I've 50miles at least and all the way back to Manhatten........(that means 4hours train for a round trip )
  2. IF that will be true...... email will be abondoned and they will invent another format for replacing the email...... some programs like AIM will be increasing incredible number of users I wonder how can that be if I own my personal SMTP server(my friend does )
  3. I'm not familiar with HSU subs........... but SVS 20-39 PCi, SVS PB1ISD, RW-12 or RSW-10 would be great choices you don't have the huge room to think about getting bigger sized sub but the money would be limitation. Those 4 lie on the range that you are looking for btw I'd like to hear some comparison about RW12 and RSW10
  4. Bring your sub to bedroom or give it to friends if u don't wanna sell it. Comparing it with PB2+ and KSW 15..... well no comparison and PB2+ doesn't need the help for KSW15
  5. Lol.......... depends on how much you love the bass volume would be. Some like earthshaking even listening to music or watching dramas, some don't. Some just want to have certain bass to match the rest of the system. It is all depend your preferences .

Could someone expand on that for me? I find both of mine compliment each other. ---------------- Sometimes they wil have destructive interference if they produce the same frequency(which is known as cancelling the bass). However it barely occurs snice the wavelength is huge for these low frequnecies. But it still could be happened(well different things plus different environment make huge variety ) If you feel you have no bass in your listening spot, try to turn it to 180 phase and try it again(don't turn both to 180 or it'll just the same thing as both 0) Replying to the original......... perhaps just pick some sub like RW 10 or 12 or some SVS subs. People keep saying that KSW 12 isn't good enough at all.....
  7. Instead of drilling holes......... I'd like to use some clips to route them. You can route them to upper ceiling as they pass some doors or corner so they can't be seen easily. Just put some paint on the cable if u wish.

And i don't mind the size of the sub ---------------- SVS does have box sub. PB1ISD is the one as I mentioned . Don't worry about it doesn't power up your room, I've asked for bigger room and the SVS tech told me that it is more than enough, people can't turn the volume up in PB2ISD. Altho it's like the lowest end model in their box sub..... the baby is still 79pounds wait it is heavier than 10years old boy

Let me make somethings clear, I have a single suite dormroom about 12x14. So no blowing amps by roommate nor try to steal them cause there to heavy. with the ultra and sws i could shake the foundation already, even though it is solid brick. I just want those low 20 hertz where the promedia ultras can never reach. And with those speakers I's never let anyone near them. ---------------- Perhaps you should go ahead for some SVS PCi 20-39 or 16-46 or PB1ISD. That's all you need for going down to 20Hz

Its funny how some crappy new rock band can come to my school and sell $20 tickets, then a Jazz player can come and they are giving away tickets :-( Sad... but, I will have to go check out more life performances especially since I get to go to many free ones since I am still in school. I know its not the same but, I go to Rock concerts every summer, have to catch the Allman Brothers at least twice a year :-) But, based on what everyone said I am sticking to what I have at least for another year :-) Thanks everyone maybe time for a new compuer hehe, and thanks for not laughing at my poor DVD player :-) ---------------- I thought you were 20s/30s and working Definitely get some concerts ticket by the meantime...... I wish I could watch some @ broadway in the incoming spring break...... *staring at endless assignments.... sign Well you have better dvd players that I do.............. what do I have??? A $30 Pioneer dvdrom
  11. I've never tried RB3s but I own RB-5II and RC-3II. The RB-5IIs are better pieces...... I can hear from most of the source even mp3s. I'd like to go two pairs of RB-5 and a center to stick with 5.1 for a while...... Then get another pair of RB-5II may be for making the home to be identical 6.1 speaker system? That'd be nice setup than trying to match up any speakers(since ref 5 doesn't have the center and rear speakers). By then get the better sub to give some reinforcement for the low?
  12. Some prefer the large bulk cable in ultralinkcables.com that Griff carries here. Some prefer homedepot's 12guage cables. Some go for the partexpress.com Soundking 12guage cables. They are all great choices......... well I didn't try the cables That Griff carries...... I'd try it someday as I finished my soundking cables . They are all around $30 for 100feet, homedepot's one is little cheaper as I could remember(but I heard of they need to be tin well or oxidize quite fast, not certain about this).

