Crossman
What would be some recommended replacements for original Khorn speakers? I have seen speaker spec sheets listing some woofers as being 4 ohm or 8 ohm. Is there a difference when replacing? If so which ohm rating does the khorn require? I'm not very speaker literate, so any actual recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks, crossman
Groomlakearea51
Welcome to the Forum!! 4 ohm for the Klipschorn K-33; do not use an aftermarket 8 ohm woofer unless you know how to fiddle with your crossovers, etc. Four ways to do it.... First way is to call Klipsch Parts and order a pair of K-33's. Second way is to contact Bob Crites (BEC on the Forum); he has two choices, cast frame and stamped frame. Both meet or exceed the specs for the factory K-33; Third way is... eBay which is quite risky because you don't know what you are going to get... The other way is to see if anyone on the Forum has a pair that they can part with.
pocket.change
Mr. Bob Crites has the CW1526 which is a direct replacement. I have a pair and love them.
