  1. I have asked to talk to some sellers on the phone. Those that have an issue with that I look else where. Some people are on ebay for the wrong reasons. But in my over 300 transactions I only had 3 issues, and 2 times I was shafted. The most part Ebay is great
  2. I sold an entertainment center on ebay. The person jerked me around for nearly a month. They finally paid half and we agree to accept the other half at pick up. Well they backed out and asked for a refund. A refund was provided to the buyer only after subracting the paypal fees, listing fees and selling fees. Those fees added up to over $20. If the buyer never gave me any money I would have had to suck up the listing and selling fees, not to mention the time I spent on email. To get over it is simply like saying take a $20 bill and shred it. The biggest sole problem I have with ebay is the large number of people that think time and effort on behalf of seellers and buyers comes at no cost.
  3. I truly would not look any further than dell. Their laptops are work horses. I have had an Inspiron 5000e for over 3 years. It has been droped in the snow, survived beer spills (important for college) original display. On that same note their extended warranties for laptops A++++. I am not a propnent for ext warranties but laptops suffer a great deal of abuse. The plastice on these thngs can only be made so thick and strong. Plus if you get their Custom Care warranty every thing and anything is covered. Of course shy of running it over with a car or dropping it from a roof top. Don't be swayed buy processor upgrades. What appears to be on paper a 10% performance gain really equates to milliseconds. Ready made systems, well dell has many options and unless you buy yhe expensive components and built it yourself you will have to subject your likings to what they offer. Dell will allow some customization. You selectivity and discrimination may subject you to only disapointment. While the laptops of today far exceed those of yesteryear the premium is still to be invoked on their pricing practices. The best recommendation just maybe find out what the school is offering, along with the wireless networks they support. Teh Centrino may be your best bet for battery life while a custom built desktop reigns the gaming ventures.
  4. Pop over to avs and look up gordon mcgregor. he has helped me thru several issue about the pioneer line. If that is not the right name pm me.
  5. Joe, They are not anything special. They should be avialble at Best Buys. They went nation wide last week. One side is dvd-a and the other is cd. They are thicker and looks like 2 media glued together. http://www.hometheaterspot.com/htsthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=560893&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1 http://www.hometheaterspot.com/htsthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=559654&page=2&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1 If you call tower records in Boston they will ship it to you. If you ahve a problem let em know and I will see what I can do. Scott
  6. just sold my truck to order a new NBS 4 foot interconnect. My system already sounds better
  7. opps double post. m00n put your eye balls back in
  8. Wheelman. I still need more cable this is only a half order here is my equipment line up Pioneer dvd 47ai(region free) Pioneer dvd 59ai LG LSS 3200 OTA/Direct Tv tuner Xbox HI def cable box. I had only purchased two cables today, more to come
  9. with the plasma the monster cables blow. The BC 6 ft silver reference does make a noticable difference in detail, especially in movies like monster inc and priates of the carribean. Please lets not get started over that. On my tube tvs, monsteris good enough. Having the Pioneer dvd palyers 47ai(region free) and 59ai I would like to have the BC because they do make a difference on the plasma. But for the shorter run between the player and receiver I can sacrifice. If there is any degradation using the video switching on the pioneer 49txi is is minimal. Thanks again Scott
  10. Thank you everyone, except m00n , you information was very helpful. I ended up going with element. It appears both element and signal use the same cable/wire and connectors, but element was about $25 cheaper. Thanks again Scott
  11. I think signal has my business. little more the bluejeans but I like their construction a little better. The only thing is I want custom colors For instance since the connectors are color coded if they can make 1 set of cable blue, another yellow and the other green they will deifinitley win. Blue jeans offers this but the cheap strain relief, also used by BC are a huge turn off for me. Wheel thats for the recommendation
  12. Relax m00n before one of those 3 eyes pop out. That is not what I would pay. I am talking strictly retail pricing. Plus they are silver coated OFA copper cables.
