avman
i chose the ksps-6's over the rs-7's because of positioning, knowing how good the ksps-6's sounded w/the legends,(although i might have(may still)use legends for rears if i would've listened to hornEd ) and a really great guy sold me my 6's in new condition! w/virtual matrix 6.1 really lighting up the rear channel for dts-es and dd-ex,they're doing a great job.had to raise the output level for my center and rears,i guess the spl meter doesn't lie. thanks!avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center ksps-6 surrounds RSW-15 in the house!! sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 sony dvpnc 650-v 5-disc dvd/cd/SACD changer dishnetwork model 7200 dishplayer satellite receiver/digital bitstream recorder sony kv36xbr450 high-definition 4:3 tv sharp xv-z1u lcd projector w/84" 4:3 sharp screen Bello'international Italian-made a/v furniture panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable and nxg interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! TheEAR
Nice setup you have there Avman, the LCD projector must be very welcome. It looks like I could fit this LCD in my room. The AV racks look classy, very neat. How is your experience with the RSW15? Did you do any torture tests to see how far the RSW15 can keep up with your mighty mains? avman
thanks y'all! the rsw-15 is an excellent compliment to my other klipsches,it definitely reaches deeper and with more authority plays deep bass than my legends alone,it is an excellent compliment/addition. w/the bass management in my 777ES, my front l,r roll off to the sub @40Hz,my center @60Hz, and my surrrounds @70Hz.going to look at the specs on c-7 and ksps-6's again, to check low-end bass, but i think my xover points are set at the right frequencies. did a frequency sweep,WISH THERE WAS A VISUAL SCALE TO GO ALONG W/THE SWEEP so i could tell what freq. i was hearing! DEFINITE peaks and troughs, still got some 'tweaking' to do,must not obsess...must not obsess...avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center ksps-6 surrounds RSW-15 in the house!! sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 sony dvpnc 650-v 5-disc dvd/cd/SACD changer dishnetwork model 7200 dishplayer satellite receiver/digital bitstream recorder sony kv36xbr450 high-definition 4:3 tv sharp xv-z1u lcd projector w/84" 4:3 sharp screen Bello'international Italian-made a/v furniture panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable and nxg interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! boa12
av, a disk like that avia has the visuals on the freq points on the sweeps for each speak. i've found the c7 does pretty well down a lil below 50hz. of course the room nodes are somewhat fierce along the way, but it comes back strong below 60hz. i have it set to 50hz as my crossover setting is universal & that works best for me here w/ the sub & 30 mains. but the c7 still shows no great strain. i'd probably cut it at 70 or 80hz though if i could. ear tests of the overall sound may be the best or only real way to tell. ------------------ My Home Systems Page

DLUngurait
avman, That looks like a fun room to me...great job! Is that a drop ceiling? Did you paint the ceiling tiles or did you buy dark patterned tiles like that? The carpet, rope lights, and chrome bar table set are cool additions! Thanks for posting your pics! avman
ceiling grid is welded angle iron.tiles are fiberglas-backed (about 3"thick) textured surface plastic covered.we painted them flat black, then sponge painted blue. a neat effect is when the light comes from in front of you (screen or tv) the ceiling looks flat black, when the light is coming from behind you, the blue sponge paint looks like the sky! boa12,i'll try the avia disc, should have got one for my service calls anyway.thanks for the positive responses. avman. ------------------ KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! Hagood
Great looking room Avman ! I'm in the process of adding on an HT room to the house and I think I'll steal some of your ideas. I love the celing and carpet. Is the raised floor where the a/v equipment is located the way the slab was poured or did you construct some sort of platform ? What are the dimensions of the room ? Enjoy !
avman
the slab was poured that way. the 'stage' is about 3ft. deep. the room w/stage is 23ft. deep by 12ft. wide with 6ft. by 10ft.being the measurements of the area to the side where the black tile is. thanks for the kudos, good luck w/your ht room. avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center ksps-6 surrounds RSW-15 in the house!! sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 sony dvpnc 650-v 5-disc dvd/cd/SACD changer dishnetwork model 7200 dishplayer satellite receiver/digital bitstream recorder sony kv36xbr450 high-definition 4:3 tv sharp xv-z1u lcd projector w/84" 4:3 sharp screen Bello'international Italian-made a/v furniture panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable and nxg interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! KLIPSCHHOG
Being the only one here to have experienced AVMAN'S AV Room many times I have to chime in here. The Room looks and sounds in-friggin-credible!! AVMAN was nice enough to throw a special superbowl party in that room and it was the BEST superbowl party I have attended to date. The room is great, and with the right materials (i,e. the right movies or music) the room becomes an expirience like no other. Steve the pictures came out great, I'll see you saturday and maybe we'll have time to enjoy the theater some more. BTW, when are we slated to put in the theater style doors? Something we could do next weekend? ------------------ LSU PAINTBALL- We'll cover you with our balls!
