  1. I bought a new Cinema 400 soundbar + sub 2 days ago. Great sound! I've connected it via optical to my TV. Generally it all works fine, however the soundbar has been dropping out for a few seconds every 10 minutes or so. But the subwoofer keeps going! It's just the soundbar that loses audio. I tried changing SPDIF from Dolby Digital to PCM and thought it worked, however the same problem returned the next day. Any ideas? Thanks!
  2. The Cinema Series soundbars are being replaced with a new series. That's why you can find some great "deals". There are lots of posts about the Cinema 400 and the Cinema 600 soundbars, not all good I'm afraid. You may want to review the Klipsch support articles for the Cinema Series soundbars. If your Cinema 400 was just purchased, perhaps you can return it?
  3. If I would had read all the above I would not have purchased my Cinema 400 this morning. I got a good deal on it and pulled the trigger. I have the sound bar hooked up through hdmi and have not had an issue yet. Been running it for the last 8 hrs. Sound is good. I regret not going for the cinema 600 or higher. The cinema 400 is not compatible with the connect app which has a equalizer to tweak your sound and I did not know that until after I setup my cinema 400.

  5. What are the performence of the 3/4 inch horn tweeters like, will they be similar in performence to the ones in my cinema 400 soundbar. Is the tweeter in the pic only a part of the horn tweeter or is it the tweeter in whole.
  6. I have a CINEMA400 Soundbar from Klipsch. After a dust storm in my area (power started flickering due to the power wires flying around) the subwoofer decided to stay in this state where it wouldn't start for whatever reason. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I figured I'd take what I know about electronics and try to fix it myself. Long story short, on the 3.3v rail, either the cap from factory isn't as good as it should be ( though I don't remember this happening before but it started happening more and more and I got annoyed since lately IT WAS turning on but today it wasn't and I wasn't going to wait for it to fix itself) or it's degraded pretty fast causing this issue from what I gather. The 3.3v cap is the one between (what I assume is) the wireless chip and the heatsink for the amp, it's labed 10v 100uf. This needs a little bit of spice, so I added another cap on the bottom, my cap is a random one I had in my bin (I like to remove capacitors from any PSUs/boards I am going to toss.. never know when you may need one) I don't recall the exact spec but I want to say it was a 16v cap, I will post back exactly what it was. During my measurements the voltage wasn't really moving but I thought to myself "what if I try holding another cap right under it to see if it works.. (taking note of polarity.) " and to my surprise it came to life. In a completely unrelated post (even after I fixed it) I saw this: (some guy saying an ic was causing something to go into protect due to the load) therefore it seems to be atleast on the same page of this. I actually thought of trying this due to some issues in a network switch (netonix AC-8-150) which was solved on a 3.3v by adding a cap, to which again I had added a random cap from my cap stash and it worked and has been working for years. The main and only symptom (other than it obviously not making bass) was that the blue light would flash for like a nanosecond every 2-3 seconds and not do anything else. Messing with the pair button (holding?) would make it go solid, but not work and no way to really pair it since I'd assume it wasn't doing anything. Useful info for anyone working on one of these: PSU seems to output around that of 32v when not underload/connected. Here are some images of some of the chips on the PCB https://imgur.com/a/ki1kAwD I have yet to take the heatsink back off the amp to take a look at what that is incase anyone needs it (blown amp?) I believe that Wisyation WS9526DL is responsible for the wireless connection between the bar and the sub. (and maybe going in and out of sleep mode) Meanwhile the ntp6810a I'm going to guess is probably doing some audio filtering (maybe LPF?) tldr; if sub go nanosecondblink and no worky, maybe check 3.3v cap (10v100uf labeled by the amp) by adding a bigger cappy.
  7. I can't sync the subwoofer to the sound bar Klipsch (Cinema 400)
  8. Hi everyone i've been using the klipsch cinema 400 for the past year and i've had issues with the soundbar turning itself back on after being switched off when i turn off the television, the soundbar is connected via HDMI arc and uses the included HDMI cable that came with the soundbar. I've read some information online regarding these issues being resolved once the HDMI cable is replaced with a higher quality one, is there any truth in that as had a look at the 1 meter audioquest pearl as the replacement for my current HDMI cable and im wondering whether this cable will do the trick regarding the soundbar switching back on.
  9. Had this soundbar for 6 weeks and I like it a lot except for couple of issues. Judging by lack of posts here I don't think there are too many Cinema 400 owners here but I would appreciate everyone's thoughts. This is my 1st Klipsch product and although I've heard many wonderful reviews of the speakers, electronic side of their product perhaps is lacking when compared to the competition? My soundbar works as expected except when I shut off the tv, Sony X900H, soundbar also turns off only to turn itself on again. Sometimes, perhaps 1 out of 20, it will stay off but almost always it turns itself back on. Not a major issue, but I would love to see it behave properly. Called both Sony and Klipsch support, and of course, they both blame other equipment for the issue. Klipsch has provided an RA# but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble of exchanging the unit since I have no other issues. I've read a quite few Cinema 600 owners with their subwoofer connectivity issue and the humming so I'd rather not have to deal with that. Secondary issue, again very minor, is the lack of EQ on the soundbar. I've heard Klipsch Connect App is supposed to provide EQ control when the app is updated, but I don't think Cinema 400 will be able to utilize the app. Even low-end soundbars have some app support and I was extremely surprised Klipsch didn't offer anything for the Cinema 400. Thanks for listening to my rant 😉
  10. My brand new Cinema 400 loses audio after nearly every ad. I am on Spectrum so I have no control over the ads. Is there a setting which will not cause this. I m connected to TV with HDMI earc . Could do optical if that would help. Is these a way to update the software on this device? Cheers Steve
  11. Hi all, I purchase a cinema 400 about a week ago. I get the solid blue light on the back of the sub but no sound. It says its paired but doesn't act like it. I've checked volume settings and everything else and went over the directions a dozen times. I've tried factory reset...nothing, no sound. It's hooked up to a brand new LG 55" Smart TV via ARC HDMI...The sound bar works good. This appears to be a problem with these Klipsch sound bar sub woofers, however, I cant find a fix that will work anywhere. What is the most common problem with this no sound from the sub issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point. I had high hopes for this product... Thank you, James
  12. I have seen a thread on this but no solutions or explanations. I unpacked my unit (that I got 3 months ago) finally which also means I can't return it. Set it up and was very happy with the sound. At first I connected with my phone and bluetooth while setting the television up and it was great no problems. Welt to watch a movie and that is when the problems began. Connected via optical cable, randomly the soundbar would cutoff (no sound coming out) but the wireless subwoofer would stay on and play the movie. This would happen every 3-12 minutes and last 5-10 seconds. I reset the device, checked the cable, even changed the movie source and still the cutting out. Can anyone help????
