differ look in the manual. Finally on my denon 2802 I have to turn my input mode to auto, which automatically detects which singal it is,or turn it to dts. Usually the auto picks it up better. All of these setting have to be done for it to work. Just because your receiver has dts doesn't mean it will detect it automatically so look in the manual or on your receiver. Hopefully this should work. Enjoy! I was wondering what the width of the RF3-II's were including the feet. I know they are 9 inches with just the box, but what are they with the feet. If someone who owns them could please measure theirs and tell me it would be greatly appriecated.

I have the Denon 2802 and I love it. Does everything I want and thensome. Sounds clear, works awesome for music or movies. I plan on getting the RF3 II's very soon and everyone in this forum tells me that the Denon and Klipsch match up great. You will love this receiver and its ease of use.

Go with the Denon. I can't find the onkyo in my crutfield magazine so it must not be worth mentioning. I had to go online to find it and I'd still stick with the Denon. Onkyo is a nice brand but I'd stick with their higher end models, their lower end models aren't as great. The Denon will make you smile.

What ever you go with I'm sure you will be fine. I have never had experience with the H/K but I have two things to say about them: 1. They have less watt/channel but have more amps per channel 2. They only allow one set of main speakers. This is a major down fall because many times I want 4 front speakers playing. Or you might have 2 nice clear speakers for movies and music, and 2 speakers for pounding beer party music which is nice to have. I have experienced the Denon because I bought the 2802 and I have absolutely no complaints. I find it extremely easy to use, clear, and powerfull. I too was in the H/K, Denon, Onkyo debate. I narrowed it down to the Denon and Onkyo because I heard better things about them than the H/K. However, I went with the Denon because my brother owns the Onkyo 777 which is the older version of the 797 and I didn't want to copy him. I like and so does he. Actually it is very easy to use and has and extra input over the Denon and H/K. So I don't know why everyone doesn't recommend the Onkyo because I think it is the best one out there for you. The THX surround EX is nice to have. So I would rank the receivers 1. Onkyo 2. Denon 3. H/K What every you get be sure to brag it up to your friends because they are all nice to show off.

That depends. Do you want one with progressive scan or not? Do you also want 5 disc changer? My family has always bought Toshiba, we find them to be reliable and we have never had a complaint, and the price is great. Here are two that are sold at American. I am debating between the Polk Audio 800i's and the Klipsch RF3 II's. I can get the Polk's for a little cheaper, but I am willing to pay for the Klipsch. Any advice would help. This would also affect which center channel I get too because I want it to match the towers.
