Just a word of advice, don’t take the trim off. It was a total pain. I didn’t realize that it was glued along with all the screws. I ended up using plastic trim tools, razor blade and small finishing hammer to get it off. I patched all the holes so the screws would have something to catch when I reinstalled the trim. Also using adhesive as Klipsch did from the factory.

I took DaveA's advice and placed a block of wood alongside the trim and used a hammer to break the adhesive bond to separate the trim from the cabinet. Easy peasy. I elected not to use adhesive when reattaching the trim as they'll no longer get the rough handling that a pair of true road speakers would.

  2. This guy is squirrely AF. I've made a deal with him not once, but twice and he's backed out both times. The first time he said he'd decided that he just couldn't part with them and the second time he told me he had given them to his son.

Exercise will help your metabolism more than just a straight calorie burn and added muscle burns energy like a larger engine in a car burns more gas.

Some recent research reveals that, in rats anyway, exercise stimulates release of a hormone that reduces appetite.

Can someone please help with my Heresey HIP year of manufacture?

    Thank you!

Post in the ask the historian section. Industrial speaker serial numbers do not, by themselves indicate year of manufacture, but Klipsch has records of many of the industrials.

they want to know how loud they would get. My Crown amp has 200 wpc and the speakers are rated at 200 watts per so I thought OK lets just see what they do. I can always fix them if I blow them up. So I get my hearing protection on and crank them up all the way. They got these goofy grins on their faces and walked up to them and stuck their ears close to the drivers and the grins got bigger. So I dial them back down and they ask how much. Not for sale I said again. So the dude opens his wallet and counts out $100 dollar bills until I could not say no. They took them for their band and were thrilled to get them.

I cannot imagine. I'm running an old Marantz 2230 with only 30wpc with my 301's and you could rattle your fillings with that!

  6. Evidently none of us hear the same things.  Listened to a fascinating podcast today about how sound becomes hearing. Amazing audio examples in the podcast showing how our brains process hearing and how we hear what we expect to hear.
