You would hang a basket ball goal on the same size of post and a lot higher. It is mostly about being sure the TV is secure in this scenario I think. I love those articulating arms too where you can adjust in all directions.
Just not sure the weight won’t cause the pole to shift. I’m not sure how deep it is and it’s held at the top by weight on on it. I have had to knock one back in place.

Post could be great to mount to but I’d rather have the TV somewhere else.

I have considered that. Just not sure I should hang a 55” tv from it.

I would love to wall mount mine but it’s in a basement with exposed concrete walls and I don’t want to mess around with that at all.My tv is directly in front of a support pole in my basement. I don’t think it’d be good to mount anything to the pole. I am considering adding to the beam and removing it. Just need someone with more knowledge to look at it. Or I just use a ceiling mount.

Update....
Tech looked at the Lab 12 and said it is functioning perfectly.
Crap. Now I'm spooked a bit about going tubes. I have had Octave and Primaluna with no issues but not on 102db speakers and not in this room.
They asked about dimmers or maybe switching power supplies. The Lab 12 hummed with even small klipsch bookshelves in another room!
Thanks everyone for the help. I had a ridiculous deal on the amp and it sounded wonderful but not quiet at all.
The journey continues....
Did you get to “not hear” the hum at the tech’s shop?

After never finding a new TV stand in the measurements I wanted one to be I went to the hardware store and bought the boards to make one myself. It’ll be shorter and deeper than my current stand and better suited for my Heresy center.
I’m considering mounting my tv from the ceiling. Im trying to have a Heresy center and trying to have a turntable too. Oh. And I have a huge Aragon amp…..

The best stands for Heresy are subwoofers. 😉

Just took delivery of this amp! Who has a "real" one that we can do a side by side test on?
I do not, but am curious to hear the results. Good luck.

I’ve brought home speakers that dripped once. Hosed them down in the driveway. Sold them the next day. Probably the only pair of AR3’s I’ll ever own.

I’ve had 2 Sony die. One was the x700. So 2 Sony surround receiver and 2 Blu-ray in 14 years. I will not buy another Sony anything. Currently using a basic Panasonic I grabbed off Amazon.

How do the pins on the TK and the contact-plate of the arm look? Those are prone to oxidizing... You have one sold with RCA connectors, right?
I replaced that plate and cleaned those. Helped. Replace RCA cable ends. Helped. I think the cable got stressed/stretched. Or it could just be the cart. AT95e IIRC. I keep putting it back on the shelf.

Nice to see another Dual here!
If I could just work out the hum. In the systems I’ve used it on it hums at idle. Leaning towards cable.

Anyone have replacement remote suggestions? Other than a Harmony?
Thank you!

Very much untrue. "Phono" has much more gain and a built-in eq for the records. It boosts bass and cuts treble to compensate for the eq cut into the record (so the stylus can stay in the grooves). The OP's post sounds like he already has it plugged into "Line".
I hear what you’re saying, but signal coming out of a turntable has to be boosted. Either by a built in preamp you connect to a line in or the phono preamp in the receiver itself.

Curious as to the reasoning behind this?
Line level is different than phono. Phono has less “strength”.

I’m glad you figured it out SE88 as I’m in the same boat which is how I ended up here. Can’t say I’ll be back as it appears that the site is infested with trolls. I’ve decided to make two bracket with some aluminum sheet metal and just fabricate it to size, and then paint it.
Cheers.
Trolls? Hmmm. I’ll suggest mounting it above the tv at an angle.

The input leads are terminated with tiny ring terminals that attach to those screws inside. On the outside, you see the stud coming through.
Good point 001 about PWK designing (or at the very least signing off) the connectors. Anyway, I am slightly giddy about this CW as my center speaker. Ok, more than slightly.
Ohhh. Now I get it! I hadn’t ever taken one apart. Cost effective reliable solution.

I do not understand how PWK designed or signed off on that connection design. Can someone here who worked there or knew him explain? Or am I wrong that a screw should be a fine conductor? Perhaps it is zinc plated and that is as good as copper.... no clue here. But that could be it. If that were the case, then I would imagine you should clean up 44 y.o. screws or get new ones.
I think the barrier strip is the conductor. Screws just hold it together.
