I only take cash and pick-up only. I make preference to the Original Poster first. My family is leaving for a 7-week out-of-country vacation this Friday evening, so I'm not available for a while. ---------------- please contact me at killerbee_vr6@yahoo.com when you return.

You dont even have your location posted... for all I know you could be in New York and take 2 weeks to pick it up. ---------------- If you notice, this is a thread I created looking for a sub. Why come in here and use the post I made to try to get the sub before me?
  5. While I realize it's a public forum, why be an *** and try to jack someone's purchase?

  7. let me know how much you want for it.
  8. I have had very good results with B&K with my CIIs and FIIs.
  9. EDIT - misread your post - somehow got Forte confused with Chorus. LOL. Frankly, I just don't see a Forte being in the same class as a big Epic speaker - at least bass-wise. Smaller cabinets, and smaller active driver area = less bass, all things being equal. The cabinets are only 4.1 cu feet, only half the size of the CF-4 cabinets and the power handling capacity is only 1/3 that of the CF-4. ---------------- I think the bass of the Forte would surprise you.

So for me, the Signature was a better bet. Smarter decision says go with the Mark. Subwoofer freak like say the Ear, says go with the Signature lol. ---------------- the Pioneer CS-R700 has a sensitivity of 91db @ 1w. Klipschorns would scare you.

You can't defy the laws of physics, those drivers don't have the suspensions for the 3" excursions necessary to do so. I can't even imagine what that would do to upper bass frequencies.
  12. I would blow those Dalis up in about a second. If I'm going to lay out $12,000 for speakers, they'd better pack more than a pair of 8" woofers.
  13. My mom had klf30s until the front panels on each came unglued. They were similar to the Chorus/Forte, with less low bass and somewhat brighter. The ports would become audibly overloaded and the bass would lose focus at high volumes. I wouldn't consider the KLF series if the Quartet/Forte/Chorus was available for the same price. I worked at a stereo shop that had multiple front/rear panel failures of the KLF series.
  14. I have had KLF10s and now have Chorus IIs ad Forte IIs. The CDs in my CD player right now are Audioslave, Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver and Nine Inch Nails, so you can see where my musical tastes are. The Forte and Chorus flatten the KLFs in every category. They have tighter, deeper bass, clearer mids and highs, and superior soundstages. They also will blast them out of the room if it's party time.
  15. Would you recommend a QSC amp? I can't find much info on any of the pro amps and any opinions would help. ---------------- On 6/22/2004 3:43:56 PM TBrennan wrote: killer---The pro amps are aimed at a different market; people who use amps as tools instead of at hobbyists who have an emotional interest in their amps. Such people are often more hard-nosed than audio hobbyists and have little tolerance for the BS that many audio hobbyists swallow. Thus they buy amps from an objective point of view; they ask what does this thing do and for how much money. So an amp will sell for less to pros than to hobbyists. Generally pro amps are more reliable when working under severe conditions. Or they should be. Many have excellent sound, QSC amps for instance. Indeed I've heard QSC amps in hi-fi systems that are unsurpassed in sound quality, IMO. At one time many audiophiles used Crown amps and loved them even though it's now fashionable to rap them. But there are many KHorns out there powered by Crowns. It's just that those people aren't writing on these forums. If the Crowns appeal to you try them out. If you don't like them bring them back. Most music stores will let do so; Guitar Center gives you 30 days to bring anything back. ----------------
  16. I've been looking at some Crown pro amps and wondering how they are so inexpensive in comparison to the power figures they quote. I can get a Crown K2 for $1300 that has 475wpc? what gives? edit: sorry I spilled milk in the keyboard and had to clean it out. sigh. anyways, how would the K2 compare in sound quality to a conventional "home" amp? I'm looking for more power than the 100wpc I have, and these are tempting.
  17. I don't think you'll be happy with the KLF30. Look into a Forte or Chorus perhaps.
  18. It's the low-frequency section from a pro Scala.
  19. I don't care for the Reference series, either. I've heard them in a million rooms (set up systems throughout college) and they always pale in comparision to the old Heritage series.