  13. Chuck, nearly all my interconnects and video cables are BC and they are very nice and the construction is outstanding. This is not to mention the people at BC are on the same level of the people at SVS and Paul and his team at hometheaterspot. I have no complaints and only praise for BC. But at the tune of $600 for what I want I am looking at some alternatives.
  14. I am in need of three 1 meter component video cables. Please no recommendations for monster cable. I can go to best buy for that. I am looking for a better product alternative to monster. thanks
  15. having had both in the HT for a short timeboth are fantastic. Both are winners. At the lower freqs the SVS was easily the winner. Both calibrated to the same level both were keepers. Now if you wanted to shake the hell out of you and others the PB2+ easily has the head room and lower freq abilities to pump out those extra dbs. With that said and if you are looking at SVS and are interested in a cylinder the new PCUltra without a doubt out performs both (at a calibrated level) hands down. The punch and lower freq performance is awesome. having had a 4db spike at 16hz, yes at 16hz the built in parametric equalizer flattened my bass curves to +/- 2db across the 16 to 100hz spectrum in my most unfriendly acoustically challenged HT. All and all there isn't a loser in the group discussed. All are great for music and HT. All have excellent to great extention, all are about the same price. If you want a recommendation on which one to buy the answer is yes. Cosmetically RSW Output PB2+ Best sound PCUltra (very subjective) best value for the $ PB2+ Size RSW
  16. Ear, Susepnsion was in order and it would have been nice to see game for game suspension without pay. Meaning every game Moore missed/misses Bertuzzi misses. The money saved by the Canucks goes to compensate Moore and the team paying him. but I still stick to my guns hockey is no more violent today that it was 20 years ago. with speed, size and strength there will come more percieved aggression. what Bertuzzi did and what mcSorely did are unjustified acts. But that doesn't make the every player a violent individual. The Brashers could easily go after the Jagr and Sakic players but they usually go after there enforcer counterparts. what bertuzzi did was disgusting. For those that welcome a player like that to the NHL "the show" well good for you. His day will come if he is allowed to play again.
  17. Todays hockey players are faster, stronger and have a hell of a lot more talent than those in the 70's 80's. Goalies are better, faster, and way more talent. If you truly think the game has gotten a lot worse, I would HIGHLY recommend watching the old games like Boston and Canadians, the flyers against anyone and anyother game. The samethings happened then as they do now. I remember watching bench clearing brawls, that has not happened in sometime. Remember when the bruins chased went into the stands in New York? Same crap happens today it is just some of us, including me, are a little more aware of it. Hockey is hockey. Now if they opened up the ice to Olympic size now we are talking a differnet game.
  18. 2002 dodge dakota club cab owe $600 then it is mine all mine
  19. I live and breath hockey. I have played many years and still today. Not at any significant level. The first problem most people have with hockey is the lack of appreciation of what it takes to play. Most of the people that I have met that say hockey this hoceky that have no freaking clue how difficult it is to stay on your skates with some goon hanging, hooking, holding. hitting, slashing you as you try to get or hold onto the puck. Hockey is an agreesive sport. IMO far less violent than football. Fighting has always been part of the game and should stay. How many time have you seen players like Madono, sakic, ST Louis, shannie drop the gloves. rarely if never. Every team needs the enforcer, still no problem with that either. In the corners, every true hockey player know that it is hell there. In front of the net, one jsut hopes the cross checking stays somewhere between the belt line and shoulders. Of course the unexpected whack from the goalie could happen at anytime. Still with all that the blatent attack by Bertuzzi was unnecessary and deserved punishment. More crap happens behind the play and so on but Bertuzzi's intention was purposeful and intentional completely out of the play at hand. For those never punched with a hockey glove, well that in itself is a whole different experience. On the other hand if one appreciates the game in all aspects, they understand the the Sakics, St Louis', fosbergs Madano's Guerins are simply amazing. There was a time and place for getting Moore and that was the first period. If this happened in the Minor leagues it would have never been publicized. It happened in the pros "the show" therefor it was covered. The possibility Bertuzzi wil not skate the next season, well it will give him time to think. If he does skate the NHL will only condone these types of actions.

