  1. I guess Scotch is popular in college........ all of my friends are just getting Scotch in school(great for party I guess? [] ). Like Jackson said Shiraz does not serve in cold. Just let the Shiraz to warm up to 65ish before it serves. I only tried it once and did not have thick taste bud to enjoy it(for red I can stick with most light onces but not thick one like cabernet sauvignon). Thanks for the info about the RF83s, I will definitely go to take a look there(but not the first, shop around for better price first [] ). I thought about the handling problem too...... 100lbs each and there's 2...... my car is no pick up truck but a tiny Civic. [+o(]
  2. If you can find a way to keep applying the stuff you learned in college it would be fun too, otherwise it's just pain in the neck to keep memorizing everything. You just need the digital connection for the DTS/Dolby digital output for DVD video. You will need the analog connection if you play DVD-A or SACD on the player. Keep using digital signal unless you have a crappy preamp or decent DVD player with a decent DAC in it(do A/B comparison if they are close).
  3. Congrats on your new RF83s and 21st birthday! [co] Forget about the beer and go straight to the wine(I kept walking into liquor shop as I just hit 21 several months ago) [6] You knew the salesmen there or you don't know them and they give you a deal for 1600? I'm gonna pass by there next week or so to hunt for the RF7s or RF83s around NYC..... see if I can get a good deal around. []
  4. Very nice! It looks better with the big TVs which shown on the picture. I wish I have such a dealer around who can give me similar price in NY area []
  5. I've the RB5II and the RF3II(which is the floorstander of RB3II, and same size of horn/driver with RB35). The RB5II are better than the RF3II, and definitely noticable(I can hear the difference even playing mp3 source). Much better high in terms of projecting voices. Mid range is a little bit more detail(a little, not as much as on high). Can't compare the low as floorstander and bookshelves. Hope this helps
  6. It's true that electron could only flow one way. My guess is that you have different polarity connection on one speaker with the other? If it's the case, the phase cancellation would make a difference by then. Everything follow the same signal direction(color of interconnect) will no longer out of phase of each other and cancel the sonic output and you will really have better sound quality after correcting phases. Or it could be due to the connecting surface which was explained above. Interconnect loose overtime and decrease the contacting surfance area or scrap off the oxide while you unplug/plug it in again Just my 2cents and wild guess []
  7. After another set of purchases over time I got a bunch of gears that I thought I was gonna use the left over for secondary stereo. I guess I don't have the chance for it as the mariage's coming up next year. By that time I'll be just finished the college! Yet it's going to happen and I need the money [:S]. Hope someone on the forum will take care this baby http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homesubw&1147049478
  8. Like those said above there's no comparison in terms of company background As Klipsch possessing BASH amp that would good you better amp compare to an unknown one(I've checked the Japan Denon website that they didn't say anything about the amp part besides the power rating). I have a RW-10 for more than a year and a half and still loved it(although I'm selling it now as I have a bigger one [] ). Yet, I wonder how much is Klipsch RW-10 selling in Japan?(Number in yen is fine)
  9. Hi guys! How does everyone doing? Been out for a while for schools and life....... then everything's new here! All the 5 6 8 series from references!(I still have no idea how they line up compare to the older models yet) [*-)] I feel itchy from upgrade bugs again [+o(]
  10. Thanks alot.... I'll try to call the parts dept first.... let's see what they can do
  11. It looks like RB-35 or RB-5.......... And that is not the cherry! That's the light cherry......... (because I have cherry RB-5 ) If it's RB5 then 4800rmb is fine............. if it's rb35 then it's little too much I could read partially of what was talking about lol
  12. Hi guys...... I just recieved RF-3II that bought from others(so it's second hand). However one of the tweeter was broken . Is there any way that I can unwind the tweeter by self and send to Klipsch to repair or just simply purchase another tweeter and install by myself? It is too huge that I don't wanna ship the whole thing. PS. the screws on speaker is different..... it's like a star sign... is there any driver for that? Thanks in advance
  13. Happy birthday moon BBB: You are the one in the middle?

