  2. I am not quite sure how I missed this topic! In any event, yes it looks like round 3! If the real Carson Palmer shows up it could be difficult game, the shoot out and performance that he gave Payton Manning and Indy for was something I have never seen. As we all know, the Steelers do not play well in shoot outs. I did not get a chance to see last weeks game against Detroit, but from the highlights and what I've heard, our defense did not look on par. If it wasn't for (I cannot believe I am saying this) our Special Teams, we would have lost the game. If the Steelers Defense can get to Carson (and they will), we will be able to contian him and C.Johnson. The past two games against Cincy, this year, the Steelers only had 2 sacks total, 1 a game. Porter and Foote are due for big games! Bengals first appearance in the Playoffs in 15 years, Steelers have been there 10 times since. The last time Cincy was in the playoffs, Boomer Esiason was your quarterback! The Steelers could possibly be the best 11-5 team to be in the playoffs ever, not to mention that Cincy has home field first round and are STILL 3 point DOGS!! To all Cincy fans, ride the wagon and enjoy it while you can, as it won't last long!
  3. Hi Craig, A KV-3 will be the closest match for a center channel to his KG4's unless he wanted to go with another KG4 as a center (best match). As for rear surrounds, any of the KG series will work. I went with the KG 1.2's. Both sets can be found on eBay for a reasonable price. If he doesn't want to go the eBay route, I am not sure what would be a good fit to match up with his KG4's as mains, someone I am sure could chime in here.
  4. Chris...welcome to the forum. I opted for the KV3 with my set up, reason being, I didn't have the space for another KG4. Ideally that is the best center channel. I read in other threads that the KV2 was good but the KV3 was much better, and that the KV4 wasn't very impressive. That said, I went for the KV3's....
  5. Years ago I asked the same question. DougDrake replied the same answer then, a KV3 center channel. That and a set of the 1.2 did me well....

Silent Hill, That is one thing that you can always rely on, your hearing ability. I have found that no matter who you ask or talk to, the deciding factor is what "sounds" good to you as everyone has different hearing capabilities. A dear friend of mine has a polk system, and he loves it. It sounds good, but overall I am not impressed. My father has NHT's w/ HSU and I long to have a system like his, it blows mine out of the water. Being 15, you off to a great start in the HT arena. I am sure you made the right decision...enjoy!

Not quite sure what the general opinion is on HSU subs, but I have been very impressed with them. IMO, I would consider either an HSU or an SVS based on what I have heard, and from a price standpoint.
  8. Wish I would have known this before, ahhhh...we learn from our mistakes....
  9. Great question, I too have thought about upgrading my KG/KV line as well. I love the sound, but not sure if I am "missing out" on anything better. Biggest fear here is the unknown. What if I don't like the sound of the newer speakers....
  10. Got it.... Needed a new DVI Card. The one I purchased from Asus for an Asus Motherboard was not compatable with the Asus P4R800-V Deluxe model that I had...go figure! I ended up going with with the Radeon 9500 instead of the Asus DVI card and the 9100 onboard and it works great! Just thought I would post as a resolution for future references.... JAG
  11. Alright guys, Sorry to post this here, as I know that it is really a PC general question, but I am in need of some assistance. I put together my HTPC on Friday and when I connect it to the Sony GWII I get a horrible picture. I have done this before with the 9500 and had little to no issues, but never with the 9100. I have set the powerstrip settings to what they should be, which adjusted the screen size, but did nothing for the picture. Here's the link I posted on avsforum, take a look and let me know what my next steps should be... Click Me Please help...funds are running low, and women is getting mad... TIA, JAG
  12. hummmmm..... I have the Samsung DVD-HD931 and am looking to upgrade to the 941 as soon as it comes out. The picture quality is awesome, I am very impressed with the unit overall. Only downfall are the "black levels" which have said to be fixed with the 941 that is due out next month. Not sure if it is multi-region, but I will have to check tonight and find out. The 941 was on preorder from Amazon for $254 shipped and if is comparable to the 931 it is worth every penny!