  14. Just do the machine code copy(10010100001 and so on). Many programs support that. This way it'll be a little slower than the normal way of burning, but it is absolutely identical

I was going to buy one but got a really good deal on mine. Next step to sell mine and buy and svs if their that good. I would recomend buying another sub would probally be your best bet for movies no doubt. Having two will fill it in better. If you have the room. A tuffy between seperate amp or another sub. Hmmmmmmmmm if you watch more movies go for the sub. Just my opinion and if you got the space. What about an 18 inch sub like and earthquake? ---------------- He just got his RSW-15 few days ago I'd say......... go for some videos like DVD player or even projectors? I'm always wondering what if I'm using RF-35/5/7s and I'm still having small monitor/TV that's smaller than the speakers. . IMO I don't like CRT/Plasma...... they get you tired within a movie length
  16. RF-7s are not one step upgrade...... they may cost you rest of the system for that ......... well give you most improvement tho. Or you can think of upgrading the sub, KSW just don't pace up with Ref 3 speakers, get something like RSW-12/ SVS PB-2 etc(well you can always step higher if your room is big enough). Hunting with a bunch of money is always fun better than you know what to upgrade but you got no buck for it

The front copper passive will get kicked in, ruined, and the front grill will be toast. What corner will you posibly have to set it up properly anyhow? If not you.. your room mate his friends will test it, blow it out, and ruin it. Beer..Yep I can just see it spilled all over it frying the amp and ruining it all poured down the backside. 2.) The Sub, even at low volumes, will add soo much to your HT experience your gonna rattle the dorm floor(s) above and below you. It is not neccessary. Even a PM 2.1 computer system will ROCK almost all dorm rooms to a very "exceptable" volume, trust me. IMO, get the best Pro media set up, and save your $$ till after college. Then you can enjoy it in a bigger room and be somewhat protected. Nothing like a new really cool stereo in yoru first "apartment or house" after school. After all, thats why you got the degree in the first place... so you can afford new gear!! I am sorry to sound negative, but a RSW or a SVS has no place in a dorm room. Even if you have the money it is not practical. ---------------- I second that........ the dorm can't fit the HT is the reason why I didn't move in...... wait I've the RB-5 not RF-7 yet . Ok even there's a space for placing them, I don't think there's enough breathing space and some space for listening them(I'm talking about the RF-7 RSW15 combo in dorm, not yet for 7.1). You need at least 6-10" away from wall/corner for RSW15 and plus it's 20" size, everyone's gonna kick the sub or hurt the RF-7s as they get into your room(everyone loves to lean on the speakers. I don't see why but it happens. We now know that humans are invertibates and constantly need to lean on something ) For the second point, even people live in basement the bass will just transferred to 30ft+ surround your house(regardless the wall, bass just shakes the wall), I tried to ask someone to turn down volume in basement when I was in my friend's dorm @ 2nd floor

I'm impressed so far with the quality of the klipsch ultra pm sats, however I'm well aware that there are tones of better things out there. My question is this, are the reference line of bookshelves klipsch offers any good compared to similarly priced stuff or are there better deals to be had. I'm looking to get the most bang for my buck, not too worried about bass since I'll probably get a sub down the road. I'm refering from say the RB-15 to the RB-25s thats probably the most I'd be able to spend. I looked for some reviews on google and came up with nothing. If anyone has these and could share their thoughts I would appreciate. thanks BTW. I plan to initially listen to mostly music (all genres from classical to rock to jazz etc...)and eventually get the rest of the speakers for a 5.1 setup for movies. ---------------- I don't have any Ref 15/25 series component in my system but I've RC-3 or RB-5. They made me never go back to any satallite speakers. I believe the ref 15/25 will give you the same idea . If you start with no sub at first, pick RF-15 instead of RB-15 that will give u better bass in the meantime?
  24. I'd like to own some heritage if I can afford them and my room is big enough to fit them into the corners . They looked bad? I definitely like those looks more than satallite/bookshelf speakers. Regardless the sound quality I just like their look more than synergy/ref series . It's just the personal taste question, some people like cube speakers or paper speakers(they are thin like the papers, regardless they sound like papers), some like large bulky and fuse them into a part of furniture. It's similar to some folks who like SVS's cylinder's sub and some others like the box sub. Yea I feel I'm so old and my hair's turning white before I get to 20......
  25. You got $1500 and all the way to RSW-15???
