    RB25 or 35

If I use a sub wouldnt the bass be redirected to it instead of the rear channel anyway, eliminating the benefit of the bigger woofer on the 35?

    RB25 or 35

Guys, I have the RF7 and RC 7 and am getting either the RB 25 or 35. Problem is I can get the Demo 25 cheap in Cherry or the 35 cheap in black. there is $180 differance between them and I prefer the Cherry. But, is it worth it to go ahead and get the 35's for rear channel multichannel music and surround HT?
  5. Thoughts? Reviews? I am jealous and inquiring minds want to know what there missing!
  6. OK, update, I went shopping and here is the catch. SACD. Roger Waters: Live at the Berlin wall The Police: Every Breath you take, Greatest hits Toto: IV Billy Joel: 52nd street DVD-A: Linkin Park: Reanimator Yes: Fragile These along with the Queen and the Dark Side Floyd aught to get me started. The Linkin Park was totaly a recomendation purely and judging from what I have hered it isnt bad....but very differant. It will work the surrounds a lot though.
  7. Thanks guys for the suggestions think of any others please posts. I stumbled on this audiofile sight that has everything a seriouse music fan would want, check it out: www.acousticsounds.com
  8. Hey folks, I am getting the Denon 2900 DVD player and I am jacked. I currently have Floyds Darks side SACD and Queens a night at the Opera DVDa. I like most kinds of music, but am interested in feedback of either format that really does a nice job of utilizing the multi channel effect as well as providing good quality music. R&B, Jazz, Rock, Oldies whatever I am flexible. Let me know. Thanks. For referance here is the system: SVS 20-39PC+, Rotel 1066/1075 combo, Denon 2900, DVD Klipsch RF-7/RC-7 and for surrounds (next upgrade) Boston HD-7's. Sony 32" tube TV with Direct TV.
  9. marksdad: I see you also ended up with the Denon. That certainly seems to be the popular choice. I have one cornered for a nice discount...supposedly new in the box for $700.00...I am on the trail fellas I will let you know.
  10. Thanks for the replies. Wow for under $400? can it compete with the 1-grand Denon? sounds too good to be true! I will definately be checking into these puppies.
  11. I am considering a new DVD player. I currently have a 32" tube but in the furture will upgrade to a wide screen probably rear projected HDTV. I mention that because picture quality is somewhat of a concern. I am also hoping to be able to find a quality unit that incorporates the DVDA and SACD capability. I have heard the Pioneer doesnt have the best picture and in particular the 45A doesnt have a strong SACD. I saw the 47ai today and it is a little pricey @ $840.00 but again I have heard the Pioneer's arent the best picture quality. So, whats a buyer to do. I know there are some coming, but I am not sure what, when, How good and or how much I can expect from these new ones. Any suggestions other than buying two units would be appreciated. I am not 100% against two...but the WAF (wife approval factor) goes way down on buying two additional boxes even if the total amount spent is the same as one that does it all. So, thats the delimma...please help.
  12. I am waiting....not for mine unfortunately...but I am waiting on yours so I can be envious when you report that it is the best investment in your long line of HT equipment and that you had to take out a whole new homeowners policy that covered what amounted to earthquake coverage and that the wife quite talking to you when the sub busted all her fine china...other than that...I am not waiting at all.
  13. I prefer the crossover setting on my sub to that of the Pre/Pro. I have my RF-7's set to large as well as the RC-7 and my sub set to max I think (Rotel setting). Then I set the sub at 100hz. (also a SVS 20-39PC+) I have tinkered with it many ways and this is the way I prefer. I also use one port blocker and have the sub dialed down to 16 instead of 20. That way I know that I am not missing much if any sub vibs and general room shaking. I use my system probably 75% HT as opposed to music though so that probably makes a differance. I find that even though dialing down to 16 may take away SOME of the DB's if I adjust the volume of the sub..at least in my smallish room it really doesnt loose much if any muscle. And lets face it feeling the hair on your legs move when a bomb goes off is just plain cool.
  14. congrats on the great nwe piece. Thats the puppy I bought and have no regrets. That sub and my RF-7s truly make beautiful music/HT together.

I really wanted the B4+, but saving my pennies for that beast was going to take longer than I was willing to wait. I was never content with my Velodyne CT-150, but it was much better than nothing. If you love HT, a sub is a MUST item! TV calculated that this PB2-Plus would equal about 4 CT-150s. I think I will experience an audible improvement. I look forward to providing a full report when it arrives! ---------------- PLEASE PM me when you do your report on this baby. I have been tormented with the idea of having this to go with the 20-39PC+ and I am VERY interested in your opinion on yours.
  16. The best advise is to ask SVS tech support. When you email them include your room size and intended usage IE; 60% HT and 40 Music ect ect. Tom V and the gange over at SVS are true Pro's and will not steer you wrong. Good luck.
  17. I have the 20-39PC+ and I have owned three subs and demoed around 10 others. The SVS blew away the competition...although the HSU wasnt one of them so I cannot truely compare them. The SVS rules my roost.
  18. I like: " Because no one ever says, crank up the treble"

  20. This puppy is 1.5 to 1.75 of a 25-31PC+. this is a monster sub and would be a great addition to my HT. I have been toying with either this or the PB1 as a second sub to go with my 20-39PC+
  21. SVS and don't look back...no need to. I have had the PW2200 and have had a Klipsch SW8. I actually liked the SW8 a little better in some ways to the PW2200. The SVS blows them all outta the room. I have the 20-39PC+ and I hear very good things about the PB1. I am considering a second sub and am considering the either the PB1 or the soon to be released PB2. The wife wont do a second cylinder thats why the box.
  22. I noticed it as well. It is kinda hard not to with that booklet of pictures they provide. It is also in this months Home Theatere. I was hoping I could get some specs on the main sight, but notta thing mentioned in any series. Beautiful speakers though. Sorry don't have time to post pics. Anyone know if the new stuff will be timbre matched to the current RF series?
  23. have a RSP1066, RMB1075 and RB1050 on order to arrive late this week. The anticipation is killing me though Congrats on the new gear and welcome to the wonderful world of Rotel. Check out that link I mentioned about owning Rotel it is a great wealth of info for the Rotel owner. Especially the RSP1066.
  24. http://www.htguide.com/CFBoards/index.cfm?fuseaction=listings&CFB=1&forum=25 This link should take you to a sight for Rotel owners/lovers and inquirers(sp?) you should be able to ask some questions that may help your situation. Also I would go to www.rotel.com and find a dealer that is within driving distance to you as an alternative. I am in NC and I called almost every dealer from DC to mid SC. What I found is that none are going to ship you anything, but if you know what you want they should work with you over the phone at least on price, you would have to drive though. The other thing I would recomend is to contact Rotel and let them know how you feel about your local dealer, maybe they can mediate and repair the damage done by this gentleman. Rotel, like SVS has terific customer service and it is hard to put a price on that these days. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  25. I just noticed a SW8II on www.audiogon.com for $100.00, better hurry it wont last long.
