tommyboy
Memphis in may is a pretty good time. The last time I went it rained the WHOLE time, but it was still a good time. Yes, the night life on Beale is a great time! Live bands, famous Memphis BBQ, and cold beer. Good combo!!! Thanks for all the comments! klipsch4life
Imagine going to a bar and seeing Stevie Ray Vaughn and then walking to the bar next door and seeing Johnie lang or Kenny Wayne Sheppard . This is obviously an exaggeration but the live music talent is amazing I saw Stevie Ray in '85 or '86 at the Orpheum downtown and Johnnie Lang did a talent show on Beale before he signed his record deal, and Kenny Wayne played at Memphis in May. So it's not really an exaggeration (well, for Stevie Ray I guess it would be). Great music history with Stax, Ardent and Sun studios, as well as many others. Oh yea, a little place called Graceland too... dig that shag carpet in the Jungle Room... KG
tommyboy
Unfortunately Graceland has become a VERY bad part of Memphis. Pretty sad to see..............
