  1. Picked this up on RSD in 2020 and was thrilled to get it. In 1972, Rory walked into a radio station in Cleveland to play and chit chat. The result was "Cleveland Calling." One heck of an lp imo. Think I have about all of his or close. Just sooo sooo good!
  2. Must be my turn in the barrel... Sittin here scratchin my head and laffin. CKLW in Detroit, WMMS in Cleveland and Cousin Brucie on WABC in NYC comin right up. Those were my go to stations. CKLW was the dominant Top-40 station for metro Detroit in the 1960s & 70s. Because of it’s powerful nighttime signal, CKLW drew listeners from across Canada & the USA. -wiki Then factor in any darn Motown act Barry Gordy threw out there. Yea, pick one. WMMS - Home of the Buzzard in Cleveland - Broadcasting in QUAD! Never missed one. KILLER! Cleveland stadium was totally rockin EVERY time. If ya ever get this way ya just gotta go here! Yea, Cleveland rocks! Wait, I was gonna play some moosic. πŸ˜‚
  3. How's that mugga werkin for ya this morning @MicroMara? We're gonna have to stop meeting like this. Me on the way out and you clockin in. You got the ball again I'm crashin. Try to incorporate a break into work today. Be a "Pacesetter!" NO PRISONERS! πŸ˜‚
  4. @JohnJ thanks for the ni ni last night. But... How DID Leslie play that Les Paul Jr? Shredded! @Jeff Matthews Let the big horse run brother. Haven't heard Thorpe in forever. Gonna have to pull it and give it a listen. Thanks! You have any idea how long it's been since I heard that @JohnJ? Killer! Beats the heck outta Lawerence Welk and 12AM! Busy day today here! Gotta love night shift! lol
  5. That's one fantastic shot @Invidiosulus. It HOOKS ya when you see it. If that tree, or what's left of it, could only talk. Was it a leftover from a burn there years ago, disease or what? Crazy. Thanks!
  6. Maybe or maybe not. Here's the thing I don't get and never have in the 7-8 years I've been around. I've read mod threads and respect those who started them. Those I asked for help gladly helped me and for them I'll be forever grateful. PWK designed everything and it's proven to be the best thing since sliced bread for me and millions of others. Others talking mods to this and that to make it better, Why? Sure some of the things discussed may work and truly be better but IF they were better why didn't PWK do that in his initial design? Change can be good but you're slapping the man who built the business 75 years ago dead square in the face imo. I'm no electrical engineer but I'll forever appreciate what PWK did for me. Toss JBL and the rest into a bag and PWK has comes to the top, once again imo. EVERYthing is subjective today and always will be but the cream rises to the top as far as I'm concerned. Are my old 81RB LS modded? I guess they are since I had Dean build my networks and I got a pair of Crites tweets. Why? Because "they" said new parts weren't available when I put this system together. Today, I would have gone w/all Klipsch parts just to keep my gear clean. I never heard PWK's networks but Dean's boards floored me and I'm glad he's on board now. Just my .02 worth and haters will always hate so have at it if you want. I'll still share the love.
  7. I'm out! Need my beauty rest. Play nice in the sandbox.
  8. Coming into Blossom... Grab em and relax. You'll be fine in the cheap seats. They'll cover ya like a blankie.
  9. Check out the Tedeschi - Trucks version.
  10. Roger Penske used to run outta the back end of his station wagon when he started. He also owned a Porsche dealership in Toledo, Ohio with another guy while doing it. Don't EVER count him out. IMSA next year w/Porsche, working w/Ganassi racing now on another endeavor and who knows what else. Won't be long til he has the Indy infield full of rides. Think taking the kids on a Ferris wheel ride while the race is running and being able to see the entire track. 20-30 a pop for a 3 minute ride? One smart cookie who wants to make racing a true family fun weekend. Watch. One year when I covered the race he had 1,2 and 3 on the starting grid. Mears, Sullivan and Emmo. Yea, I got him the shot he said no one else did. All 3 cars coming down into the first turn on the green. Vertical shot, grandstand showing w/everyone up. It's hanging behind his desk in his NJ office is what he told me. Cost me some time and money for the laser print, mat and framing I did but I was rewarded @ Xmas time. Penske racing crew team jacket, the youngest daughter swiped one day along w/an etched Penske wine carafe w/all his winners etched on the back and 6 etched wine glasses. I ALWAYS pay it forward. Simple. Zero better than Roger Penske in my book when it comes to racing.
  11. If ya like AZ I know a guy who might be able to get ya a deal on a 4 wheeler and camping trailer. ^^^^^^^ πŸ˜‚
  12. All quiet here except for the State Troopers. District HQ here and they just moved into a new building that cost 2 mil.. They're having a field day is the word I got. Gonna pay for that new building I guess. lol Indy/Nascar this weekend then hit the cemetery this morning for the Memorial Day service.
  13. Pretty darn quiet in here lately...
  14. Penske is tough to beat at Indy. Look at the wins.
  15. πŸ˜‚ The suspense gettin to you too George?
  16. @Jeff Matthews You aren't gonna believe this but that album popped into my head last nite laying in bed. I was thinkin about a playlist for today. lol Quit it! πŸ˜‚ lolololol Such a great old song and I haven't heard it in a couple years. Just funny.
  17. @Marvelthose TAD's were nice for sure. Naturally the high school started a tennis team the year after I graduated and dominated for a long time only because we had a couple great guys running the city park program.
  18. @tube fanatic gonna share one with you and the posse in here. I met this fairly local guy 30 years ago when he was just starting his ministry. He reached out and I was there for him. Pipes? The big man hit the high notes HARD nailing everything he threw out there so I stepped up. He was pullin the high notes outta his toes. He's doing his ministry thing and still kickin so I thought I'd share. He still sends me his cd's but his old ones were truly amazing

@JohnJI'm just stirrin the pot! lol
  21. Correctumundo! I bought a Slazenger something and had it strung with gut. I'd never hit gut but "they" said it would give you more action/speed. That ping from the gut drove me bats*#t crazy so I bought a Head Arthur Ashe which is hangin on my garage wall now. It was ugly too. lolol
  22. @Invidiosulus As a kid I lived on the courts here. My buddy and I were pretty good in high school (no tennis team then) so the guy who ran the park program asked if we wanted to play in a tournament in a bigger town near here so we said ok. He entered us and took us over. No clue who these guys we were playing were but he said they weren't too bad. We got flat KILLED. We couldn't hit Australian twist. No clue what it was coming at us. We couldn't even return a shot. I wound up catching the ball in my left hand throwing it back over to em. We were totally lost and looked up in the bleachers for help and the coach had his nose tent on shaking w/tears rolling down his cheeks from laffin at us. Yea, we got levelled that day. Found out later the one dude was #1 in singles and the two of them were #2 in the state. Brubaker & Winkler didn't cut us a bit of slack on the spin. Nice tennis club though. They even had showers. πŸ˜‚
