  1. SVS CS ULTRA W/1000 watt amp - $1399. Talk about a great sub and a great price. This message has been edited by RWMIN on 01-27-2002 at 05:36 PM
  2. One Ultra should do justice with that system. If cost wasn't a concern then I would go for the SS just because it's the best of the SVS line and it should look and perform as such.
  3. Denon, Yamaha, Outlaw, Inegra, Pioneer Elite, ect... are all good HT Units. I think they will all be worth the money. Some of us like one over the other but again, I think all of them are worth the price. I have a Denon 3300 and I just love it.
  4. If the Woofs don't move then there's a problem. Call Klipsch and see what they say.
  5. I look forward to seeing some specs on one of those new subs.
  6. The VTF-2 is sold factory direct. Be careful where you buy it and maybe check up on some of these online companies at www.AudioSurvey.com before you buy.
  7. 105 DB max and 90db @ 25hz. That's not bad for the KSW 12. It should do fine. For about $500 delivered you could buy the HSU VTF-2 and get 107 db / 20hz~93 db / 25hz~99 db. It would take several KSW 12's to best the HSU at 25 hz. Just something to think about. This message has been edited by RWMIN on 12-28-2001 at 07:51 PM

    Lf10

I had 2 Lf 10's. The first leaked around the active and passive drivers. The replacement (sub#2) had an amp problem and only lasted a couple of weeks.
  9. RAY DEAM pressed two opinions. I rebuted 1 of them. Drug lords don't protect their crops or multi-million dollar shipments of pot like they do their shipments of other drugs? They face the exact problems smuggling pot as they do more hard core drugs. The mild "effects of pot on oneself" in comparison to other hard core drugs and alcohol isn't the issue. If you purchase "illegal" drugs you contribute to the manner in which they have been provided. Have any of you seen the Police Video of the State Trooper being over-powered and murdered on the side of the road by the three pot smugglers he pulled over? How do you think his wife and kids would feel if they visited this forum and read your posts? Perhaps they should get a grip, after all the "illegal" use of a mild drug like pot doesn't and never has hurt anyone. I have a family member in the police dept also nearly killed by a drug smuggler. I guess I need to find a place with a bit more morality or maybe just get a grip. This message has been edited by RWMIN on 11-25-2001 at 12:27 AM
  10. HSU Research VTF-2 $450 107.1 db max / 93 db~20 hz / 99 db~25 hz.(Nousaine data) That's probably about the best performance for that amount of money. This message has been edited by RWMIN on 11-14-2001 at 08:13 PM
  11. Let us know what you think when you get it. I need another sub to bring up the rear.
  12. I have had a Velodyne HGS 12 and loved it. I sold it and bought a Paradigm PW 2200. I like the PW peaks that the Velodyne Didn't have but I miss the LOW bass from the Velodyne. Anyway, the Vels are really good subs. I think the SPL 12 specs would be closer to that of the HGS 15 rather then the HGS 12 as far as output but the HGS subs are CLEAN! Here is some info on the HGS and SPL 12 as tested by Tom Nousain with a 10% THD limit. The HGS 12 specs would be about 6 db less then the HGS 15 across the board and the FSR 12 or FSX 12 would be just about the same across the board with the HGS 12. Velodyne FSR 15 - 109.1 / 16hz ~ 90.1 / 25hz ~ 103.1 Velodyne HGS 15 - 107.7 / 16hz~89.1 Velodyne SPL 12 - 107.1 / 20hz ~ 90 / 25hz ~ 99 SVS 20-39cs - 109.5 / 20hz ~ 91 / 25hz ~ 105.8 (w/ 300 watt amp) ($850) HSU VTF-2 - 107.1 / 20hz ~93 / 25hz ~ 99 ($450) I have made purchases from Onecall and they are a top rated online store in electronics for good reason. I tossed in some info on the SVS because I like T.V. and his subs are worth mentioning. This message has been edited by RWMIN on 10-29-2001 at 08:23 PM
  13. What's a thingamajig like that go for? I am looking for a decent cd player as my DVD won't play my cd-r's or cd-rw's. It would be nice to have one that does Progressive DVD, DVD Audio, SACD, CDR, CDRW, ect...
  14. I've got a set of 10's and to me they are very harsh. I bought a pair of KLF 30's and now I can play music for hours. With just the 10's I could only go for about 30 minutes before my ears hurt. I would go and listen to the 2 sets if possible and choose what you like best. Denon 3300 KLF 30's KLF C7 KLF 10's KSF S5 Paradigm PW 2200
  15. We miss you HornEd. I hope all is well.
  16. The SVS CS Ultra is a top-notch sub as is the company! You won't miss the RSW 15 at all IMO.
  17. I suspected your problem was due to a boost in the treble area. Everytime you plus 3 db it doubles the power and can cause that kind of trouble.
  18. I was just wondering if you have treb & bass controls on that unit and if so, what are they set at?
  19. I started out w/Klf 10's myself. I bought the KSF S5's as suggested by the manual. I later bought a pair of KLF 30's and moved my 10's to the rear with the 5's. I think that a pair of 20's or 30's would be the best. Exspecially when you think of 5 ch stereo. If another pair of towers isn't an option then you may want to go with the RS7. My KSF S5's are at +5-6 db to keep up with the efficient Legends they are paired with. Because of that I would also suggest the RS 7 to the RS3. I have not heard the new line (rs7) but I think that the KSF S5 or KSP S6 would be a better tone match then the RS 3 for the Legends. Denon 3300 Klf 30's Klf 10's Klf C7 Ksf S5 Paraidgm PW 2200
  20. My Denon/Legend combo is smooth as silk to me.
  21. Don't settle for the dealers inventory, order what you want. I would also go with the Denon 4802.
  22. I have heard it and I do like it(KSF C5). The surrounds even won some Hi-Fi award or something once. I don't think they (KSF S5's) are a perfect match for the Legends but they are close. And like you said, They are very clear. I haven't gotton to listen to the C7 vs. the C5 but I think the KLF C7 is absolutely terrific. I Love the C7, it might be the best vocal speaker I have. The C5 may be as good but I have only got to hear it once long ago and again it was good.
  23. The best match for the KLF 10's in a WDST speaker in The KSF S5.
  24. I think the 20's and a C7 would be great. I have heard the 20's and they are very nice indeed. If it wasn't for my new dirt bike and the kids quad I would buy a set to replace my 10's with. I think that the 30's would be at their absolute best with 200 wpc too!
