davisindy
Michael i hope your doing better. There is no way i could have done what you did. I have never had a cavity in 46 years and would plain freak out if they had to drill on me. i would even opt for medication during cleaning if they would offer it
Mr. RF62
This may be early Michael, but is it worth it??? I may need some implants but like davisindy above, pain in the mouth just isn't my thing, especially since I can't do anything back to the dentist. colterphoto1
Hard to say, it's a second incisor on top #7, so very visibly missing from my smile. Since having the extraction I've noticed that even with my 'flipper' temp bridge I have a tendency to smile less. What's a smile 'worth' anyway? In my case, the optional procedure of grinding down the two adjacent teeth inorder to create a bridge over the three wasn't a good option, at my age I'd probably see that fail eventually which would lead to dentures. The implant will act nearly like a natural tooth both aestitically and mechanically, and can be replaced later without damage to surrounding teeth or gums. It's about $6K total, most of which wasn't covered under insurance (which I got booted from my COBRA anyway- long story). So I'm picking up nearly the entire tab for removal, bone graft (not always necessary), implant, and crown. Yeouch. Good thing I'm rich, eh?
