  2. Two cents worth. Had a Garrard Zero turntable a long time ago. There seemed to be alot of slop in the arm itself. I'd recommend going with one of the others that have been mentioned above. Randy
  3. yes, i'm sure it would be fine Randy
  4. That is a tough one to pick out of so many great bands through the years but I'd have to go with Little Feat. They played a variety of styles(in the same songs) and were great live. Still are but without Lowell George whom I admire as a songwriter, guitar player and singer. Their Waiting for Columbus album, which is live is unbelievable. All of the members of the band are great musicians.IMHO Yadda yadda. Randy
  5. Got a room for saturday night, now read that a mixer is Friday night? What's up for Friday, and what time? I really need to get my life together?
  6. I like the looks, think the wife would also. Would love to hear it.
  7. NO work, just a little tune up!
  8. I think with a name like boom you may have too many beans in you as it is!
  9. Really looks great. Have you plugged it in yet and listened to it. If it hasn't been run in awhile you might want to find someone with a varistor to fire it up slowly. You probably know all that. Randy

For sure the MK-II's." --------------- I noticed that you were from Cincinnati, so I said: "Why don't you bring along "25 - 30 slabs" from the Montgomery Inn?" I didn't hear from ya so I asked again in this thread. Well??? ---------------- Sorry, must have missed that part of the thread. They are good, we send them to our children who are out of state now. Also grippo chips, skyline chili and their favorite flavors of ice cream. Sorry, probably won't be bringing the ribs unless someone wants to bring a giant BBQ grill. A GIANT BBQ. I have a feeling that there will be plenty of great food to find in Indy without us having to cook. The boss doesn't know of any reason for us not to go to Indy that weekend so it's looking good.
  11. Lilfeat "Waiting for Columbus" Allman Brothers "Filmore Concerts" Bonnie Raitt "Nick of Time" And bunches more.Stevie Ray, Peter Gabriel, Van Morrison, AC/DC

And a maybe on the trip. Or were you wanting an answer from Randy Taylor in Texas?
  13. You steal a thread and then treat people taking time to help you this way?Cool!
  14. Will check with the program manager, the meeting has snuck up on me. Hope to be able to make it. Sounds like fun. OK to bring some equipment or will it be too much? Will be driving in from Cincinnati and if someone needs a ride that would be cool. Can't wait to meet some of you crazy people. Hey Craig, will we see your new amp? I'll bring the BB and maybe the mac-60's. For sure the MK-II's.
  15. Had lascala's, loved them, went to Khorns, didn't go with room(bad) went with NHT's, now back with lascala's, read, Happy again, Randy
  16. My room sucked with the horns, the lascala's are great! Too narrow of a wall for them to sing. And excuse me, I've had plenty of pant legs flapping with the lascala's, thank you. Can't change the room
  17. Sometimes we are just comparing different Placebo effects........and yet, sometimes we are sure we know what we are hearing.....we think....... there is no answer.......just as there is no final point where a work of true art is finished or the perception of it ends..... play it again Sam........ C&S Well put C&S, some days the music really gets into you and others not so much. Mood and atmosphere are some of the unknowns.
  18. Hi Amy, I think most of us are ok with this topic. If set junkies weren't allowed to taste the truth of PP we wouldn't be doing our job of saving them from themselves. Lovin' you all,

We all know there are two groups here. We all know what camp everyone is in. Nothing new ever comes out of this except we find out who can get their feathers ruffled the quickest. We all know that this post will go on for another couple days and then it will be closed down. If you are happy with the cable you have life is good for you and you can spend the money you saved on gas. Then we can start a new thread every week about if I’m using 87 octane will I hear a difference if I start using 93. If you think it maybe worth the upgrade do it. If you can afford to get $.20 a foot cable go for it. If you can afford to spend $70 a foot, get it. There is no one on this BB who can tell you what you will hear if you buy this type of wire, these IC’s, those speakers, etc. I bought cables that I could afford and it didn’t bother me what I paid for them. I like my system the way it is. If I thought I would be disappointed I wouldn’t have even thought about spending the money. I have been more disappointed upgrading equipment then I have been with cables. Danny ---------------- Danny, did you miss the part about the cables not being real? I believe Andy just wanted to get us rilled up but it's all in fun By the way, is rilled up the right way to spell rilled up?
  20. On the hearing of a big differance when you first hooked up your new speaker cables there could have been a little corrosion on your old connection. Or not. I'd really like to do a blind comparison for my own knowledge. Oh by the way, I'm of the opinion that as long as the wire is of the correct size and not too long that it should be ok. There is the problem of some pre's or amps not being able to drive some loads I've heard also. Just an opinion, Randy