  13. From my experience... I have the Sony GWII XBR 50" and I think the picture is awesome. However from what I have read the Sony GWIII 50" has the same picture quality as the GWII 50" it is just not an XBR, yet posses the same traits. The XBR as we know was introduced in the 60" version for the GWIII's, the difference between the GWII and the GWIII XBR's, that I do not know. I do know this... After my father saw my GWII, a few weeks ago he went out and bought the GWIII 50", and I think the picture is better than my GWII. We all love to brag about our toys, but this is the honest truth. Now, its time to out do good "ole" dad...the games we play for bragging rights can get expensive! ! ! ! All in all, go with the 50" GWIII. You will not be dissapointed and if you watch when BB has there 10% off coupons, you can get the GWIII on sale and use the 10% coupon only on Saturday.
  14. http://www.hometheatermag.com/rearprojectiontvs/166/ Picky: I was dissapointed in the loss Calgary took, but they made a good run. I still think The wings and the Leafs are better than any stinkin' Bolts. 1-0 Detriot, lets see what they can do tonight.
  15. People here still do not believe me, they insist that it is "Wega", and are making me really mad. I need concrete documentation, looks like the afternoon will be spent on the Sony website. Picky - Good luck with your Pistons!
  16. How is the Sony Wega Pronounced. I have always spelled it "Wega" or "VVega" and pronounced it "Vega". Also what is the origin of this word? But more importantly how is it spelled and how is it pronounced. Thanks!
  17. Final question, then I am done. We are having a professional discussion here at work and I need some input. Is it spelled Sony "WEGA" or Sony "VEGA"?? Is it Pronounced "WEGA" or "VEGA". I always thought it was spelled "Wega" pronounced "Vega". How did this name come about? Thanks!
  18. How does the picture display through the XBOX? Can you see the difference between that and the Radeon, if so is it very noticable? I could go that route until the DVD-HD941 comes out in Aug. For $250 the picture quality is totally worth it, IMHO. I would love to do an HTPC but $1500 is breaking the bank a little right now. But I agree the Radeon 9800 is the way to go. A friend of mine purchased the Denon for something like $2000, the picture through his HTPC (Radeon and scaling) is much, much better. What to do, what to do...
  19. Paco, What kind of DVD Player are you running? That picture looks beautiful! I have the 50" GWII and am running a Samsung DVD-HD931 which I will probably sell to get the DVD-HD941. I like the DVI...a lot and the scaling capabilities are great, but are there other options for me? BTW great set up, and you did it right!
  20. I agree with Picky, if the cost from a non-autorized dealer is a great price that in the event that something goes wrong you need to determine what your total loss is. If you are willing to take that as a loss to save a good bot of money than yes. If you are not willing to take that loss than by from an autorized dealer. My father and I have purchased a lot of equipment from Sound City, and (knock on wood) have never ever had any issues with anything from them. Also if you call the actually store (not internet) they usually will give you a much better deal. Just something to think about.
  21. Jabez, I couldn't agree with you more, this team has more talent than any Leafs team that I have ever seen. Even more than the Leafs team in 2001-2002 season. The addition of Nolan, Newey, Leetch, Eddie and Francis is huge. Sundin, Roberts, McCabe, Almo, and even Domi and Tucker...all of these players are potential, if not Hall of Famers. They key is who is healthy in the playoffs... It killed us in 2002 when we lost to Carolina and to a lesser degree it affected us this year as well. As of now, I am rooting for the Sharks and our former boy Vinnie Damphouse and focusing my attention to golf. Although the Leafs did lose, I still smile when I see that hit Tucker gave Kapenen in overtime. Can you say "Airborn"... In mourning.... JAG
  22. Well my Leafs are out... They had plenty of opportunities that they couldn't capitalize on in the first period and in overtime. Great shot from Roenick to win the game. I will say that Sammy Kapenen got his bell rung and I was surprised that a penalty wasn't called...would have slowed the game down a little and could have been the difference in the outcome of the game. Man was that a hit, if you missed it...trust me it will be on ESPN. Then again it we could have, should have and would have all night long but it didn't happen. Pickey, I know how you feel...this sucks. Looks like we will have to try and get pased 38 seasons next year. As for now, time to hit the courses look for that first 80 of the season and enjoy the summer. In mourning.... JAG
  23. What happened to CuJo's pads? Must have been a picture from his minor leauge days.....
