  1. Hello all, I know some of you have Velodyne subs, so here is an opportunity to get a driver to replace a damaged one or to have as a spare. The driver is in excellent condition. This is from the Servo FSR-15 subwoofer. Includes circuit board as well. Audition at time of purchase to verify that it works correctly. Reason for sale: Amp started making noise and not worth the cost to repair. I already sold the amp, cabinet and speaker grill locally. Pick up in Big Rock, IL 60511 Asking 100
  2. Hello all, I converted this sub to passive a while back. It works great! Tons of good quality bass from a small enclosure. I installed binding posts on the bottom. The insides went to another forum member, but the outside looks the same. The drivers are all in excellent condition. The grills and badges are in excellent condition with no snags, rips, etc. The cabinet is in very good condition as well. This is a great opportunity to use this as is with your own amp, or to use it for parts. The last time there was the 10" driver on eBay, it alone was going for $200. Local pick up only. I will demo at time of purchase to verify that it works as stated. Big Rock, IL 60511 (Far Western burbs of Chicago) Asking $300
  3. I had many sw12's and sw15's over the years. All of them were turned into passive subs as the amps all went bad of course. I wouldn't waste any time on any of them anymore...there's so much better out there. I don't know if I would even spend $35 for the sub and passive these days... let alone $170 plus tax ( $135+$35 shipping)
  4. Now when they start talking hydrogen fuel cells, then I'll start paying attention. Right now all of those electric cars/mowers/scooters/etc. are mostly powered by coal and nuclear plants... unless you have your OWN solar array on your property that recharges your things. (Only a small percentage of my Comed power comes from renewable) Check out the Toyota Mirai... the 2nd generation actually looks pretty sharp and it's Hydogen fuel cell technology. Sure, it takes some power to create the hydrogen... but you don't have millions of spent batteries to dispose of or other countries to rely on for essential raw materials for batteries. ...or cars on fire that can't be easily extinguished because of burning batteries. https://www.toyota.com/mirai/
  5. I was just up at my brother's place today... and the LXI is now on Garage duty! Still pumping out the tunes!
  6. Nothing. Just downsizing.... growing family. ...and groceries aren't getting any cheaper!!! I have a pioneer VSX-56TXi I'm keeping for my 2.2 system... and the remote works perfectly. So that's why the 74 is for sale.
  7. They make some great drivers over there.... B&C https://bcspeakers.com/en
  8. I agree...and especially hard to find anything that will still work after 10+ years!
  9. Sure thing. I told him if he lowered the price to $100, someone would buy them for the parts. Well, that afternoon he lowered it to $150. Then, later he lowered it to $100. I saw this morning that it's gone.
  10. Too funny... my brother still has one! He uses it in his computer setup! Whoever made it did one heck of a job because it's on constantly and still works!!!
  11. Hello all, These are posted for $300 in Elburn, Illinois. I message asking about the visible mildew at the bottom and the overall condition. He said they were in very good condition only a small issue with the passive radiator. I offered $200 pending in-person inspection and he agreed. I showed up and they are absolute garbage. Water/humidity damage, so much so that the cabinet seems are clearly separating. Mildew. Several gouges on the cabinets. One passive has a rip. 2 of the 4 drivers have messed up dust caps. I asked if he was willing to work on the price and he totally blew me off and said these are nice speakers. (Again, making me thing what do people consider" not so nice" condition.) If he would work on the price, it might be nice for some spare parts...however, you have to take into account the environment these speakers endured over their lifetime. I posted this so that you have more details if you are local and considering buying these. I hope this helps. I will never get back the 45 minutes it took me to check them out in person.
  12. After the Walkman era, our Family bought their first new "stereo system".... containing this 1990's gem. (The previous family stereo was a heathkit my dad built) Oh boy, if I had a penny for all of the copyright laws I broke with this dual cassette deck, then I could probably retire already!
  13. I had a set a few years back. Several of the woofers had loose dust caps when I received them, so while I had the drivers out to do the repairs, I decided to try something else in the mean time. I wanted to try the popular Ciare 321 woofers( link at the bottom) everyone was using, but they were out of stock at the time. (Plus these are a somewhat expensive investment at around $750 after taxes, etc.) So, I decided to take the path less traveled and I tried the aluminum cone Dayton Audio drivers(Around $525 after taxes, etc. Link below) I liked the aluminum cone with the rubber surround. They aren't quit as efficient as the OEM drivers, so you can do one of three things, enjoy them as they are, run a sub with them or bi-amp the speakers and adjust the levels accordingly. Dare I say the drivers were as good or better than the stock 12's?!?!
