  1. Overall that a very nice system. Better than mine by all means. The only flaw I see would be the sub, but still a great looking and sounding system. Both reference and synergy sound great to me, reference certainly have an edge though. Personally, if I had your system I would stay right were I am for now (except maybe that sub), and wait for the next klipsch product line or something else that will actually be a big improvement. Still antoher possiblility would be a trade in. Today I took a little trip to Tweeter to look at some SF-1s. I was talking to the salesman and discovered that if you bring back your speakers within one year of purchase, you can upgrade to the next model up for the price difference, with no additional charges! SO if I were to buy a pair of SF-2s now, a year later I could upgrade to RF-3s for the difference($200). I don't know were you bought your speakers or how long you have had them, but its probably owrth checking into. If you could get a deal like that it would deffinatly be worth it. Otherwise I would stay where you are and just worry about that sub.
  2. Man ,thats awful, I know how annoying subwoofer humm can be, especially in movies. I'm not sure how much help this will be, but here's how I fixed my subwoofer humm problem: When I first noticed the humm (very annoying), I immediatly did most of the checks you did, My primary suspiscion was the computer, but after turning it off the humm persisted. So I gave up for a while. Then on night there was an electrical storm, so I thought it best to unplug the old computer. Later that night, wow no humm. I rejoyced. Anyway, after playing around with my computer power connection, I found it to be the grounder. Whenever I plugged the third plug (the grounder) in, the humm persisted. I understand that other devices, other than computers can do the same thing. Now I just unplug my computer when I want to listen to anything at a high volume. Not the most convenient fix, but i'm happy.
  3. Nice. Thats pretty sweet. HOw much $$$$$$$$$$$$ did you put into this little project here? Must have it coming out heh wazzuu. hehe.
  4. Beautiful. They even sent you a t-shirt. beutiful. perty.
  5. So many opinions, i have to listen to them all, I guess I'll have to suffer through listening to each and every speaker. lol. I do love macaroni and cheese though. hehe.
  6. Oops. I always thought it was prodigy, becuase your 14 and kindof smart, i guess. lol.
  7. Prodigy: Would you call the difference between the SF 1s and 2s a $70 difference? (thats about how muc more it would cost me)
  8. I'm looking for new mains for my system around $400. Both Bookshelf and Floorstanders would work fine, I'd prefer Floorstander though. My music to movie ratio it 70% music 30% movies. Its just that theres so many brands. I've looked at Klipsch SF-1, SF-2, RB-3; JBL ND310, S310, S312; Infinity IL 30; PSB Image 4T, Wharfedale diamond 8.3, used Heresys and they all look good. I have not listened to all of them, but heard and read good things about most of them. In the end I know I sould go with the ones that sound best to me, but a little help narrowing the field and maybe soem new suggestions would be much appreciated.
  9. Aww. poor skonopa. has to settle for his measly $20,000 system. Seriously though, those systems were nice. I know alot of money went into design, but damn, look at those freakin equipment racks. I know I'd be pretty happy to have any of these systems.
  10. As far as speakers, check out reference. And about plasma, I really don't think its worth that much $$$$$$$$$$$. If you want an elegant, space saving TV in you living room, yeah maybe, but not for home theater. Thing is these Plasmas go for like 12 grand, you know what kind of normal TV you could buy for that? Heck, for 12 grand you could buy a projector and screen.
  11. Thats strange, seems like it should work fine. I have a similar setup running with my pioneer reciever. You say you have the LFE channel set to full. I'm not sure about Yamahas, but on my pioneer there are three LFE sttings: off, on, and plus. When the speakers are set to large(base is sent to the speakers), and the subwoofer is on "on" there will be no LFE. It has to be set on "plus" for the LFE to work with the speakers set to large. I don't know what your problem could be. This sounds like one for the ears.
  12. WOW. Thats one good looking sub. Never heard of the company though. SOunds like one for the Ears.
  13. Man, that really sucks. I hate it when my stuff dosen't work right. Really annoying. SVS should take care fo you though. Just got the long wait for the new driver. What SVS sub do you have?
  14. Like you said, the heresys would make the best surrounds. I would recomend either sb-1, 2 or 3 ($174-$400). These would provide great surrounds for you cornwalls. Hope it works out.
  15. Thanks for the advice, don't want to blow my amp. Yeah, i kindof feel stupid now, oh well. Hey Mike Lindsey, Wou say the amp is only 2 channels of power? I was guessing about the 100w. 120 you say? cool. Mine still sounds great. Sure is heavy though. But there is no way to bridge it though is there? thanks.
  16. I'm looking for a good sub for my system. Currently, I have an old Yamaha M-4 power amp. It's 100w x 4 and sounds great. I dont think my amps bridgable, but i'd like to run all for channels into the sub. I's wondered if i could buy soem biwiring speaker cable and use it reversed (run the 2-sided end from the amp into the on-sided end on the sub). Would this work? Would it sound alright? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks.
  17. Heck, for $500 you could get a Klipsch KSW-15 online. 880 watt, 15 downfireing (nice). That would probably provide ample shake. SVS makes somes pretty nice sounding subs too though. Either will do great.
  18. Or maybe we can convince you to trade your car in for a good home system? hehe.
  19. Man, thats awful you have to part with your beloved horns. man. Lets see, I'll give you a hotdog, 3 allen-wrenches and my soul. How's that sound? hehe. But seriosly, seems like a pair of horns is worth alot more than a pair of KLF-30s. But whatever works for you.
  20. Both Velodyne and Klipsch provide tight, accturate and deep base. For your situation, I would go for the KSW-10. Mainly becuase it is matched for the quintets. By the way how do the quintets sound? I've heard good things about them but never actually listened to a pair. How do they compare to the SB-1s? I'm looking into the quintets for a budget theatre. thanks.
  21. I'm looking at a pair of KLF 10s for my system. I hear they are really good for rock, which is my favorite genre of music. I imagine dual 10s can really provide some base. I do love base. hehe. Originally I was looking at some rf-3's but at $700 (at my local Tweeter, maked down from $1200) the klf-10s look pretty atractive. Any opinions on Legend VS Reference would be much appreciated.
  22. Wow, thats really real. How did you meet Jennifer Lopez? Did you really wear that to the oscars? Must be an interesting story. I think we would all love to hear it.
  23. The obvious way to do it would be to buy an aditional amplifier. Just make suer the amplifier you buy has the same gain as your reciever. I'm sure it will sound great.
  24. Very nice. I like how you set up the CDs and rack. Beuatiful.
  25. Thats more like it. Theres kind of a big harry green ugly repulsive monster in the middle though. Yeah. This PB fellow dosn't know jack about graphics. If he is going to try to fake something, at least do a decent job.
