Jay Registrar
I will ditto what Groomslake said, and add that MDF is just one step up from particle board.
Groomlakearea51
Before anyone makes a decision to use MDF for a project, don't forget that MDF is made using urea-formaldehyde and other organic resins that are known to be "not good for you". These compounds continue to emit for at least several months after the object has been manufactured. Since MDF derives it's strength from the resins that contain formaldehayde, and there is a known health risk involved, consider using a special MDF with lower formaldehyde levels. Anyone who uses MDF needs to wear a respirator when cutting, etc.
