  1. I have not auditioned the Krell, but for the money, you can get the best HALO lineup and have money left over to take your wife on vacation. Check out the Parasound Halo line before you decide.
  2. Mike, I wish you would have posted this two weeks ago. I purchased precisely that unit and would have been glad to take it off your hands. Darn, too quick with the shopping cart.
  3. I think one will do. I was watching the Matrix last night and thought the house was under attack. I have the gain at 50% and that is plenty. Thank you anyway.
  4. WOW! I just finished calibrating my system. The SVS is absolutely awesome. Nice crisp bass, and great integration with my Belles at a 70Hz crossover point. Just for grins I turned up the gain and scared myself. The entire room shook! This is one well priced and well built piece of equipment. Thanks for the recommendation guys!
  5. My Parasound C2 comes with an OEM version of the MX 700. That is one fantastic remote. Well designed, great lighting for HT use and fully programmable. My wife loves it. One button does it all, starts the projector, the dvd, the pre/pro, amps and sets the source to DVD. Same goes when she's done. Just one button and everything turn off.
  6. Mike: If the type of shade is not an issue, I would suggest a theater black out shade. My wife got one for me, it is one of those accordian style shades. When down, the room goes totally black. Let me know if you are interested and I will look into it further. With you able to control light, you can easily use 800 or more lumens. As I said, my Z9000 is spectacular in picture quality and flexability.
  7. I have the Sharp Z9000. If you have total control of room lighting, ie. you can make it very dark, this projector is out of this world. I picked mine up slightly used from a dealer with 400 hrs. on the bulb for $3500. That was a steal. The picture, particularly HDTV is flawless. If, however, you have your theater in a room where lighting is a problem, look for a DLP projector with a high lumen rating.
  8. Thank you. I absolutely love the sound and the quality. I jumped system quality exponentially when I went from a receiver to the HALO separates.
  9. My signature lists the other speakers, Heresey's, Forte's and Chorus.
  10. BBB: You are starting to sound like my wife.... Ideally....If I could get my hands on a Belle for my center channel and a wider Stewart Firehawk...and some nice HT chairs....Oh, sorry, I digress...:-)
  11. Thanks, The C2 has an autocalibrate as well as a manual calibrate feature. I also have the AVIA DVD for calibration as well as the SPL. As soon as the sub arrives I'll give it a shot. Hopefully I will have seamless bass between the mains and the sub.
  12. I will soon be receiving an SVS 20-39 PC+ sub to add to my Heritage HT. The mains are Bells, and the others are all "large" speakers. Any recommendations on how to best calibrate the sub for my HT would be greatly appreciated.
  13. No, just one was recommended, based on the size of my room and the fact that all my HT speakers are full range. I can't wait. This should finish my HT setup. The biggest and best upgarde of course was the Parasound HALO equipment.
  14. I just ordered the SVS 20-39 PC+ to add to my Heritage system. I expect it will complement my Belles and is everything you guys rave about. Looking forward to some good, clean bass.
  15. Does anyone own or have hear the RBH signature series sub with Klipsch? I'm looking for a good sub for both HT and 2 channel listening.
  16. When I changed over to new separates, HALO, I started having a hiss that bothered me. I too had to troubleshoot the amp and pre/pro. It turns out that just connecting the tuner to the pre/pro caused the problem, even if it was not on?!! I decided to remove all sources to the pre/pro and just turn it on with the amps...hiss gone. I finally narrowed it down to the tuner. I changed the location that the tuner plugged into and the hiss went away. Apparently this was some sort of problem with the power plug recepticle in my power supply. I would be very surprised if it was a speaker issue by itself.
  17. Moon: No problem at all. Like I said, I can't swing that right now anyway. It is a sweet deal though.
  18. Moon: Well, I can certainly understand that logic. What state are you in? I would love to have another Belle for a center channel instead of my Chorus II. However, I too can't swing it right now. BTW, I have been following your thread on your HT. Before you commit on the wall fabric, please make sure you choose wisely. A bad match for your room acoustics can cause more problems than it's worth. I just finished building my acoustic absorbers and they have made a world of differance. My HT is not as custom as yours, I had to start with a room that was already there. So, I am doing things to control sound problems. My last project will be to make some bass traps to control room resonance. My HT is my refuge too. Good luck selling the Belles.
  19. Moon: Don't do it!!! I have been following many of your posts. I have a set of '88 Belles with ALK crossovers. I also am in the process of tuning my room. I just added 4 home made sound absorbers. The hi and mids are clear, precise and clean. Imaging great. Bass is tremendous. I don't have a sub either. Are you getting rid of them because you are not happy with the sound or something else.
  20. Moon: Do yourself a favor and next time you are at a good bookstore, or cruising Amazon.com, pick up a copy of "The master handbook of acoustics" by F. Alton Everest. This book should be in every audio enthusiast's library. This book will tell you more about room acoustics than you ever wanted to know. I just finished building 6 acoustic absorber panels for my HT. The panels will be used to control unwanted frequency problems. I have yet to build panels or tubes to control low frequencies, but it is planned. Looking at your idea of panels, you will be set up to "tune" your room at a later date by adding high density fiberglass to your panels in selected areas. Good luck with your project.
  21. Last night I read your comments on this remix, so I had to run out to get it and see how it sounded on my new system. WOW! This SACD is phenomenal. You guys that have a sub must really get some low frequencies on many of the cuts. My Belles put out a lot of bass, but only to about 50hz.
  22. I am currently using Belles for fronts with Chrous II for the center. Although I'm not noticing any timbre matching problems, it would be nice to add a more properly matched speaker to the center. I just updated my entire system to the Parasound Halo gear and the sound is just incredible.
  23. Brent: You talked me into the HALO after I looked at Parasound with you. Thank you! I will put the C2 through it's paces as soon as I can. I will say that the HALO amps and the Belles sound out of this world. Thanks again for all your help.
  24. kev313, I considered the Rotel line, but went with HALO after getting Brent's assistance. I had no way of doing a side by side comparison. I don't know of any dealers that have Rotel hooked up to Klipsch Belles and nobody will loan the stuff for a few days. Totally understandable. I ran searches in the various AV forums and some reviews moved me more to the Parasound line.