I think it ought to be that if you take a cheap shot that ends another guy's career, you just ended yours as well. ---------------- I agree!!! I remember, I was cutting through center ice receiving a pass which was a little behind me, well thats about it. My team mates were up in arms, which I greatly appreciate, but when we looked at the tapes it could not have gotten any cleaner. the mere fact it happened sure there was a little I will get you next game. But in the locker room there was always a sense of agreement once it was taken care of it was done, point made don't let it happen again. And Scott keep your head up... such the case of this. first period fight, done! Regardless as the NHL tries to make inroads with primetime it is things like this that sets them back
  21. Moores hit was reviewed by the same people that reviewed Bertuzzi's mauling. Moores hit was deemed a non-offense, meaning clean. The problem the NHL is having is the premeditation of the incident. also,. also Naslund also reviewed the hit and had stated for the record it was clean. any hockey player knows Damn well crossing center ice with the eyes on the puck invites a hard noggen knocking hit. Being a boston fan I recall the same Vancouver team was screaming bloody murder a few years back with a an incident with a less severe injury. Moore has a broken neck and some think that is justified as a result of a deemed CLEAN hit. Moores open ice hit was not premeditated it was in play. Bertuzzis actions premeditated and very intentional. Scott
  22. They are both sold and the PB2Ultra has been ordered, according to Randy B post
  23. My first question is at what volume is the his audible? Quality control, uhmmm. This has been a concern for myself as more and more stuff is being assembled from afar. Perhaps you experience was the result of being built someone who should have been in school and not working in a factory.
  24. My take on this is they are not doing well financially. The presence of Klipsch in the market place is mainly in the Best Buy arena. The number of retail outlets fo the reference line is nearly non-existant. Reading around the forums I am seeing more and more often, Where dan I demo RF** speakers, Are there any on-line dealers of RF**? With enthusiasts having to ask such questions - how are non-experienced first time buyers supposed to gain exposure to the Reference line? Going after the grey market may or may not have negative affects on the Klipsch availability. One one hand this could help reestablish distribution chains and assure retailers the security to charge MSRP without the worry of being under cut. On the other hand it may backfire through smaller orders and less preceived demand. With the potential of even more difficult availabilty and less outlets Klipsch may turn to a direct market approach, such as Onix Rockets, SVS, and Hsu. What Klipsch will have to work on is transforming from the supplier to the front line direct contact with the end user. With what it looks like to be a new high end speaker line and the projected $4000 per pair perhaps a direct to the end user will yeild a price of $2000 to $2500 which would be n line with the Onix Reference line. The internet has got to be a major nightmare for companies such as Klipsch and other vendors. With the end user having far more access to pricing nation wide it is very difficult to expect MSRP on any items they carry. I use my receiver as a good example. $4100 at 2 local shops $2850 from an out of state authorized dealer $2680 from an unauthorized dealer. The price difference is astonishing. $1300 is a lot of money either way you cut it. With that $1300 I was able to purchase the RF7s on close out from Tweeter. I would like to see Klipsch compete on the customer direct arena. I feel they would do well if they can introduce a non-box speaker. The RF7s are great sounding BUT they are tall and very boxy. The other problem is US. Many of us come here and talk of other products, I am very guilty of this but have been taking my SVS talk to other forums. They have started cracking down and I for one applaud their actions. Klipsch has a goal and what that is, remains untold. But if they can clean up the distribution channels and tap into the direct market many of us will move the current speakers to the in the future second HT or dump them off to have a little towards their new line. Paying $4000 for Klipsch mains is out of my range, paying $1700 for rockets with shipping is worth a risk. Sorry for the long windedness but the only things in my HT bought at B&M were the RF7s on a closeout. All the rest bought over the internet including my RC7 and 4 RS7s, receiver, amps, plasma, cables, xbox, and dvd player. Klipsch are you listening?
