  1. Yep! Sounds lousy but I still have it in the HT. The kids don't seem to mind it and I almost never use it. You couldn't have said it better. My KSW-12 works, I can hear deep booming sounds but its distorted not clear good base
  2. Thanks for the responses, how about a RW-12d? Minor, Big or Huge upgrade over my KSW-12?
  3. Hello All I would like to upgrade my sub I have read many posts that have been devoted to timbre matching speakers. Do subwoofers need to be matched? or could I get any brand/model? Suggestions? I see in another post a recommendation of a $2,000 sub, I would like to spend less. Thank you
  4. I have the 5800's and love them. The tweeter is directional and can be pointed any direction to better place the sound.
  5. I am looking to purchase a component style power conditioner / surge protector. what do you use?
  6. I have a RF-3II system and "had" RS-3II's for my surround (in my old house) and did not care for them. In my new house I finished off my basement and put in-ceiling Klipsch CDT 5800-C-II for my rears. They match great and sound amazing. Best of all they don't take up any space being in my ceiling. They are a little expensive though. If you have the opportunity compare the RS-3II's to the bookshelf version RB-3II
  7. I am currently researching the BEST way to add video/music to my TV. I heard that AppleTV does not broad cast HD in full screen??? Is this accurate?
  8. I do not have plans to visit Mad-Town. I dominated state street last month. The "war department" won't let me go again until next year. Sneak up to Lambeau for a game. I'm only 10 minutes away
  9. I am located in Suamico, Wisconsin. I used the stands to support my RS-3II's, 12lbs. a piece. Even on carpet there was no fear of tipping, very solid. The color variation is only in the photo, they are identical. If someone came to my front door I would let the pair go for $150. They are in great condition and cost double to make. If I had to travel, a different price would have to be worked out. Don't know how I would ship. Thoughts?
  10. For Sale, 2 Custom Made Oak Surround Speaker Stands. Don't drill any holes or for the difficult rear speaker placement.... they put your speaker right at listening level. chad_vh@yahoo.com Wisconsin
  11. I just received a response from Klipsch Tech support, they say the RC-62 II or the RC-64 II will match my system fine....thoughts?
  12. Yes Sir, finally found an old favorite on Blu-Ray! http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=dazed+and+confused+blu+ray&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=0KL2UjcisX2hrM&tbnid=ittgsXPchN4caM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.play.com%2FDVD%2FBlu-ray%2F4-%2F19476140%2FDazed-And-Confused%2FProduct.html&ei=NH-IUdbXGofK9gS88IG4DA&bvm=bv.45960087,d.dmQ&psig=AFQjCNFzdKjIyXQRMYjRSWGdxgp57IqYQg&ust=1367986329953848'>
  13. 90 Hz, what are your thoughts? Thank you
  14. Great thinking on the triangle doorstops. What are your thoughts on running two center channels? Don't know how I would pull it off
  15. My center channel is sitting on top of a Bello glass shelf and not inside a cabinet. It is roughly 8 feet away. But it is not tilted up. What do you/others use to lift the front up slightly? I did an Auddesy set up from my Marantz and I even jacked up the db's of the center. My rears sound great, RF3's sound good, Center sounds a little on the "small" side. If I switched a RC5-II it wouldn't be timbre matched? How about the newer series center's? Thank you
  16. Please view my system in profile. I am currently running the RC3-II for my center and wish to upgrade to something that sounds a little bigger/fuller. I want your suggestion to match my other speakers perfectly and would like a model currently in production (I like buying new). Thank you
  17. Okay, now we are talking..... I love peanuts and Pabst but if we are mentioning sauce then I have to list my favorite
  18. I am a simple man with a simple system, however, I am always curious what I am missing.... My disc player is listed below, a Sony Blu-Ray. I know the sky is the limit when purchasing. If I blew some coin on a $1,000 universal disc/blu-ray player would I notice/hear a difference. How? What Brand? Would I notice/hear a difference on a $500 model? What Brand do you recommend? Thank you
  19. All of my cables have been purchased from monoprice, HDMI and speaker wire. I think they sound great for a fraction of the cost of others
  20. Y'all have given me a wealth of much appreciated knowledge about my system through the years. now about the extras....... Like most I have a system dedicated mostly to movie watching and nothing goes better with movie watching than SNACKS! popcorn is okay, but I am looking for your favorites. Please provide your favorite movie snack and a link where I can purchase it. I love cheese and spice. My favorite is listed below.... http://www.amazon.com/***-Kickin-Jalapeno-Cheddar-Peanuts/dp/B000G6XFKK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1365311962&sr=8-4&keywords=jalapeno+peanuts
  21. Just purchased a new TV and need some connection help. I will be using an HDMI cable to hook up a Blu-ray and another HDMI to hook up my Dish. I want to listen to my TV audio out of my speakers. In the past I've just used Red/White cable in the TV's Left and Right Audio Out. On this TV set I noticed I have a Digital Audio Out (Optical) slot. If I use this connection point instead of the Red/White in the Audio Right/Left will my audio from my Blu-Ray also go through this? Am I correct in thinking HDMI is a better connection and wouldn't want my Blu-Ray audio coming through an Optical cord? Thank you in advance
  22. 60" and 42" Samsung Plasmas. Love them both. There is no no doubt in my mind that I could purchase a television that has a better picture then my Samsung Plasmas. However, there is also no doubt in my mind that I would have to pay substantially more to get this "better picture". 60" Samsung plasma (model # in profile) with no bells and whistles, just a great picture at a great price!

    Marantz

Thank you for your response and suggestion. However, I would like to buy new. Anyone know of a reputable place, site, store where they have good prices on a Marantz SR5007?

    Marantz

Just like most, I am in the market. Asked a guy from Crutchfield and he recommended a Marantz SR5007. I would like Klipsch forum opinions before I buy. Thank you
  25. Okay hopefully the catchy title to this post got your attention to a serious matter at hand..... I am hanging a flat screen on the wall and will have components on a stand below. It is all new construction so I don't necessarily need "easy mount" brackets (can use a box nailed to a stud). what type of media wall plate do you use? I gather I would need one that has a power, HDMI and some sort of audio connection (for TV sound during cable watching) mounted behind the TV monitor. I found this, is it good? Is there anything better? http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=105&cp_id=10425&cs_id=1042513&p_id=8475&seq=1&format=2 I would also need an additional one at floor level to feed cables from my receiver??? What else am I not thinking of? Thank you
