  1. LOL, yes I shoved them in so I could take a pic to show you guys the chrome,I need to find some #4 X 1/4 SS bolts and other hardware before the soldering starts. And Ned sent me the missing 1.5 resistors.Just remembered, need to order MKIII chokes! R
  2. Craig,I've had three since 1985,two worked and one was just a part bug.Like I said, you are more than welcome to them.R
  3. And people here think that I'm crazy for my roadtrip, Congratulations!
  4. Hey Craig, I know you're jealous of Dale's chromed end bells! And you don't want to take yours out of action. I've got 4 extra here that you are more than welcome to have. You could send them out to get chromed, get them back, install them and then send in 4 more. What do you think? Randy
  5. IMHO yes you will notice a drastic difference.R
  6. Win? Is that your name? How do you like your C-20? Is it in your setup now? Reason I'm asking is I was using a counterpoint with my 60's before and am now thinking about having the C-20 gone over and using it instead. What's your opinion? Thanks for your time, Randy
  7. I agree, although I have not heard the other mac's I loved the sound of the mc'60s,the dynaco's didn't sound as good but that is not a put down.
  8. Hi Craig, Went and picked up the chassis and end bells that were chromed for the MKII's today,175 dollars. Not too expensive. They look great.Put a base coat of paint on the edges or the transformers and hopefully the second coat this weekend.Don't know whether to go with flat black or crinkle. What did you use Dale? Have to fine some SS steel nuts and bolts also. The old octal sockets look to be in good shape, they're rca ceramics.Should they be replaced? If not what would you recommend to clean the pin grippers with? I'll take a couple pictures of the (new) pieces tomorrow and post them here. OH and by the way, does anybody know how I can upgrade my AL crossovers until this amplifier madness gets done??? Thanks,Randy
  9. Andy.you're not looking to get rid of your AA's are you.I've got The AL's in mine. Randy
  10. My Wife and I drove from Cincinnati to near Charlestown to pick up our Lascalas last month.Drove straight thru and back in 18 1/2 hours. We were burnt.Worth it.Randy
  11. Have the bias controls here, can't wait to get the chassis back so's I can get busy.Randy
  12. Hey, new day.Brought the instructions home today. Thanks again
  13. Duh,completely missed the rectifier tube statement,Don't need them! Thanks again Tom and Craig
  14. Hi Tom,sorry but without the directions I don't know where the red wire ties in. I'm following the circuit trace. If you turn the board upside down and turn it so you are reading everything right side up the 2 diodes are in the upper right hand corner.Capacitor C1's positive side feeds up to both diodes.Does the red wire tie in at the left or right side of this pair of diodes as we're looking at it?Thanks Tom
  15. Craig i can see why you want us less confused!
  16. Left the instructons at work friday, was looking them over. There are two diodes on the board.d1 and d2.The capacitor bank trace (+) goes to one end of both of the diodes. What I don't know is which end?? There are no other diodes that I know of on this board which is the sds board from triode. Thanks
  17. Putting together tonight but don't have the instructions.Does the negative side of the diodes go to the positive side of the caps?????Thanks Randy
  18. Help! Working on the power supply boards tonight and left the instructions at work. Does the positive capacitor trace go to the negative sides of the diodes? It makes sense but I'm not sure.Randy
  19. I emailed Joe C. a couple of months ago about upgrading my MKII's. His reply stated that his upgrade was for both the MKII and MKIII. I dunno, just a sheetmetal worker here. Randy
  20. WOW, that's not nice! Got the ps parts friday, have to do a side job today so maybe tomorrow will get a chance to start on them. Don't know when the chrome will be done. going to Myrtle beach next thursday for a little golf.Anybody hail from down there? Randy
  21. That was my question,if there are other just as good capacitors from other sources.
  22. To power up the old tube gear slowly.Isn't that the best way to go working with old gear? Randy