These are just plugs, for Christ's sake. The fact that your music sounds nice has the least to do with those plugs. There are only two types of plugs: really crappy ones, and all the rest that do the job as expected. Obviously these banana plugs fall in the second category, but dont think that if you get these plugs instead of the ones you have currently you will hear something that was hidden or lost before. There are far too many weaker links in the chain than plugs. All a plug needs to do is to ensure a tight contact with the binding post. Period. Ok, you might get some gold plated ones for better look and arguably for better conductivity. But thats it. The kind of plugs I would stay away from are the ones you can see on many of the Monster cables (screw on design). ---------------- They do nothing more than easy to move around for me. I keep moving my speakers/switching them once a month or so, barewire will kick my butt off. As the binding posts is in the back, who cares how they look? . Plug does have it's advantage for being neat and flexibility, but not quality.

On your RX-V3000 set the center to large and see if you can get any bass out of your KLF-30 center speaker. I'm confused as usual. Carpenter? I would say that I'm more like a cabinet maker. There is a big differance in the techniques used to build something between a carpenter and cabinet maker. If you want to insult a cabinet maker, call him or her a carpender. I of cource did not take it as an insult for many reasons. I also don't post the stuff that I do for praise or to show off my work. The work that I do for myself stinks. It's done fast and easy, because I can live with flaws. It's the work that I do for other people that looks good. You can't charge someone for your work if it isn't 100%. I show my stuff here more to give others ideas and open up their minds. There is more then one way to skin a cat. I hate it when I hear someone say that I can't do that. Bull! You may not be able to do it the exact way, but you can come up with another way to accomplish the same thing. I also show what I'm doing or changing to receive feedback and opinions from others. The feedback (good or bad) helps me form new ideas. I wouln't be doing what I do, if I didn't have all of you to learn from. The Klipschorn can be to many higher levels and uses, lets see how long this one keeps me satisfied. ---------------- I didn't get into that deep for woodworking specialist...... you can have the greatest title on the list as you are(you name it I'll call you that way ). Seriously it's really nice work, not to mention the speakers building mixing inside..... I couldn't even make a board with straight edges and right angles when I was in high school Anyway really great work
  17. ---------------- On 4/4/2004 12:50:24 PM Joe Shmoe wrote: The ad says that when using smaller gage wire to fold it? Is that ok to do? I am looking at getting some new bananas but I am using Audiquest wire which isn't 12 gage. ---------------- It just double the wire size as you use smaller cable like 18guage. I tried it with 16guage which works fine as well. But 14 or larger is better for locking the cable easier
  18. ---------------- On 4/4/2004 12:02:39 PM lancestorm wrote: Question on this guy. How do you connect the wire to these types of banana plugs? I have a few rat shack ones where you put the wire through the hole then clamp the screw down into it... ---------------- The plugs uses the screws to lock the cables into it. Really neat that you can't see or pull the cable out(I tried to pull the cable instead of the plug..... really tight).

Unplug em or something everyday. ---------------- It'd be more funny that he has 50shipping address Anyway good things to hear you get a job in BB, many discount . Get yourself a set of Ultra 5.1, that's the price that shows everywhere(that means you got no where cheaper than having discount) You definitely have to show them the Bose in order to show the greatness of Klipsch
  20. You know what??? Once I saw the picture.... my mouth turned into "O" and stared for 3minutes When will you get every of us a masterpiece like this? Btw are you a carpenter or? I wish I have such skills
  21. Did you enable DTS/DD on coaxial output as you switch the cables? Many DVD players have to turn on their signal on digital in order to make them work.
  22. Grats on your speakers As the RC7 I've seen other ways work better(but how come they don't have delicated center speaker stands for such a long time......you can't place below the projector screen with nothing) I place my RC3II a little lower than my ear(1feet) and I felt it's lack of something when I get too close to them(I sit in front of the table). As I move back it sounds better. I guess you have to pace the center up with the ears. Some folks place them on TVs or use TV ceiling stands... They posted the pics earlier..... I couldn't find the ceiling one, but here's 2 for placing top of TVs http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/files/Full-1.jpg http://gallery.avsforum.com/data/506/50506Front_closer_.JPG
  23. You got an email Like you pop up at this time.....really killing me
  24. Try the LCDtest http://www.ekimsw.com/lcdtest/ It shows the several basic colors that you can see do they have dead pixels or not(or some white pixels) in showing different colors
  25. Try the cheater plug for the sub(3legs to 2legs.... the ground loop cut off in the plug into the socket). If it doesn't work..... try the surge protector with filter functions. It happens in many houses and these methods seem to be the easiest to solve the problem(It works in both places I live in several outlet).
