Coytee
I understand this is probably used to cut excess string when you put new strings on. What might the "paddle" on the end be used for?
Coytee
And what might this be used for? I'm sort of thinking it's a decorative piece that would be under the strings so you strum on it instead of messing up the finish of the guitar. I can't see how it might attach so I'm thinking maybe I'm wrong. Besides, this was found in a bag with a screwdriver, clippers, the above "nail clippers", implying it's more of a tool than anything. TNRabbit
I understand this is probably used to cut excess string when you put new strings on. What might the "paddle" on the end be used for? It's a pro-winder; it goes on the peg to wind the string quickly onto the peg versus winding them on from the tuning key (many turns to one): http://store.planetwaves.com/category/146454
Coytee
Ok, I can see that, thanks!!
Marvel
Richard, The wood piece looks like a pick guard off of an archtop guitar. You would be correct to say it is for protecting the finish of the guitar. Bruce
Coytee
Thank you Bruce! Given there are no guitars in my hands with this piece missing AND I'd presume this would be pretty specific to a particular guitar, is it fair for me to conclude that it might be trash? If it's not trash... if anyone has any beneficial use for it, I'll send it to ya for the cost of shipping. Unless of course, it's worth $53,012,197.92 (can't forget the .92!!) Marvel
Let's just says the guitar has gone missing. It looks like a piece of Rosewood. If it's Brazilian, the small piece of wood might be valuable to a luthier. Not $53,012,197.92 valuable, though.
