seti
Do any of you guys remember the early days of webcams and conferencing? It was easy because you had internet a camera and software. To make a call all you needed was the other parties address. The problem now is that you have to go through a third party. Because of the nature of business I can not go through a third party. All conferencing will be between sites connected via VPN. Does anyone know of point to point conference software that does not involve a third party??? Any advice much appreciated! Marvel
All of the third party stuff... skype, yahoo messenger, AIM, and others only use the central system for establishing the contact. Once that is made, you are conntected directly to the one you are messinging. So you have a stream for ads from their server, video and audio streams to each other and the text connection. I've been trying to find someone with code to allow connections straight another computer. Totally peer to peer chatting.

Yes I am paranoid but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that since patient information is involved. I block most ads destined for our network. The watchguard firewalls are very flexible and work well. I did find an app called NetTalk which always you to enter an ip to connect to the other party. The only problem is it crashes on install on some pcs. I've sent their support an email. If they sort it out I'll likely buy many licenses. Then there is some software made for the adult entertainment industry. You know that will work but it is $1500.
