  1. SE-1 Signature Single-ended Triode Power Amplifier The Audio Electronic Supply model SE-1 triode single-ended amplifier was first designed in December 1993. The SE-1 was released to the marketplace in early 1994 and in short order became one of the most sought after single-ended amplifiers in the audiophile community. The popularity of the SE-1 has spread throughout the entire world. In fact, the SE-1 is inspiring audio club user groups and modification tweak books. The SE-1 is satisfying music lovers' desire for an emotional music encounter on a daily basis. With a number of years of experience and thousands of satisfied customers, Audio Electronic Supply is now producing an upscale version of the famous SE-1. The new model is referred to as the SE-1 Signature. The Signature version has the following unique features: 6SN7 gain stage 6SN7 driver mu-follower tubes Direct coupling of input 6SN7 tube to the mu-follower driver circuit Oil filled coupling caps Copper output speaker posts Soft shoe larger isolation feet The SE-1 Signature is extremely dynamic, has tight bass, and offers all the midrange sweetness of the standard SE-1. 2. Thank you (if that was aimed at me).
  3. My wife and I in front of our house...
  4. Wow!!! I had no idea my post would spark such heated debate...
  5. I have assembled what I believe to be a pretty awesome sounding 2-channel and 5.1 channel sound system. I use HDCD, DVD-A, SACD and standard CD players as my sources with SS amplification. For fun I was thinking of buying a Turntable and a Tube amp and preamp (possibly Antique Sound Labs SET). How different would my 2-channel listening experience be on my cornwalls with Tubes and Phono vs CD and SS?
  6. Today I picked up a sony SACD 555-ES and connected it. I had to unplug my DVD-Audio connections to use the 6 channel input. My Yamaha only has 1 6-channel input. I picked up several SACDs today and there do not seem to be discrete audio channels. The rear surrounds just seem to be replicating the reverberation. I thought SACD would have one instrument playing out of one speaker, another instrument out of another speaker, vocals out of another speaker, etc. Did I mess up the connections or am I missing something?

  8. I was able to buy a Mitsubishi HD VCR on an open box blow-out for $600 at Tweeter (less than 1/2 price from list of $1,500) The configuration and set-up of the VCR has been tough. My Cox HD Box does not have firewire out, only Component Video. The HD-VHS only has firewire input for HD recording. My HDTV has firewire out from the built in decoder. Therefore, I can only record HD broadcasts from the over the air stations decoded by my internal HD receiver (with firewire out to the VCR). I am currently looking for a way to go from component video output from the COX box to the firewire input of the VCR. ***Does anyone know of a special cable that will do this (or an intemediary devise that accepts component video input and turns it into firewire output for HD signals)?***

  10. They charge an additional $7/month for the box. They offer HBO, Showtime, ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS. I am in San Diego.
  11. Cox Cable finally made available HDTV broadcasts. They came and installed it today. They showed Harry Potter in HDTV on HBO...awesome! The picture is like nothing else. It blows away DVD (by far in my opinion). If I could only figure out how to record HDTV from the cable box now on my HD-VCR...
  12. Today I picked up a Mitsubishi HS-HD2000U HD-VHS VCR. It can record in 1080i from High Definition content. 1080i HD signals blow away progressive scan DVDs. Now I can record and playback High Definition content. It took me over 3 hours to figure out how to work the thing. Does anyone else have this or another HD VCR? My wife and I wathced Everyone Loves Raymond in HD tonight...it makes digital cable look like garbage!
  13. My wife and I wathced Jurassic Park III last night...wow! There was some serious house shaking BASS in that movie. Also, some terrific visuals. Cool movie...
  14. I have a Yamaha and it might work the same. I plug into the 5.1 channel input on my reciever (out from my DVD player). This uses a separate output for each channel out the back of the DVD player. Then, I select the '6 channel mode' on my receiver. Don't know if that helps...
  15. All you need to use the progressive scan DVD player is component video input on your TV (Along with component video cables). I bought component video monster cables. Also, use the 5.1 channel output from the DVD player to take full advantage DVD-Audio. You will also need to use the optical output on the DVD player for proper Digital sound decoding from your receiver. I have a panasonic progressive scan DVD player (with DVD audio also) and it works great.
  16. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1396229512 I saw on an earlier post someone claiming he had a pair of these. The picture looked very fake though. Has anyone ever 'auditioned' a pair of these? How do they compare with Cornerhorns?

  19. I just bought a bunch on DVD-Audio disks yesterday. Eric Clapton Reptile sounds incredible! Does anyone know if it makes any difference if I use the 6 channel output vs the 2 channel from the back of my DVD player. I believe my receiver will do the sound processing anyway. So, what reason would there be to use the 6 channel out? Rob
  20. We just got our painting for the blank spot on the wall above the tv. It was done by an artist in Vancouver, Ian McLeod. Check out the picture attached.
  21. Jim, That did not make sense. Could you please give me a more detailed explanation. If you have any pictures, that would be terrific too...thanks! Rob
  22. Is there a cable that has already been set-up to do what I am thinking about (or do I need to make my own)?
  23. No Klipsch...but pretty cool anyway. Alot of homemade stuff. http://www.hometheatertalk.com/Reviews/My_System/my_system.html
