What to use for feet under Cornwall stands?

Hi,

I have had to switch from carpeting to ceramic tile in my basement listening room. (Not optimal, I know, but it had to be done.) The tile is being installed atop poured concrete. Right now my Cornwall stands have metal feet on the bottom...I am not sure if those were stock or not, as I bought the speakers second hand. I would prefer to keep using the stands, but cannot imagine that metal feet on tile is a good combination. What do you all recommend? Also, at this point, the stands are not permanently attached to the speakers...is that a no-no? If I should attach them, how and with what?

Thanks for your help,

Dave

I take it they are not the sock risers for the Cornwalls...

Why are they on the "stands" to be begin with? Is it possible to add a picture of the stands?

James

Sorry if I was not clear...the risers are original stock, but I am not sure if the metal FEET on the risers are original stock.

I am another week from being able to take a pic as everything is in disarray from the tiling.

I think one of my two pair has the metal feet on them also, I am going to check on that. If mine do I will take a picture just to see if yours are the same.

Why not just take the little metal feet off of the risers and then your speakers will be sitting on the riser on the tile on the concrete.

Mount the risers solidly to the speaker cabinets using the screws supplied. REMOVE the metal gliders by prying using a flat-tip screwdriver. Go to Wal- Mart and get a couple of packs of 3/4" diameter black grippers (20 total pieces). Put one gripper on each corner of the bottom of the risers, then equally space two more between the corners along the long sides of the bottom of the risers, while placing just one of the grippers in the bottom center of the short sides. This comes to ten grippers per speaker riser, total of twenty.

If you choose NOT to use the risers, then stick the grippers directly to the speaker bottoms, but use 1" diameter grippers instead of 3/4" diameter ones.

If you listen to your speakers before the grippers and after the grippers, you will notice a perceived lower bottom end response with the grippers installed.
