Don Richard
Electrically they are the same. There may be issues with matching the wood grain, that's all.
JJkizak
Well back in 1965 Klipsch said they are balanced at the final testing procedure. JJK
LarryC
Here's an answer of sorts: One of my tops is stamped 1A836, and so is one of my bass bins. The other top and bass bin are each stamped 1A837. However, the hand-installed brackets and bolts won't fit if I try to match up the numbered units, and the tops are slightly askew if I make them fit. So, one K-horn has a 1A836 top and 1A837 bottom, and vice versa for the other. I never tried to compare the sonics between number-matching and appearance-matching. I've assumed it didn't make a practical difference after 40+ years of multiple driver and crossover upgrades.
Groomlakearea51
Theoretically....... on the later (post 82') type "B" models (collared), the separate serial tags were sometimes marked in pencil with "L" or "R". On earlier type "C" there was no serial number "sticker" applied to the top section. The serial number stamped on the bin tailboard and on the top piece edge were, however the same. Otherwise, as Larry said, you'll have to see which one lines up correctly.