  13. I have the Cinema 600 and the sub sounds like it’s gated and the gate causes a stuttering sound in the LF when using the system at low volume. It’s pretty bad. So much so that I’ll unplug the sub when I’m using my system at low volume (which is 80% of the time). I had the Cinema 400 before and never noticed this. I wish I hadn’t “upgraded”.
  14. Bonjour, J'ai un soucis avec ma barre cinéma 400. Branchée en HDMI Arc ou en optique, j'ai régulièrement des coupures de son quelque soit le câble. Quelqu'un aurait-il une solution ? Merci d'avance
  15. I recently got the Klipsch Cinema 400 soundbar and the Sony X85J TV. I have the soundbar connected with HDMI to the Arc port. Whenever I turn the TV off the Klipsch soundbar acts like it is turning off then a second later comes right back on. One other thing is when I go between apps like Netflix or live Tv I get a message "Switching to Tv speakers" Then "Switching to external speakers". Anyone have ideas on how to get those 2 issues resolved?
  16. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post but I'll give it a shot. Trying to get a Cinema 400 Sound Bar to pair with the woofer and get audio from the woofer. Followed the printed instructions. Currently have audio from the sound bar but nothing from the woofer. Opened a ticket with Klipsch tech weeks ago but get no response. Tried calling. Tried email. Sound bar has a red light. Printed instructions don't have a legend for the light. Toggle through sources and get blue, green, both with no audio. Replaced HDMI w ARC labeled cable. Tried just optical. Nothing. Reset per printed instructions and repair. Nothing. Can anyone direct me to a knowledgable source or experienced this themselves? I like the build quality on the product. I like the industrial design. Just very frustrating trying to get a solution. Thanks in advance.
  17. I've seen a lot of good reviews on the fives, are they a good upgrade sound quality wise compared to the Cinema 400, the Cinema 400 is going to be used in the bedroom soon, what are the fives like when it comes to updating firmware as i've read a couple of people having trouble with bugs and the like. My Cinema 400 sometimes switches back on when i turn off the tv, but it's an entry level product, i got mine for £349 so isnt so much of an issue, but i'm hoping the Fives will have more solid firmware.
  18. To be perfectly honest I think the Cinema 400 sound bar is junk. The instruction manual is worthless and the sound itself is just OK, nothing special. I own a whole Klipsch ARMOS surround system on my main TV, I also have Heritage La Scala's for my stereo system and have just added the Cinema 400 sound bar w/sub. I've always been a big Klipsch fan (50+ years) but the Cinema 400 is nothing but trouble. Wall mounting using their brackets & template is a nightmare and that would have been enough to stop my purchase (if I had known) but the sound bar keeps turning itself back on. Klipsch's excuse for this is the cable TV box and they have no fix for it meaning I either have to put the Cinema 400 system on a switched power strip or just let it stay on all the time. This is totally unacceptable, it's a bad design and poorly though out by Klipsch but it's from China so I guess it's not unexpected. Based on my experience I would NOT recommend any Klipsch sound bars. BTW - I was a microwave radio tech and then worked as a senior electronics tech in television operations for more than 30 years so I good and bad equipment, video, and sound. It's sad that a company like Klipsch is putting out such junk as it affects their reputation across their product line, most of which is excellent.
  19. Hi everyone, i've been reading a lot of reviews on the internet and in particular youtube and i've been looking to put together a small sound package to replace my Cinema 400 soundbar as looking to use it in the bedroom. I've read a lot of good reviews on the fives, but are they on par when it comes to sound quality to the RP-500M 2's, the reciever im looking to power the RP-500M 2's is the Marantz NR1200. I'm sticking with 2 channel stereo as the sound system will be used for both TV and my standalone DJ controller. Any tips/help will be most appreciated.
  20. Im also a proud owner of the Cinema 400 and mine does the exact same, can this be corrected via a firmware update.
  21. I also have a Sony X900H and klipsch cinema 400 sound bar and my sound bar turns back on every time i shut off my tv, very annoying.
  22. I have a set of the Fives. My wife bought me a R12 SWi subwoofer and the Cinema 400 sound bar with an 8” subwoofer. I use the fives for both music and tv sound. The room is pretty large. Which one would give a better sound as I can’t keep both and I need to return one. Thanks for the input.

  25. @Stockhammer Read the Cinema 400 documents and see if they answer your questions. If not, open a case (i.e. Submit a request) with Klipsch Product Support and ask about a warranty replacement. You may no longer be able to return your soundbar to your retailer but it does have a warranty which I think might be 1 year.
